BERDAYA: Jurnal Pendidikan dan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat is a scientific multidisciplinary journal published by Lembaga Pengembangan Manajemen dan Publikasi Imperium (Imperium Research Institute). The aim of this journal publication is to disseminate the conceptual thoughts or ideas and research results that have been achieved in the area of community services. BERDAYA contains various activities of the teaching staff in Indonesia in handling and managing the various potentials, obstacles, challenges, and problems that exist in society. Implementation of service activities also involves the participation of the community and partners. Service activities are organized into an activity aimed at improving the welfare of society. Focus and Scope BERDAYA, particularly focuses on the main problems in the development of the sciences of community services areas as follows: Community Services, People, Local Food Security; Training, Marketing, Appropriate Technology, Design; Community Empowerment, Social Access; Student Community Services;Border Region, Less Developed Region; Education for Sustainable Development.

Abstract

The digitalization of education has become both a challenge and an opportunity for educators to improve the quality of learning. One innovative solution that can be implemented is the use of Miro as an interactive learning tool. This community service activity aims to implement Miro as a teaching medium for teachers at SMAK Thomas Aquino using a Design Thinking approach. The methods used include interviews, observations, training sessions, and evaluations of Miro's effectiveness in classroom instruction. The main training session was held on December 20, 2024, with 19 teachers participating. The results show that most participants experienced an increased understanding of technology use in teaching and felt more confident in adopting digital-based learning methods. The success indicators of this activity include improved digital literacy among teachers, ease of using the Miro application, and increased awareness of the potential of technology as a teaching aid. One teacher stated that the application was very helpful in teaching and felt familiar due to its similarities with commonly used platforms such as Google Docs. Despite some initial challenges in logging in and adapting to the platform, the mentoring-based approach proved effective in helping teachers understand Miro’s core features. The implementation of interactive technologies like Miro can be a viable solution to enhance student engagement and learning effectiveness in the digital era.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase sales by 45% within three months compared to the previous quarter, through enhanced customer satisfaction and loyalty by optimizing service quality at Kedai Om Bew & Billiard, located at Ruko Marco, Jatiluhur, Jatiasih District, Bekasi City, West Java. The activity adopts an action research approach, focusing on employee training to improve service skills and monitoring customer satisfaction through surveys and direct observation. The evaluation of human resource strategies is carried out in cycles, including planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results indicate that service quality improvement significantly contributes to customer satisfaction, increasing from 46.5% to 93%, and repeat purchases reach 92%. Thus, improving service quality has proven effective in building customer loyalty and supporting sales growth at Kedai Om Bew & Billiard.

Abstract

Digital marketing is a promotional strategy using digital media that significantly enhances students’ entrepreneurial skills. A lack of practical skills, including product marketing, often causes high unemployment among high school graduates. This training aimed to equip students of SMA Santo Yoseph, Cakung, East Jakarta, with knowledge and skills in digital marketing. The method used was a participatory training approach, beginning with initial observation and coordination with the school, then the material presentation and hands-on practice. Students were divided into groups to create social media accounts, design promotional content, and upload recycled products to digital platforms. Facilitators provided technical guidance throughout the practical sessions. The activity concluded with evaluation and discussion sessions to assess students’ understanding and the impact of the training. Previously, students had learned how to transform used materials into finished products but could not market them. Through this training, it is expected that students will develop an entrepreneurial spirit and be able to utilize digital media as a marketing tool.

Abstract

The social phenomenon of urban communities that are prone to individualism influences low social awareness. Rukti Jenazah as an activity that captures the manifestation of social and cultural values in society is starting to be rarely found in urban communities. Generally, they rely on third party services for corpse care rather than doing it collectively. This shows that community activities that require a sense of social awareness face real challenges in an era where human relationships are starting to grow distant. This certainly needs to be a concern for all parties. By involving 26 members of the organization as participants, the activity was carried out in three stages, namely input session, discussions, and direct practice with media that had been prepared by the community service team. The series of activities went smoothly and proved successful in increasing participants' understanding of the attitude of social awareness and how it is manifested through this activity. This was shown through the average post-test score (49.69) which was higher than the average pre-test score (44.31). The average understanding of participants increased by 5.38 points. This is the basis for Branch Manager of Muhammadiyah Notoyudan to develop and expand the Rukti Jenazah training program as a sustainable strategy in increasing social awareness and solidarity between residents, as well as a model that can be applied in other areas with similar problems.

Abstract

Technology integration in education has become essential to support inclusive and adaptive learning. However, many teachers still face challenges in developing differentiated teaching materials that address their students' diverse learning styles and abilities. This issue stems from teachers' limited knowledge and skills in effectively utilizing innovative technology. This training program aims to enhance the skills of teachers at SMP Negeri 26 Padang in creating differentiated teaching materials through the use of the Wizer.me application. The method employed is a participatory approach consisting of three main phases: training planning, implementation (including theoretical sessions and interactive practice using Wizer.me), and evaluation. The results indicate that the training successfully equipped teachers with strong competencies in operating the Wizer.me application. The program significantly impacted teachers' understanding and skills in utilizing the platform to produce interactive, varied, and student-centered teaching materials. Additionally, participants expressed a high level of satisfaction with the program. Thus, this training program has made a tangible contribution to empowering teachers to leverage technology in creating innovative educational content.

Abstract

Character education is a fundamental aspect in creating quality and integrity human resources. In line with the 4th SDGs on quality education, character education is expected to form students who are not only academically superior but also have high morality. The PKM activity, which was held on Thursday, January 9, 2025, aimed to increase students' understanding of the importance of character education based on religious values in daily life through counseling methods at SMAS Syekh-Yusuf, Tangerang City. Counseling was carried out with an interactive approach involving group discussions, case studies, and role simulations so that participants could more easily understand and internalize character values such as honesty, responsibility, discipline, and empathy. To measure the effectiveness of the program, pretest and posttest were given to determine the improvement of students' understanding before and after counseling. The results of the evaluation showed a significant increase in students' understanding of the concept of character education and its implementation in daily life, which was 66%. With these achievements, it is hoped that students will be able to apply character values consistently in the school and community environment and become a generation with integrity, in accordance with the goals of quality education in the SDGs.

Abstract

Vocational high school (SMK) students, as part of the younger generation with strong physical and mental potential, must be equipped with productive knowledge to become independent and not a burden to their families or the government. This community engagement activity focused on developing an entrepreneurial mindset by presenting successful and failed business case studies and strategies to build and sustain a business. The activity used interactive methods: lectures, discussions, and Q&A sessions. These approaches created an engaging learning environment, encouraging students to ask questions and explore business topics more deeply. Lecturers from STIE Indonesia delivered contemporary business case studies, making the sessions relevant and intellectually engaging. Held on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at SMK Tunas Markatin, Jakarta, the program resulted in high student enthusiasm and understanding of entrepreneurship. Students showed interest in generating creative business ideas and recognized the importance of business planning connected to their school subjects in economics and entrepreneurship. Success indicators included active participation during discussions, students’ ability to create basic business plans, and the school’s commitment to guiding students in continuing entrepreneurship development.

Abstract

Selumit Pantai Sub-district in Tarakan City, North Kalimantan, is known as a “Drug Village” due to the widespread circulation and trade of narcotics. This community service initiative aimed to instill positive values and improve financial literacy among children at TPA Al-Ma’ruf as a preventive measure against drug abuse. A practical approach fostered emotional engagement between participants and educators, making learning more accessible and enjoyable. The activity was conducted face-to-face on April 29, 2025, at Al-Ma’ruf Mosque and involved 41 children aged 5–14. Evaluation results indicated an improved understanding of basic money management, along with high enthusiasm and active participation. The provision of savings rewards was a positive stimulus to cultivate saving and sharing habits. This program demonstrates that affective-based education combined with financial literacy can effectively shape positive behavior and prevent early exposure to drugs.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia face challenges in building consumer trust and expanding market access. Halal certification and labeling serve as strategic tools to enhance competitiveness, especially in predominantly Muslim markets. This community engagement program aimed to improve the understanding of Azalea Depok MSMEs regarding the procedures, benefits, and economic impact of halal certification. Through an interactive workshop, participants were introduced to relevant regulations, certification stages, and halal standards set by the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI). The findings indicate that most business owners had limited knowledge of the certification process and encountered technical and administrative barriers, such as the absence of legal business documents and unfamiliarity with the SiHalal online system. Nevertheless, participants demonstrated high enthusiasm, particularly following a practical simulation session. Key success indicators of this activity included improved participant comprehension, emerging self-initiatives to begin certification, and requests for follow-up technical assistance. Overall, the program successfully increased awareness and readiness among MSME participants, emphasizing the importance of ongoing support and policy alignment. Halal certification has proven to be not only a legal obligation but also a strategic instrument for market expansion, brand differentiation, and business sustainability.

Abstract

Domestic violence (KDRT) is a social issue that requires serious attention, especially at the community level. This community service activity was carried out in Tejoasri Village, Lamongan on July 13, 2024. This research aims to build awareness and strengthen the role of family support cadres in efforts to prevent domestic violence in Village. The method used is a participatory approach involving PKK cadres as the main subject in empowerment activities. This program includes outreach about the types of domestic violence, its impact on families, as well as prevention strategies through education and mediation. The results of the service showed that after the training, there was an increase in cadres' understanding of domestic violence and their role as agents of change in their respective environments. Cadres are able to identify signs of domestic violence, provide education to vulnerable families, and build networks with related parties such as village officials and social service institutions. This program proves that empowering family support cadres can be a strategic step to create a community that is more caring and responsive to the issue of domestic violence.
