Abstract

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) was the leading cause of death globally in 2019. The risk of CVD include cholesterol and blood sugar levels, blood pressure, and Body Mass Index (BMI). Physical activity is one of the protective factors of cardiovascular disease. This study aims to analyze measurement of self-reported physical activity with cardiovascular risk in rural adults in Indonesia. This study was an observational analytic with a cross-sectional design. All adults (aged 12-59 years) about 93 samples were obtained using an accidental sampling technique. Collecting data involves assessing physical activity using the Global Physical Activity Questionnaire (GPAQ) and cardiovascular risk was calculated using the Framingham 30-Year Risk Score. The data were analyzed using the Spearman test. The majority of respondents were female (52.7%), in the late adult age category (83.9%), high school graduate (51.6%), an employee (64%), and income of respondents (33.3%) were Rp 2.000.000. Physical activity was associated with cardiovascular risk physical activity had a higher risk of cardiovascular disease and vice versa. Physical activity does not correlate with CVD risk factors, such as cholesterol levels, blood sugar levels, BMI, and blood pressure among adults in rural areas in Jombang, Indonesia. Measurement of self-reported physical activity can increase cardiovascular risk in rural adults in Indonesia. A healthy lifestyle by increasing physical activity should be carried out in adulthood to prevent the risk of cardiovascular disease.

Abstract

PIK-KRR is one of the adolescent health programs as a preventive effort towards adolescent reproductive health. Data from KESRA, BKKBN and the Health Office of Bukittinggi City, the implementation of the PIK-KRR program in Bukittinggi City has been running but the implementation has not been optimal because the existence of PIK KRR in Bukittinggi City is not in every school, there are only 8 PIK KRR spread across SMA / SMK / MA in Bukittinggi City. This study aims to analyze the achievement of the implementation of the PIK-KRR program in Bukittinggi City. This type of research is a qualitative description with the selection of informants using purposive sampling, namely all elements related to the implementation of PIK-KRR: Health office, DP3AP2KB, Puskesmas, high school, and aggregate adolescents in the school and community environment. Data collection in this study used in-depth interviews and observation. Data analysis used collaizi technique. The results showed that the achievement of the implementation of the PIK-KRR program in Bukittinggi City was still low, especially the low interest of adolescents to participate and take advantage of the PIK-KRR program, this was influenced by factors such as the lack of commitment of policy-making parties and cross-sector program implementers, lack of funds, infrastructure and incompetent human resources. Therefore, it is expected that all relevant parties can take steps and strategies to strengthen the implementation of the PIK-KRR program in Bukittinggi City.

Abstract

Complementary therapy can be used as an alternative in treating sleep disturbance among hemodialysis patients. This study intends to pinpoint certain complementary treatment approaches that can enhance hemodialysis patients' sleep quality using Scooping Review. The databases Scopus, Proquest, PubMed, and ScientDirect are the ones that are monitored. The search terms to employ are "Complementary Therapies" OR "Therapy, Complementary" OR "Complementary Medicine" OR "Therapies, Alternative" AND "Sleep Quality" OR "Sleep Qualities" AND "Renal Dialysis" OR "Hemodialysis," with the quality of each keyword being assessed and the results being summarized in the final report. The initial search of 6863 articles were found by filtering according to the inclusion criteria, which included 2012–2022, full text, journal article type, quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods, and 6842 after duplication check. Screening of titles and abstracts, as well as design, non-English, and deleting articles that did not match left 257 articles. Finally, 11 articles were left for eligibility assessments based on the inclusion and exclusion. There are four types of complementary therapy that can be used to enhance sleep quality, including dietary supplements; mind-body modalities; acupuncture, acupressure; and massage. For individuals receiving hemodialysis, this therapy may be a good non-pharmacological alternative to treat sleep issues. To validate these results and advance knowledge of complementary therapies for controlling sleep quality in hemodialysis patients, additional study is required.
