Abstract

This community service activity aimed to improve elementary school teachers' competence in developing STEMpreneur-based learning devices oriented toward enhancing students' creativity. The activity was conducted at SDN Sidorejo Krian in February 2026, involving 20 teachers as participants. The method used a two-day workshop designed through three main stages: planning, implementation, and evaluation, combining material presentation, interactive discussions, and hands-on practice in designing STEMpreneur-based learning devices. To measure the success of the activity objectively, data were collected through multiple instruments: pretest and posttest to measure improvement in teachers' understanding of STEMpreneur concepts, product assessment rubrics to evaluate the quality of learning devices developed by participants, and participant satisfaction questionnaires. Data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative techniques. The results showed a significant improvement in teachers' understanding, with an average pretest score of 58.4 increasing to 83.7 in the posttest (an increase of 43.3%). The learning devices produced by participants achieved an average score of 81.6 (good category), indicating that teachers were able to develop STEMpreneur-based lesson plans, teaching modules, and project designs that were relevant, innovative, and applicable in the classroom. Participant satisfaction also reached a very high category (average score of 4.5 out of 5). These findings indicate that the workshop not only improved teachers' understanding but also produced tangible outputs in the form of quality learning devices. Thus, the STEMpreneur workshop can serve as an effective strategy for enhancing teachers' competence in developing innovative learning that supports twenty-first century skills. This activity is expected to be implemented sustainably and expanded on a broader scale to provide more optimal impacts on the quality of learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

Public policy affects citizens’ daily lives, yet policy information is often communicated in technical and formal language that can be difficult for the public to understand. This community service program aimed to strengthen the capacity of the ManifesThink youth community in Surabaya to translate complex policy issues into accessible public education content through podcasts. The program adopted a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach involving eight active community members as co-designers, policy issue researchers, scriptwriters, hosts, producers, and digital dissemination managers. Conducted from July to December 2025, the activities included an initial assessment and focus group discussion, workshops on policy issue research, audio-script writing and podcast production, collaborative script development, recording and post-production, digital dissemination, and final evaluation. The program produced PolCast (Policy Podcast) ManifesThink as a community-managed policy literacy platform and generated seven educational podcast episodes, exceeding the initial target of five episodes. Evaluation results showed that the participants’ average capacity score increased from 56.5 in the pre-test to 73.0 in the post-test, representing an improvement of 16.5 points or approximately 29.2%. Improvements were observed across four areas: policy issue research, audio-script writing, podcast production techniques, and digital dissemination strategies, with the largest improvement occurring in podcast production skills. These findings indicate that participatory podcast production can strengthen both the substantive and technical capacities of youth communities to communicate public policy issues in a more accessible and engaging manner. The program also demonstrates the potential of community-managed podcasts as a sustainable medium for expanding policy literacy and public access to policy information.

Abstract

Malnutrition remains a major public health issue in rural areas of Indonesia, characterized by the prevalence of undernutrition such as stunting and wasting, alongside rising rates of overnutrition including obesity. This condition is worsened by low levels of nutrition literacy, particularly among vulnerable groups such as pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, caregivers of young children, and the elderly. This community service program aimed to enhance public understanding of balanced nutrition through a participatory, community-based education approach. The intervention was conducted in Tanjungkenongo Village using a one-group pretest–posttest design with a five-item true–false questionnaire. Results from the Paired Sample T-Test revealed a statistically significant improvement in participants’ knowledge scores (p < 0.001), with the mean score increasing from 3.00 in the pre-test to 3.43 in the post-test. These findings confirm that balanced nutrition education can effectively improve nutrition literacy among rural vulnerable populations. The program is recommended for integration into village-level health promotion efforts such as posyandu and women’s community groups to support sustained efforts in addressing the double burden of malnutrition.

Abstract

The Muhammadiyah Student Association (IPM) is a student cadre organization that plays a strategic role in developing leadership at the secondary school level. Advances in science and technology and the demands of the disruptive era require student organizations to develop adaptive leadership models with integrity, while remaining grounded in Islamic values and the principles of the Muhammadiyah organization. Therefore, strengthening modern leadership is necessary so that IPM cadres have an adequate understanding of leadership values, models, ideologies, principles, and systems that are relevant to current developments. Modern leadership strengthening activities are carried out in three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The implementation phase uses interactive lectures, discussions, role-playing, and case studies. This approach is used to provide participants with conceptual understanding and practical experience in identifying and resolving organizational leadership issues based on Islamic values and Muhammadiyah principles. The activities demonstrated an increase in participants' cognitive understanding of leadership values, principles, models, and systems that are in accordance with Muhammadiyah organizational rules. Participants also demonstrated an increased ability to understand the characteristics of modern leadership and connect them with Islamic values in organizational practice. Furthermore, the activity strengthened participants' belief that Islamic leadership should not be understood solely as a normative concept, but should be implemented in attitudes, decision-making, responsibility, role-modeling, and organizational activities. The results of the activity demonstrated that strengthening leadership through a combination of lectures, discussions, role-plays, and case studies can help participants integrate modern leadership understanding with Islamic values and Muhammadiyah principles. Thus, the leadership of IPM cadres is not only directed at organizational management skills but also at developing the character of leaders with integrity, adaptability, responsibility, and the ability to serve as role models.
