Abstract

Low student activeness remains a persistent challenge in history learning because classroom instruction is frequently teacher-centered, limiting students’ opportunities to participate, collaborate, and construct historical understanding. This study analyzed the implementation of gamification through Student-Centered Learning, examined its role in fostering student activeness, and identified supporting and inhibiting factors at SMAN 11 Tana Toraja. A qualitative case study was conducted using classroom observations, in-depth interviews with the principal, history teacher, and students, and document analysis. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, while trustworthiness was ensured through triangulation. The findings revealed that gamification was implemented through planning, design, implementation, reflection, and evaluation. This process enhanced students’ cognitive, behavioral, and social engagement through collaboration, historical inquiry, problem solving, and reflection. The study proposes a Gamification Implementation Model integrating Student-Centered Learning, student engagement, and student activeness, providing theoretical contributions and practical guidance for sustainable history learning in resource-constrained rural secondary schools.

Abstract

Social problems that go unaddressed can escalate into serious issues requiring law enforcement intervention. Juvenile delinquency, such as thuggery, alcohol consumption and drug abuse, can trigger street brawls when social control and parental supervision are weak. The increasingly anarchic nature of these brawls, coupled with the influence of social media, means this phenomenon spreads more easily and causes public unease. This study aims to formulate a collaborative policing model to prevent street brawls in the digital age. The research employs a qualitative approach through a review of the literature and empirical data based on the author’s experience whilst serving within the jurisdiction of the Metro Jaya Regional Police. The data were analysed using descriptive-qualitative methods through the identification and synthesis of findings relating to causal factors, prevention, policy implementation, collaborative policing, and e-Polmas. The research resulted in a model for preventing street brawls that involves the police, the government, schools, families and the community through six main components, namely problem mapping, a collaborative task force, an intervention programme, policy implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and digital collaboration. This model emphasises early detection, social intervention, cross-sectoral coordination and the utilisation of digital technology as an integrated and sustainable strategy for preventing street brawls.

Abstract

The road plot of Mrawan - Kalibaru Station in Operation Area 9 Jember is an area with an extreme level of disaster vulnerability, especially at the Mrawan BH 152A Tunnel Point (KM 30+777). The potential for infrastructure failures at this location can interfere with the safety and smooth operation of the train. This study aims to determine the priority maintenance of the Mrawan Tunnel components using the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method and evaluate the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for emergency response at the location. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques through observation, structured interviews, and documentation. The FMEA assessment involved five expert respondents from the infrastructure unit, while the SOP evaluation involved four informants from the operating unit. The validity test of the data uses source triangulation. The results of the FMEA analysis showed that the components with the highest Risk Priority Number (RPN) values were drainage (419,328), sunken ballas (374,272), and corrosion base plate (312,256). Meanwhile, the SOP evaluation showed that the implementation of emergency response in general was in accordance with PT KAI's regulations, but it was not optimal in terms of communication facilities, accessibility, and the absence of special SOPs for tunnel characteristics. This study recommends increasing the intensity of water control-based maintenance and the preparation of SOPs specifically for emergency response of the Mrawan Tunnel to mitigate operational risks

Abstract

Forest and land fires (karhutla) in Fifty City Regency represent a recurrent threat with severe environmental, social, and economic impacts. Although a regulatory framework exists under Regent Regulation No. 38 of 2018, the implementation of mitigation policies in the field continues to face structural obstacles. This study aims to critically analyze the implementation of forest and land fire disaster mitigation policies and identify the key factors determining their success. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were gathered through observations, documentation, and in-depth interviews with seven key informants selected via purposive sampling. Data were interactively analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that policy implementation is fairly effective but has not reached optimal performance. This status is evidenced by specific operational indicators, including low patrol frequency (once a month), uneven outreach coverage due to budget constraints, and inconsistent personnel competency enhancement. The primary structural barriers include severe personnel shortages (only 13 Brigade members), inadequate infrastructure and firebreaks, and the persistent practice of traditional land clearing by burning. Analytically, the study concludes that mitigation success is fundamentally constrained by institutional resource limitations. This research provides a scientific contribution by establishing an evaluation model for mitigation policies within institutional capacity constraints in fire-prone regions. Policy implications highlight the urgent need for local governments to strengthen operational funding, expand technical firebreak construction, and shift community engagement from passive

Abstract

Organizational transition presents significant challenges for educational institutions in maintaining teachers' organizational commitment. This study examined the influence of organizational justice, change management, and job satisfaction on teachers' organizational commitment during the organizational transition at XYZ School, Tangerang. A quantitative explanatory design with a census approach was employed, involving all 85 teachers. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analysed using descriptive statistics, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, partial (t) tests, simultaneous (F) tests, and the coefficient of determination (R²) with IBM SPSS Statistics version 26. The results show that organizational justice significantly influences organizational commitment (β = 0.282, p = 0.031), while job satisfaction has the strongest positive effect (β = 0.501, p < 0.001). In contrast, change management does not significantly influence organizational commitment (β = –0.052, p= 0.708). Collectively, the three independent variables significantly explain organizational commitment (F = 22.343, p < 0.001), accounting for 45.3% of the variance (R² = 0.453). These findings suggest that teachers’ perceptions of organizational justice and job satisfaction play a greater role than the current change-management process

Abstract

Faith-based elementary schools in religiously diverse cities face the dual challenge of instilling religious values while cultivating openness to difference, yet studies specifically examining how an inclusion model is applied to build multicultural values across different religious school settings within a single city remain limited. This study analyzes the implementation of an inclusion model for fostering multicultural values and strengthening students' diversity character in faith-based elementary schools in Medan City. A qualitative multisite case study design was used at SD Muhammadiyah 36 Medan, SD Methodist 9 Medan, SD Antonius V Medan, and Bodhicitta School Medan, with principals, teachers, and students as the main participants and parents as supporting informants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, documentation, and questionnaires, then analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, with trustworthiness established through source, technique, and time triangulation. Findings show that the inclusion model is applied through diversity-respecting school policies, integration of multicultural values into the curriculum, an inclusive school culture, teacher role modeling, and intracurricular, cocurricular, and extracurricular activities, and that this implementation is associated with stronger tolerance, empathy, cooperation, and peaceful conflict resolution among students. The study contributes a conceptual model of inclusion-based multicultural values development that positions principal leadership as the policy driver, teachers as facilitators of inclusive learning, school culture as the medium of value internalization, and stakeholder collaboration as the key factor in strengthening students' diversity character

Abstract

The integration of digital technology is crucial to meet 21st-century educational demands, particularly in fostering civic literacy. This study explores the potential of developing "Lumio by SMART" as an interactive digital learning medium to enhance fourth-grade students' understanding of Pancasila values. The study utilized a needs analysis approach through questionnaires distributed to fourth-grade elementary students, alongside a comprehensive literature review of recent studies on interactive educational media. The findings reveal a significant demand for digital integration, with 100% of surveyed students affirming that interactive features like animations, games, and quizzes improve their interest and comprehension. Furthermore, the literature review confirms that Lumio by SMART is a valid and practical platform that allows teachers to independently create engaging materials. It effectively boosts student engagement and significantly enhances basic civic literacy compared to traditional methods. In conclusion, Lumio by SMART serves as a highly effective tool for delivering Pancasila education. Utilizing this platform provides practical benefits for educators and fosters a dynamic learning environment. Future research should involve large-scale experimental studies to evaluate the long-term impacts of this digital platform on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Earthquake disasters pose a serious threat to school communities, yet conventional instructional media, being abstract and two-dimensional, fail to build strong disaster cognition among students, particularly in high-risk locations such as MA MILBoS, a boarding school situated along the active Citarik fault line. This study aimed to develop Media Disvir, a Virtual Reality-based Geography learning medium for earthquake disaster material, and to test its feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness in improving students' disaster cognition. The research employed a Research and Development approach using the ADDIE model, with the product built through MilleaLab software and trialed on students across limited, broad, and treatment classes at MA MILBoS. Data were collected through observation and questionnaires, then analyzed using expert validation percentages, practicality scoring, paired-sample t-tests, N-Gain analysis, and Cohen's D effect size. Results showed the medium was rated highly suitable by both content and media experts (98.3% and 90%), practical according to teachers and students (75%–86.78%), and highly effective in improving learning outcomes, with a high N-Gain (0.78) and a large effect size (-1.76). These findings confirm that Media Disvir successfully closed the cognitive gap identified at the outset, offering a safe, immersive alternative to direct disaster experience.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia's frontier regions face the dual challenge of nurturing devout religiosity while sustaining national commitment among Gen Z santri, a synergy that existing literature suggests is difficult to achieve given persistent gaps between moderation curricula and observable practice. This study examines how Pesantren Nurul Jannah in Natuna designs and implements modern Islamic education that integrates religious moderation and national insight, and identifies the institutional conditions enabling this integration in a geopolitically sensitive maritime border region. A qualitative case study approach was employed, involving 12 informants (kyai, ustadz, and santri) over three months of fieldwork, using participant observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis of curriculum and institutional records, analyzed through data reduction and presentation, and conclusions were drawn using source and method triangulation. Findings indicate that religious moderation and national insight are positioned as an interrelated pedagogical construct across curriculum, ceremonial practice, dialogical classroom relations, and extracurricular activities, rather than treated as separate programs. This integration appears to be supported by consistent leadership modeling and a geopolitically reinforced sense of civic mission distinctive to the border context. The study offers empirical insight into how frontier pesantren may operationalize moderation and nationalism jointly, with potential relevance to SDG 16 and SDG 4 insofar as it illustrates efforts toward fostering tolerant and socially cohesive younger generations, a link the analysis substantiates rather than merely asserts.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate exhibitor and buyer communication experiences at the 2026 edition of the Indonesia International Furniture Expo (IFEX), Indonesia’s leading B2B furniture trade show, using Uses and Gratifications Theory (U&G) and Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) theory as its framework. Using a mixed methods design, 193 exhibitors (purposive sampling) and 270 buyers/visitors (accidental sampling) completed an on site, QR code based questionnaire; closed ended items were analyzed descriptively, and open ended items were analyzed using reflexive thematic analysis. Results show buyers mainly attended IFEX to gratify cognitive/informational needs (market and trend updates, 43%) and social/integrative needs (business relations, 24%) rather than transactional needs (placing orders, 11%); these needs were largely met (99% found the products sought; interaction with exhibitors, M = 4.55/5). Organizer exhibitor communication was rated strongly (M = 3.29/4), while promotion effectiveness (M = 3.09/4) and visitor quality/engagement (M = 2.95/4) scored lowest. Sixty two percent of exhibitors reported quality leads, 70% reported at least one transaction, 51% of buyers had purchased, and 99.6% intended to return. These findings imply that IFEX gratifies buyers' informational needs effectively but needs stronger business matching and buyer acquisition mechanisms to convert engagement into measurable commercial outcomes.
