Abstract

Preservice mathematics teachers will eventually become mathematics teachers and teach mathematics in schools to students. Therefore, it is important to assess the numeracy skills of preservice mathematics teachers to develop their numeracy skills, which will positively impact students once they start teaching in schools. This study aims to describe the numeracy skills of preservice mathematics teachers about numeracy, including how well they can explore mathematical concepts in problems related to numeracy. This study is a qualitative descriptive. The subjects of this study are 28 mathematics education students from the University of Mataram. The instruments used in this study are questionnaires and tasks containing numeracy problems using the Sasak cultural context. Data analysis employs descriptive qualitative analysis, which includes data transcription, categorization, data presentation, description of the numeracy skills of teacher candidates, and conclusion. The results show that, in general, students have not been able to distinguish between numeracy and mathematics. Additionally, students still face difficulties in designing numeracy-oriented learning, especially using the socio-cultural context

Abstract

The understanding of partial-differential equation basic concept is the basic knowledge needed to understand and determine general solutions on partial-differential equations. From the observation on the partial-differential equation class, there are still some students who are unable to understand the basic concept of partial-differential equation. This study aims to discover how the development of interactive PowerPoint learning media is oriented to the basic concept understanding of partial-differential equation. This study was an R&D research using 4D model by Thiagarajan through some stages namely define, design, develop, and dissemination. The instruments used were media expert and material expert validation sheets, student and practitioner response questionnaires, and Quizizz-assisted tests. There were 14 slides on the results of interactive PowerPoint development which contained the title of materials delivered, the learning goals to be achieved, interactive activities, evaluation and references. The interactive PowerPoint learning media can be said to be valid by media expert judgments and material expert judgments, and is practical to use according to the results of student and practitioner response questionnaires. Interactive PowerPoint media is also effective in helping understand the basic concepts of PDP.

Abstract

The Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) is a form of implementation of the independent curriculum that aims to provide students with a more meaningful learning experience and process. P5 activities also apply the concept of differentiated learning, which emphasizes adapting to students' learning interests and readiness to obtain good learning results. Data in the field shows the lack of availability of the P5 module developed at SMPN 1 Pujut which is used as a guide for teachers and students in carrying out P5 activities. This research aims to create an E-Module based on the Strengthening Pancasila Student Profile (P5) Project as a Differentiated Learning Resource for Middle School Mathematics that is suitable for use. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) using Plomp design research, including (1) preliminary research, (2) development or prototyping phase, and (3) assessment phase. The results of this research indicate that the P5 e-module is classified in the very valid category with content validity criteria of 90.28%, and construct validity of 90.97%. Therefore, the availability of interactive P5 modules helps teachers provide innovative ideas and references for creating similar or even better modules.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop interactive learning media based on the Classpoint website that is feasible and practical to use in mathematics learning. This research is a development study using the 4D model, which consists of Define, Design, Development, and Disseminate. Data collection in this study is based on the validation results of instruments conducted by experts and teachers to assess the practicality of the media. The instruments used in this research include product evaluation instruments, covering valid (feasible) and practical aspects. The developed media is a PowerPoint learning media integrated with Classpoint, which can be operated online with a specific code. The results of the media development obtained an interactive learning media based on Classpoint that is valid (feasible) with a validation score of 0.9 and practical with a percentage of 90.8%.

Abstract

This research aims to develop interactive learning media CAKU and Student Worksheets (LKPD) to improve students' understanding of set material in class VII. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) development model. The analysis stage involves identifying needs and problems in learning set material. The design stage focuses on designing media and LKPD that suit the characteristics of class VII students. In the development stage, the media was prepared and tested on a small scale through peer teaching in the Innovative Mathematics Learning Study class which was attended by 16 students to obtain input and improvements. Implementation is carried out through field trials to measure the effectiveness of the media and LKPD that have been developed. Evaluation is carried out to assess the increase in students' understanding before and after using the learning media. The research results show that learning media is effective in increasing students' understanding of the concept of set. Apart from that, it is considered interesting and motivating for students to learn, thus making the learning process more interactive and fun. Thus, it is hoped that the development of the learning media CAKU and LKPD can become an innovative alternative tool for educators in teaching set material, as well as improving the quality of learning in class VII.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the ability of mathematical literacy in solving mathematical problems of students in class VIII F SMPN 8 Mataram on SPLDV material. This research used descriptive qualitative method with purposive sampling technique, involving 33 students. Data were collected through mathematical literacy tests, written tests, and interviews. Based on the research results, 22 students with low mathematical literacy skills with a percentage of 16.67%, 8 students with moderate literacy skills with a percentage of 53.70%, and 3 students with high literacy skills with a percentage of 92.59%. Students with high problem solving have high mathematical literacy skills, this is evidenced by the achievement of students in answering questions by fulfilling all stages or indicators used. Students with moderate problem solving have moderate mathematical literacy skills, where at the formulate stage or understanding the problem and planning problem solving, moderate category students have not been able to formulate information from the problem into mathematical form, while for the employ and interpret stages it is good. Whereas students with low problem solving have low mathematical literacy, this is evidenced by the inability of students to understand and plan problem solving at the formulate stage, it is still difficult to plan solutions with certain methods at the employ stage and at the interpret stage they do not do a back check because they do not know how to solve the problem.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar matematika siswa yang disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor antara lain kecemasan siswa, dan fasilitas belajar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian ex post facto. Variabel dalam penelitian ini adalah kecemasan matematika (X1) dan fasilitas belajar (X2) sebagai variabel bebas serta hasil belajar siswa (Y) sebagai variabel terikat. Populasi penelitian pada siswa kelas VIII sebanyak 397 orang di SMPN 1 Mataram tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini sebanyak 32 siswa yang diperoleh melalui cluster random sampling. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini menggunakan angket kecemasan matematika dan angket fasilitas belajar siswa serta soal uraian untuk mengukur hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan inferensial, menunjukan bahwa terdapat pengaruh kecemasan matematika dan fasilitas belajar secara simultan terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa dengan besar kontribusi pengaruhnya sebesar 73,9%.

Abstract

This research aums to produce a Mathematical Comic Based on Problem Based Learning on Flat Side Building Material for Class VIII that is valid, practical, and has potential effects. This research is development research using ADDIE development model, which consists of stages: analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, obsertionnaires and tests, with the research subjects being class VIII students class VIII students at Semangus State Middle School, totaling 6 students for the small group test and 15 students for the field test. Based on the results of data analysis, it shows that the Aiken’s V value from language expert validation is 0.80, media expert 0.72, and material expert is 0.77 in the valid category. In the teacher practicality test it was 85% and the student practicality test was 80.71% in the very practical category. In the practicality test, teacher, and students obtained and overall percentage of 81.41% in the very practical category. And the results of the potential effects given by 15 students showed that 13 students (87%) were in the completed category and 2 students (13%) were in the incomplete category.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan lembar kerja peserta didik (LKPD) berbasis penemuan terbimbing yang valid dan praktis. Kurangnya media pembelajaran yang memadai dalam proses pembelajaran mengakibatkan rendahnya kemampuan pemahaman dan hasil belajar siswa. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (research and development) menggunakan model 4D (define, design, develop, dan disseminate). Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan pedoman wawancara dan angket. Teknik analisis data yang dilakukan terdiri dari analisis kevalidan dan analisis kepraktisan. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan produk LKPD yang dikembangkan memperoleh skor rata-rata kevalidan 4,30 oleh 4 validator ahli materi dengan kriteria sangat valid dan skor rata-rata kevalidan 4,27 oleh 4 validator ahli media dengan kriteria valid. Kepraktisan produk mendapatkan skor kepraktisan 90,72% dengan kriteria sangat praktis berdasarkan hasil responden 25 orang siswa serta memperoleh nilai kepraktisan 85,71% dengan kriteria sangat praktis berdasarkan hasil responden guru. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengembangan LKPD berbasis penemuan terbimbing valid dan praktis untuk digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze student errors in solving word problems in terms of learning attitudes in class VII students at SMPN 15 Mataram in the 2023/2024 academic year using the Newman procedure. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The sample used was 30 people from class VII-B with the sampling technique used was purposive sampling with data collection techniques carried out by tests, questionnaires and interviews. The results showed that students with a high learning attitude, with a total of 3 students, made 11.11% errors in Comprehension Errors, 22.22% transformation errors, 27.78% process skill errors, and 61.11% encoding errors. . Students with moderate learning attitudes, numbering 23 students, made errors in reading errors as much as 15.21%, Comprehension Errors as much as 31.88%, transformation errors as much as 44.92%, process skill errors as much as 62.31%, and encoding errors as much as 57.98%. Students with low learning attitudes, with a total of 4 students, made errors in reading errors as much as 25%, Comprehension Errors as much as 29.16%, transformation errors as much as 50%, process skill errors as much as 62.5%, and encoding errors as much as 100%. The causes of students making mistakes are weak understanding of concepts, limited ability to read and understand questions, lack of problem solving strategies, lack of practice and experience, and lack of self-confidence.
