Educators are respected as individuals in the community and are known as heroes for their significant contributions toward the success of an individual and also for their assistance in optimalizing learners’ realization about their goals. Unfortunately, there are still many educators in Indonesia who are not happy and are under a great amount of stress when carrying out their roles. This can have an impact on the quality of educators’ performance. The performance of an optimal educator can be determined based on his or her level of intelligence and mental health conditions. This research uses the descriptive and quantitative research method with 1000 respondents of educators in DKI Jakarta with at least one year of work experience. The results indicated that 87,8% educators have a high emotional intelligence and 94,3% educators have a high psychological health. In other words, this means that educators in DKI Jakarta, in general, have good emotional intelligence and psychological well-being.Keywords: emotional intelligence, psychological well-being, educator

Lecturers are professional educators and scientists. Their main tasks are transforming, developing and disseminating knowledge, technology and arts through education, research and community service. Organizational commitment is an important factor that needs to be owned by the lecturers in order to retain in the organization as well as to perform their best work performance to the organization. Research of organizational commitment on full-time lecturers is important to be done because it may affect the lecturers’ work behavior in teaching and learning process and their work performance. The purpose of this study is to obtain an overview of the organizational commitment on full-time lecturers in terms of their personal characteristics. The theory used is organizational commitment proposed by Allen and Meyer (1990). Organizational commitment consists of three dimensions: affective commitment, continuance commitment, and normative commitment. Quantitative method is used to analyze the data. The participants are 602 full-time lecturers from the best private universities in Indonesia. Data was collected by distributing the organizational commitment questionnaire which was adapted from Allen and Meyer’s version (1990). The results showed that the full-time lecturers have a high organizational commitment (M = 3.00). Each dimensions of organizational commitment are also high: affective commitment (M = 3.18); continuance commitment (M = 2.89); and normative commitment (M = 2.96). Furthermore, in terms of personal characteristics, there are significant differences on organizational commitment of full-time lecturers in gender, age, job tenure and functional position of lecturer, but there is no significant difference on organizational commitment in term of educational level.Keywords: organizational commitment, personal characteristic, full-time lecturer

Student athletes at School X showed low achievement motivation. It is shown from the achievements in the academic that is lower than the achievements in sports. Achievement motivation refers to behavior related to learning and progress in school. Personality is one of the factors that influence academic achievement. Hardiness is a personality characteristics to survive by making adjustments in the face of pressing conditions. Some previous studies found no relationship between hardiness and achievement motivation. This study aims to test the effectiveness of hardiness training to improve achievement motivation of student athletes at School X, Tangerang. The research design is pre-test post-test control group design. The number of participants were 10 students, specifically 5 students in the control group and 5 students in the experimental group. Participants are high school-level student athletes with age range 15 to 18 years. The format of intervention is 7 days hardiness training with 11 sessions. Measurements using Independent Sample T-Test and Paired Sample T-Test. Based on the comparison measurement of pre-test and post-test, the result is (a) there are differences in achievement motivation in control and experimental group in post-test, (t = -3.165, p < 0.05), (b) training of hardiness can increase achievement motivation in 5 participants experimental group, (t = -4.595, p < 0.05). Hardiness training effective to improve academic achievement motivation for student athletes at School X, Tangerang. Keywords: achievement motivation, hardiness training, student athletes.

Sex education for adolescent with special needs becomes a necessity. In term of it, besides based on philosophical a juridical, sex education is the preventive efforts in order that every child with special needs can recognize, understand in handle biological development and change. In addition sex education for adolescent with special needs also aims at guiding them to appreciate others people’s sexual behavior and not to make them being stuck on deviate sex conduct as well as not getting violence and sexual abuse from others. This is because their physical and psychological condition, which has some problems, enables them to be easily manipulated and courted so that many of them are often stuck to be an object of sexual harassment of irresponsible person. The method used is qualitative method in form of case study, data collection, using interviews and observation. Subjects in this research were two teachers and three parents. This research specifically is going to explain the concept of sexual education for adolescent with special needs, the anvil of sex education, as well as material, method, parents and teacher competencies in the implementation of sex education for them. To fulfil the demand of various roles undertaken to be a good father, as breadwinner and a role in the family, can be a pressure when it is inconsistent and conflicting between each roles. That kind of conflict is called the Work-Family Conflict. Given the importance of alignment between the work with the family, this study intends to get an idea of the form of conflict between work with the family (Work-Family Conflict) on male lecturers and strategies undertaken by them to resolve the conflict. The selection of two subjects aged 22 years to 52 years in this study was based on the results of research conducted by the Families and Work Institute in Lamanna, Riedman and Strahm (2012) which states that men with births between 1965 and 1994 largely had the view that family as important (family-centric). In order to get the full and total comprehension of the subject experience, the research design used in this study is qualitative research. This study reveals that as lecturers, both of the subject experienced conflicts where family interfering with work and work interfering with family. The dominant form of the conflict they have as lecturers are Strain based conflict and Time-Based Conflict. Most conflicts experienced by the subject whose wife is stay at home mom where the wife can’t fully understand the work situation. The coping strategies the subjects used are all forms of problem focused coping and emotion focused coping, except denial coping strategies where all the subjects admit the conflicts and keep thinking about those conflicts.Keywords: Work-family conflict , Coping stress, Male lecturers

Humor among teenagers is one form of language. Known language is an important basis for conveying messages, intentions, or objectives as the easiest container for disseminating popular elements within the community (DeVito, 2001). Research on humor has been done by linking humor with psychological aspects, but without the norm of the measuring instrument used. Based on the research on humor with emotional intelligence done by Wijaya and Basaria (2016) using a measuring instrument of emotional intelligence of humor, showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between emotional intelligence and humor neutral. As a follow-up to the results of it, we made instrument norm of sense of humor and also norms of emotional intelligence measuring instrument. The purpose of this study is to make the norms of measuring emotional intelligence and measuring instruments of humor in adolescents, aged 11-19 years old. Aim of this research are to investigate the impact of friendship and emotion intelligence on the life satisfaction of adolescence. 102 adolescences involve in the research. Data collecting by questionaries such as moral integrity, social anxiety and academic dishonesty. Multiple correlation was used to analysis the data. The findings suggest that there is no correlation moral integrity and academic dishonesty of adolescences, there is correlation between social anxiety and academic dishonesty, and there is no correlation between moral integrity and social anxiety. Ease of accessing information through internet causes primary school-age children to be vulnerable to exposure to matters related to sexuality and pornography. The limitations of parents and teachers in providing sexuality education leads to premature sexual behavior in primary school students. This study aims to explain the description of knowledge about sexuality in the students of grade IV-VI in SD N, which has a Buddhist background. Buddhism itself does not view sexuality as a wrong thing, but it takes awareness and self-control in dealing with it. Quantitative methods were carried out with a questionnaire involving 188 students. Furthermore, the qualitative method was conducted with group interviews of 12 students representatives. The results obtained are the majority of students in grade IV-VI in elementary school still have knowledge of sexuality in the low category. Differences in the level of knowledge appear to be influenced by the source of information obtained. Therefore, it is necessary to establish an appropriate school-based sexuality education and cultural context to students in grade IV-VI at SD N in Jakarta.Keywords: Sexuality education, elementary school, Buddhism school

Test is defined as an indicator of success for college students in education. As a result, college students often feel anxious when faced with test and this is called test anxiety. Test anxiety will negatively affect performance’s college students and inhibit student to complete their academic demands. Self-esteem becomes the main factor of college students experiencing test anxiety. The purpose of this study is explain the effectiveness of group intervention in improving self-esteem of college students who experience test anxiety. Intervention is conducted over 4 sessions (90 - 135 minutes each session) by including some strategies such as cognitive restructuring, study skills & habits, self-care, timing, mindfulness, breathing and relaxation techniques, self-control desensitization , and exercises manage distractions. This research method used one group before after design. The number of participants who followed the study were 5 college students. Based on the comparison of pre-test and post-test, the results were as following: (a) the anxiety test score of five participants decreased after therapy; (b) the self-esteem score of three participants increased after therapy. The five participants also showed more adaptable beliefs, decreased physiological reactions, and improved behavior that may degrade performance when dealing with test situations. In addition, all participants began to learn to see the positive qualities within themselves to improve their self-esteem. This study wanted to test the role of humor towards stress, with emotional intelligence as a mediator variable in adolescent. Research on humor in Indonesia has been done by involving the subject of a student who is writing a thesis, a student in the first year, a graduate student, as well as in middle adulthood. Based on this, researchers want to do further research to emphasize the role of humor with emotional intelligence as a mediator in adolescent. Research is done early in adolescent because the stressful sources of school and the peer group as part of the developmental tasks. Based on the results of this study found emotional intelligence has a role as a variable mediator of superiority humor and cognitive humor to stress.
