Abstract

Many problems arose during the puerperium, including the production of little breast milk, milk that was not smooth, and the dam of breast milk. The hormones prolactin and oxytocin secretion impact how well breast milk is produced. The mother's mental health impacts how these two hormones are secreted. When a mother is under psychological strain (stress), the hypothalamus's work function is suppressed, preventing the pituitary gland from secreting prolactin and oxytocin. This study aimed to find the latest scientific evidence on the benefits of Oketani massage to overcome breast milk problems. The PICO Framework and PRISMA-ScR Checklist were used in this scoping review. The literature search in this study used 4 databases: Pubmed, Science Direct, Research Rabbit, and ResearchGate. The research used the Joana Briggs Institute (JBI) Appraisal Tool. There are 392 potentially relevant articles, and 11 eligible articles were selected. Article inclusion criteria were articles published in 2017–2023 in English or Indonesian, and articles focused on Oketani massage to address breastfeeding problems, namely the smoothness of breast milk, milk production, and milk dam. These 11 articles explain and prove scientifically that the Oketani massage technique and the Oketani massage combination will affect milk production, smooth milk, and breast milk dam. There is a conclusion that Oketani Massage can be used to overcome breast milk problems in postpartum mothers. Oketani massage can be done with 8 manual massage techniques and lasts 30-45 minutes, i.e., 15-20 minutes each for each breast.  And also, health workers are advised to learn Oketani massage techniques as a therapy to overcome breast milk problems, which is expected to overcome breast milk problems.

Abstract

Binge eating behavior is described as a loss of control over eating large amounts of food compared to ordinary people over a period of time. Binge eating is common among adolescents and poses significant health risks. In Indonesia, research on this issue is limited. This study explores how self-esteem, dietary habits, BMI, and emotional control relate to binge eating. This research uses a quantitative method with a cross-sectional study. The sample in the study amounted to 346 participants. Data collection techniques using the Modified BES (Binge Eating Scale), DERS-SF (Difficulty Emotional Regulation - Short Form), RSES (Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale), and dietary restraint questionnaire that the researcher made himself. The participants with binge eating behavior were 118 (33.5%). A significant relationship exists between binge eating and self-esteem, emotion regulation, and dietary restraint, but not with BMI. Dietary restraint has the most vital relationship. This study concludes that binge eating behavior has a high prevalence among adolescents. Emotion regulation, self-esteem, and dietary restraint were proven as risk factors in this study, and the most significant factor was dietary restraint. BMI Z-score showed a negative correlation with the incidence of binge eating in adolescents. Suggestion: Schools are expected to provide emotional assistance through counseling guidance to students related to mental health and knowledge about eating behavior and proper diet.

Abstract

The prolonged use of diapers can cause skin problems in babies due to inflammation in the diaper-covered area. Toilet training is a crucial milestone in a child's development, marking the transition from diaper to toilet use. This study aims to identify the factors associated with toilet training in toddlers. It is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional approach conducted in October 2023. Eighty respondents (40 mothers and 40 toddlers) were involved using a total sampling technique. The independent variables in this study were the mother's factors (age, education, and knowledge) and the child’s factors (age and gender). The dependent variable was the child's readiness for toilet training. Data were collected using surveys and questionnaires and then analyzed using the Chi-Square test. The results show that the factors significantly associated with toilet training readiness are maternal knowledge (p=0.003, OR 0.60 CI 95% (0.264–5.208)) and the child's age (p=0.002, OR 0.374 CI 95% (0.257-5.680)). The research recommendation is for mothers to start teaching their children toilet training between the ages of 2 and 3.

Abstract

Introduction: Farmers use synthetic pesticides to enhance agricultural productivity, reduce or eliminate yield losses, and maintain high product quality. Although synthetic pesticides play a crucial role in increasing agricultural productivity, they also pose risks to the health of farmers. Long-term exposure to pesticides is a risk for farmers and can cause various types of cancer, such as digestive system cancer, stomach cancer, esophageal cancer, lung cancer, intestinal cancer, bladder cancer, and lymphoma. Pesticides also exhibit mutagenic and teratogenic properties. The aim of this study is to determine the risk analysis of pesticide poisoning to farmers in Kenagarian Simpang Tanjung Nan IV, Solok Regency. Method: This research is a descriptive observational study with a cross-sectional design and a field study method using Environmental Health Risk Analysis (EHRA) by measuring pesticide levels in each village and farmers residing in the area. The study was conducted from July to December 2023. Results: The study shows an average duration of exposure for farmers of 15.69 years with an average daily exposure of 7 hours. Pesticide concentrations in the air, soil, and water exceed the quality standard value of 0.1 mg/L. All real-time Risk Quotient (RQ) values indicate that farmers are at risk of pesticide poisoning.

Abstract

Breast milk is the gold standard for baby food; it has been scientifically established to provide benefits that no other food or beverage can match since it includes the most suitable, complete nutrients and constantly adapts to the baby's changing demands. The gold standard for infant nutrition starts with an Early nursing Initiation and continues with six (six) months of exclusive nursing (Munzia, 2013). Only 3.7% of infants in Indonesia are nursed within the first hour of their lives, according to research. There is only one issue with moms not continuing to breastfeed their children until they are six months old: they don't completely understand how to breastfeed well, including procedures and how to obtain breast milk, especially if they also have to work. According to the 2021 Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) findings, the province of Lampung achieves an early breastfeeding initiation rate of 80.4% and an exclusive breastfeeding rate of 73.6% for babies who are 6 months old. Compared to West Tulang Bawang Regency, where the success rate for exclusive breastfeeding was 29.1% rather than the desired 60%, the success rate for early breastfeeding initiation was 1.8% rather than the recommended 39.6%. Early breastfeeding is practiced for all newborns (Riskesdas, 2021).The goal of the study was to ascertain how family support affected the effectiveness of early breastfeeding initiation in 2022 at the PMB Work Area of the West Tulang Bawang Regency Service. In this study, a quasi-experiment with a control group design was used. All women and birth attendants in the West Tulang Bawang District Health Office's service area in 2022 made up the study's population. The 96 birth moms and delivery attendants who worked at the West Tulang Bawang District Health Office in 2022 were the study's sample. Observation, interviews, and documentation studies are used to acquire data. Descriptive and analytical statistics are used to analyse and analyze data. The analysis of the data reveals that respondents who had family assistance were able to initiate early breastfeeding within the first 30 minutes. In contrast, those who had family assistance on average were able to initiate early breastfeeding in the third 30 minutes. According to the statistical test results, p = 0.014, it may be inferred that the effectiveness of early breastfeeding initiation in new moms is significantly influenced by the family's support.Researchers in scientific development may offer the following advice: having a partner present during labor and delivery will have a really exceptional impact, especially on the mother's psychologically. Giving this care will mark the start of a successful nursing relationship, and vice versa. In an effort to increase the coverage of exclusive breast milk and achieve mother and infant health in Tulang Bawang Barat, the results of this research can be continuously improved to provide more pertinent information and learning resources about early breastfeeding initiation. These improvements will also be very helpful for future scientific advancement.

Abstract

Breast cancer is the highest case in women every year. Breast cancer can attack all age groups including adolescents. Breast self-examination behavior (BSE) is one of the most effective methods of early detection of breast cancer. One of the factors that influence the practice of BSE in young women is peer support. Aims: to determine the relationship of peer support with breast self-examination behavior (BSE) in adolescents. Design of this study was the descriptive correlational. The sample consisted of 219 students of SMAN Sumedang with proportionate random sampling technique. The instrument of this study was the BSE behavior and peer support questionnaires. The instrument was tested for validity and reliability, the result was a validity test 0.3 and a reliability test of 0.9. Result: the majority of respondents (80.8%) did not practice BSE, peer support to almost all teenage girls (91.3%) in the low support category. Peer support and BSE behavior in young girls had a significant relationship (sig. 2-tailed = 0,000). Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the   practice of BSE and peer support in teenage girls were in low category, there was a significant relationship between the two. It is hoped that health workers can collaborate with schools to provide continuous health education about the importance of BSE for young women.

Abstract

Schizophrenic patients during pregnancy have significant consequences such as gestational diabetes (especially when taking antipsychotics), gestational hypertension, venous thromboembolism, fetal growth restriction, stillbirth, premature delivery, and fetal anomalies. The quality of life of schizophrenic patients during pregnancy will never be realized without the support of all parties, including their partners. This study aims to explore the schizophrenic couple's perspective on pregnancy. The method used in this research is qualitative research using a descriptive phenomenological approach. Data collection techniques used 30-45 minutes of in-depth interviews and were analyzed using Colaizzi's seven stages. The results of this study found three themes, namely (1) sincerity in caring for those in distress, (2) Belief in God's destiny, and (3) Fear of having a child with a mental disorder. New insights in this research about 'sincerity in caring for in distress' can provide inspiration that there is still sincerity in caring for a sick partner in a difficult life. This research encourages health workers, especially nurses, to provide holistic and comprehensive health services to their partners.
