Abstract

This study aims to analyze institutional dynamics, spatial regulatory negotiations, and economic leakage mitigation strategies in the governance of conservation area-based tourism villages. Employing a qualitative approach with a comparative case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews with key stakeholders (management of Forest Farmer Groups/Pokdarwis, village governments, and regional enterprise/BUMD managers), participatory observation, and documentary research. Data were analyzed using a descriptive thematic approach. The results reveal three main findings: (1) the successful absorption of external grants was driven by proactive agency through administrative compliance (payment of Non-Tax State Revenue/PNBP) and strategic storytelling in national forums; (2) the legal constraints of 100% Protected Forest status and disaster vulnerability were navigated through commodity value-adding innovations, specifically the Geographical Indication (GI) registration of Matabulu Coffee and agricultural edutourism; and (3) the phenomenon of enclave tourism and economic leakage in the Leja Nature Recreation Park (TWA Leja) resulting from top-down designation can be mitigated through an Integrated Tourism Corridor model that connects cross-village potentials. This study offers a theoretical contribution to the Community-Based Tourism literature by deconstructing assumptions regarding the passive role of local communities, while providing policy implications that emphasize the importance of Quadruple Helix governance transformation and community-based capacity incubation. Future research is recommended to quantitatively measure the impact of economic leakage using Input-Output (I-O) analysis.

Abstract

Film reviews have shifted from long-form textual criticism toward dense, dynamic audiovisual narratives with the rise of TikTok; amid dominant fast-paced, emotional review styles, the account @kepinhelmy stands out for its contemplative, poetic tone and soft, deep-toned voice. While prior semiotic studies have examined self-image construction or humor on social media, few apply Ferdinand de Saussure's structural semiotics to a film-review creator's personal communication style, and existing literature tends to treat verbal and nonverbal elements separately rather than as one integrated sign system shaping digital persona and authority. This study analyzes the signifiers, signifieds, and their relations in representing @kepinhelmy's verbal and nonverbal communication style in reviews of Para Perasuk, Dusun Mayit, and Hoppers. Using a constructivist paradigm and descriptive qualitative method grounded in Saussure's framework, data were gathered through video documentation, verbatim transcription, and field notes on ten top-performing contents from October 2025 to March 2026. Findings show verbal signifiers appear through contemplative-poetic diction, analytical-philosophical narrative structure, and simplified technical terms, while nonverbal signifiers emerge through a soft intimate tone, measured tempo, direct eye contact, and medium close-up talking-head format—jointly constructing signifieds of philosophical reflection, emotional intimacy, and academic credibility. Theoretically, the study extends Saussurean semiotics into new media by revealing how digital parole works multimodally; practically, it offers content creators strategic guidance for building authentic persona through deliberate alignment of verbal and nonverbal signs.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (IRE) curriculum development needs to address not only religious knowledge but also student character formation in response to social change and technological development. This study aims to examine the direction of IRE curriculum development for student character formation through a qualitative literature study. The literature was regularly identified through Publish or Perish using the Google Scholar database and selected through a PRISMA-based screening process , covering publications from 2017 to 2025. Of the 213 articles identified in the initial search, 11 articles met the selection criteria and were included in the final analysis . The selected studies were analyzed using qualitative content analysis to identify recurring themes, findings, and limitations related to IRE curriculum development. The findings indicate that previous studies consistently position character formation, religious values, and moral development as important directions of IRE curriculum development. However, the existing literature remains fragmented across curriculum implementation, conceptual models, curriculum objectives, and learning strategies. Viewed through Tyler's curriculum rationale, the main gap lies in the limited alignment among educational objectives, learning experiences, their organization, and evaluation. Furthermore, digitalization, sociocultural diversity, and religious moderation have not yet been sufficiently integrated into IRE curriculum design. The study concludes that future IRE curriculum development should be oriented toward a value-based, contextual, integrative, and adaptive curriculum . This direction provides a conceptual foundation for developing and empirically testing IRE curriculum models that are more responsive to students' needs and contemporary educational challenges.

Abstract

The implementation of the Learning Environment Survey (Survei Lingkungan Belajar/Sulingjar) marks a policy shift in Indonesia's early childhood education (PAUD) quality evaluation, moving away from direct child testing toward institutional diagnostic assessments. However, existing literature primarily focuses on primary and secondary education levels, leaving a critical empirical gap regarding how Sulingjar is operationalized within suburban early childhood settings where severe resource disparities exist between formal Kindergartens (TK) and non-formal Playgroups (KB). This study analyzes the implementation process of Sulingjar, investigates its utilization for Data-Based Planning (Perencanaan Berbasis Data/PBD), and identifies the underlying operational barriers in suburban PAUD units. Employing a qualitative case study design, data were collected across three representative PAUD institutions in Sintuk Toboh Gadang District through in-depth interviews with six key informants (three principals and three teachers), direct observations, and document analyses. Data saturation guided sample determination, and Lincoln and Guba’s framework (credibility, transferability, dependability, confirmability) ensured trustworthiness. The findings reveal that Sulingjar successfully replaces direct child testing with an environment-based diagnostic framework, driving institutional budgeting (RKAS) and teacher pedagogical reflection. However, operational execution is constrained by internet instability, central server congestion, and complex pedagogical terminology, revealing a distinct digital readiness gap between formal and non-formal units. Theoretically, this study extends Bronfenbrenner’s Ecological Systems Theory by illustrating how macro-level evaluation policies reconfigure micro-level classroom practices; practically, it offers an empirical model of peer scaffolding and distributed leadership to overcome structural digital divides in suburban educational evaluation.

Abstract

Increasingly complex environmental degradation in Indonesia demands a shift in ecological awareness from an early age, yet environmental education at the elementary school level remains dominated by conventional, decontextualized instruction, while the use of augmented reality (AR) in Indonesian environmental education remains very limited. This study aims to describe the implementation process of a hybrid AR-based learning module integrating Experiential Learning Theory and Place-Based Education, while also examining its effectiveness on elementary students' ecological awareness. This study employed a Quasi-Experimental Design using a Nonequivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design, involving 67 fourth-grade students (34 experimental, 33 control) in Sukabumi Regency. The experimental group followed the hybrid AR module for eight weeks (16 sessions), while the control group received conventional instruction. Results showed excellent implementation fidelity (90.3%). The experimental group achieved moderate-category improvement in environmental knowledge (N-Gain 0.50; large effect size 1.87), pro-environmental attitude (N-Gain 0.53), and environmental concern/intention (N-Gain 0.49), substantially higher than the control group, which only reached the low category across all three dimensions (N-Gain 0.17–0.18). It is concluded that the hybrid AR module was well implemented and effectively enhances elementary students' ecological awareness holistically across the cognitive, affective, and conative dimensions, with potential for broader adaptation in environmental education in Indonesia.

Abstract

Malaria remains a major public health problem in Papua Province, Indonesia, particularly in Jayapura City. Muara Tami District is one of the endemic areas with substantial malaria transmission, influenced by environmental conditions and human activities that support mosquito-vector exposure. This study aimed to identify the demographic characteristics of malaria patients and examine their spatial distribution in Muara Tami District using a Geographic Information System (GIS). An observational study with descriptive and spatial analysis was conducted using malaria case data recorded in 2025 from the Jayapura City Health Office and primary health centers in Muara Tami District. Patient characteristics were analyzed according to sex and age group, while GIS was used to visualize the distribution of cases at the village level. The results identified 10,869 malaria cases, with males accounting for a greater proportion of cases than females. The highest proportion was observed among individuals aged 21–30 years, indicating a substantial burden among the productive-age population. Spatial analysis showed an uneven distribution of cases, with the highest concentration occurring in Koya Barat, followed by Holtekamp, Koya Timur, and Koya Tengah. The study contributes a village-level spatial perspective by integrating demographic characteristics with malaria case distribution in an endemic border district. The findings indicate that GIS-based mapping can support the identification of priority areas and population groups for more spatially targeted malaria surveillance and control interventions in Muara Tami District.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between the implementation of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) in the welding laboratory and students' learning outcomes at SMK Negeri 10 in Semarang. The welding laboratory, as a practical training area, carries high work risks, making the application of OSH crucial to ensure safety, prevent accidents, and create a conducive learning environment. This research uses a quantitative descriptive approach with data collected through observations, questionnaires, and documentation of student learning outcomes. The data collection technique consists of a Google Form-based questionnaire with 50 questions about workplace safety risks, the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and the laboratory environment conditions. The results show that risk identification scored 83%, likelihood analysis 84%, impact analysis 83%, and control measures 77%. These findings show that a good level of occupational safety and health (OSH) implementation has a positive impact on students' concentration, motivation, and safety during practice, which directly improves the quality of learning outcomes. This study recommends strengthening OSH protocols, providing regular training for students, and ensuring adequate safety facilities as strategic steps to boost academic achievement and vocational skills in welding.
