Abstract

This study aims to analyze high school students' mathematical problem-solving abilities in exponential and logarithmic functions based on Polya's four stages of problem solving. This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach involving 72 tenth-grade students from a senior high school in Samarinda. Data were obtained through essay tests designed to reveal students' problem-solving processes and semi-structured interviews to strengthen the interpretation of students' work results. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that students' problem-solving abilities varied across ability categories. High-ability students tended to plan, execute, and review the entire problem-solving process, although they did not always write down the initial information explicitly. Students with moderate abilities showed an initial understanding of the problem but had difficulty devising and carrying out a plan, which led to inadequately verified final results. Meanwhile, students with low abilities experienced obstacles from the problem comprehension stage, which led to failure in the subsequent stages. These findings emphasize the importance of strengthening conceptual understanding and practicing systematic problem-solving steps in mathematics learning.

Abstract

Perubahan iklim global memberikan dampak signifikan terhadap pola cuaca di Indonesia, memengaruhi sektor penting seperti pertanian, perikanan, kesehatan, dan ekonomi. Untuk menganalisis data iklim yang kompleks, metode klasterisasi K-Means digunakan guna mengidentifikasi pola cuaca serupa, yang bermanfaat bagi mitigasi bencana, perencanaan sumber daya, dan pengelolaan iklim secara lebih efektif. Data yang digunakan mencakup kecepatan angin, Kelembapan, dan curah hujan dari 34 provinsi di Indonesia pada tahun 2023. Berdasarkan analisis metode silhouette, ditemukan bahwa jumlah klaster optimal adalah dua. Klaster pertama meliputi 15 provinsi seperti Sumatera Utara, Jambi, Papua Barat dan lainnya. Karakteristik kluster pertama yaitu kecepatan angin rendah, Kelembapan tinggi, dan curah hujan tinggi. Kondisi ini dipengaruhi oleh lokasi geografis tropis, pola angin muson stabil, topografi (lembah, hutan, atau pegunungan), serta kedekatan dengan sumber uap air. Klaster kedua Terdiri dari 19 provinsi seperti Aceh, Jawa Timur, Nusa Tenggara Barat dan lainnya. Karakteristik klister kedua yaitu memiliki kecepatan angin tinggi, Kelembapan rendah, dan curah hujan rendah. Faktor geografis seperti wilayah terbuka, angin muson kering, dan jarak dari sumber Kelembapan utama. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat membantu perencanaan dan mitigasi bencana terkait pola cuaca di Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the improvement in students' learning outcomes regarding probability topics when taught using humanism and essentialism learning approaches. The study employed a quantitative approach, specifically a comparative research method utilizing a pretest-posttest comparison group design. The subjects consisted of 30 students enrolled in a Statistics course covering probability, divided into two learning groups. The first group received instruction based on the humanism approach, while the second group was taught using the essentialism approach. The research instrument was an essay-type learning outcome test—validated for content—which served as both the pretest and posttest. Data were analyzed descriptively using normalized gain (N-Gain) scores to determine the extent of improvement in student learning outcomes. The results indicate that both approaches successfully improved student learning outcomes in probability. The average N-Gain score for the humanism group was 0.68, which was higher than the 0.50 score recorded for the essentialism group. Based on these findings, the humanism approach yielded a greater improvement in learning outcomes compared to the essentialism approach for the probability topic.

Abstract

Poverty remains a central issue in Indonesia’s development planning, particularly in Central Java Province, where poverty rates consistently exceed the national average. The Human Development Index (HDI) serves as a composite indicator reflecting quality of life through education, health, and living standards. This study aims to determine the minimum HDI thresholds required for regencies/cities in Central Java to achieve targeted poverty rates (8%, 9%, 10%, and 11%) by integrating simple linear regression with the bisection method. The data consist of HDI values for 2024 and poverty rates for 2025 across 35 regencies/cities, obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The regression model produced the equation K(x) = 47.6038 − 0.5170x with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.64, indicating that HDI explains 64% of poverty variation. The bisection method converged in 23 iterations with a final error of 0.000004. The resulting HDI thresholds range from 70.80 to 76.60 depending on the target. These findings provide a quantitative basis for policymakers to design more effective and evidence-based poverty reduction strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Wordwall educational game based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) in improving mathematical reasoning ability and student activeness of class VIII at SMP Negeri 2 Sendana. This quantitative study employed a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Cluster sampling was used to select class VIII A as the experimental class and class VIII B as the control class (n = 22 each). Data were collected through learning observation sheets, student activeness questionnaires, and mathematical reasoning ability tests. Descriptive analysis showed that the experimental class achieved a post-test mean of 74.18 (high category) for mathematical reasoning and 79.41 (very active) for student activeness, while the control class reached 52 (low) and 56.80 (less active) respectively. N-Gain scores confirmed a high improvement in the experimental class (0.63 for reasoning; 0.66 for activeness) compared to low gains in the control class (0.25 and 0.28). Inferential testing via independent sample t-test and MANOVA (Wilks' Lambda) yielded sig = 0.000 < 0.05, leading to rejection of H0. The results of this research indicate that the Wordwall educational game based on PBL is significantly more effective in improving mathematical reasoning ability and student activeness compared to conventional textbook and LKPD instruction.

Abstract

Masalah gizi pada balita merupakan tantangan kesehatan masyarakat yang krusial. Peningkatan kasus kekurangan dan kelebihan gizi pada balita memerlukan pengolahan data untuk proses klasifikasi sehingga dapat memberikan kemudahan dalam mengambil kesimpulan dan mengambil tindakan dalam pencegahan kekurangan dan kelebihan gizi balita. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini menggunakan tiga metode yaitu Naïve Bayes, SVM, dan ANN untuk mengetahui kinerja dalam mengklasifikasikan status gizi balita menggunakan platform Google Colab dengan tahapan pengumpulan data, prepocessing data, pemodelan data, dan evaluasi performa berupa confusion matrix yang berfungsi untuk mengukur kinerja model klasifikasi machine learning. confusion matrix berisi metrik evaluasi lanjutan untuk menilai kualitas model secara spesifik yaitu accuracy, precision, dan recall. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan metode ANN dengan tingkat akurasi 99% merupakan metode terbaik dan paling efektif dalam pemantauan gizi balita dibandingkan SVM tingkat akurasi sebesar 98%, dan Naïve Bayes sebesar 93%. Hal ini juga didukung adanya keunggulan ANN dalam menyesuaikan bobot secara iteratif melalui hidden layers sehingga mampu memodelkan hubungan non-variabel antara variabel berat badan dan tinggi badan secara presisi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran open ended berbantuan media AI Canva terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa SMP. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan pretest-posttest control group design. Sampel penelitian terdiri atas dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen yang diajar menggunakan model pembelajaran open ended berbantuan media AI Canva dan kelas kontrol yang diajar menggunakan model pembelajaran langsung. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa nilai , sehingga terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara rata-rata kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Nilai cohen’s d sebesar 0,83 termasuk dalam kategori ukuran relatif tinggi, yang berarti model pembelajaran open-ended berbantuan media AI Canva memberikan dampak besar terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa. Sementara itu, nilai N-Gain sebesar 56,16% berada pada kategori cukup efektif, yang menunjukkan bahwa model open-ended berbantuan media AI Canva cukup efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model open-ended berbantuan media AI Canva memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa kelas VII di SMPS Imelda Medan.

Abstract

Abstrak Kemampuan representasi visual matematis merupakan kompetensi fundamental yang sering terabaikan dalam pembelajaran matematika di tingkat SMK. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan representasi visual matematis siswa melalui pendekatan STEAM berbantuan GeoGebra pada materi transformasi geometri. Penelitian menggunakan desain quasi experiment pretest-posttest control group dengan subjek siswa Kelas X TKJ SMK Widyagama Malang. Instrumen penelitian berupa 5 butir soal uraian yang mengukur empat indikator representasi visual. Analisis data menggunakan uji Shapiro-Wilk, paired sample t-test, independent sample t-test, dan N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelas eksperimen memperoleh rata-rata pre-test 32,33 dan post-test 80,33 dengan N-Gain 0,768 (kategori Tinggi), sedangkan kelas kontrol memperoleh rata-rata pre-test 26,00 dan post-test 83,33 dengan N-Gain 0,746 (kategori Tinggi). Uji paired sample t-test menunjukkan nilai t hitung sebesar 17,17 dengan sig. 0,000 (p<0,05), yang berarti kedua kelas mengalami peningkatan signifikan. Namun, uji independent sample t-test pada skor post-test menunjukkan nilai sig. 0,272 (p>0,05), yang berarti tidak terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara pencapaian akhir kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Pendekatan STEAM berbantuan GeoGebra menunjukkan potensi sebagai alternatif pembelajaran dengan nilai tambah khusus dalam hal literasi digital, pengalaman estetis visual, dan kontekstualisasi teknologi.

Abstract

This study develops and examines the initial effectiveness of the Conceptual Cognitive Conflict Model Based on Dynamic Visualization (KKVD Model) for improving students’ conceptual understanding of geometric transformations. Initial effectiveness is defined here as the model’s capacity to produce statistically and practically significant differences in learning outcomes during a small-scale field trial, prior to broader dissemination. Using a Research and Development (R&D) design adapted from Thiagarajan’s 4D model (limited to the Develop phase), followed by a quasi-experimental field trial, the KKVD Model was validated by three experts (mean score 87.7%, Very Valid). The experimental group (n = 20) and control group (n = 20) consisted of Grade XI students from SMK Widyagama Malang, selected through purposive sampling based on comparable prior achievement and class availability. The experimental group’s mean posttest score (81.46) significantly exceeded the control group (72.29), with N-Gain of 0.70 (high) versus 0.54 (medium), and a large effect size (Cohen’s d = 1.12; p < 0.001). The most substantial improvements occurred in the conceptual relations and generalization dimensions, reflecting deeper conceptual restructuring. The KKVD Model systematically integrates cognitive conflict, GeoGebra-based dynamic visualization, and conceptual reconstruction into a validated instructional syntax, offering a promising alternative for meaningful geometry transformation learning.

Abstract

The low level of students’ critical thinking skills and mathematical self-concept is influenced by the use of less effective learning models and the limited integration of technology in mathematics instruction. To address these issues, a concept attainment learning model assisted by Autograph software was implemented. This study aimed to examine whether the improvement of students’ critical thinking skills and mathematical self-concept through the concept attainment model assisted by Autograph was better than that achieved through conventional learning. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method using a nonequivalent control group design. The population consisted of twelfth-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Tanah Jambo Aye. Data were collected through observations, interviews, tests, and non-test instruments. Test data were analyzed using the Mann–Whitney nonparametric test, while non-test data were analyzed using the independent sample t-test. The findings indicated that students taught using the concept attainment learning model assisted by Autograph demonstrated better improvement in critical thinking skills and mathematical self-concept compared to those taught through conventional learning.
