Abstract

The agricultural sector is one of the leading sectors in the development of the national economy. Agriculture in Indonesia consists of several sub-sectors, namely food crops, horticulture, livestock, and plantations. Curup Selatan District is one of the areas that contributes to the production of agricultural commodities, particularly in the horticulture sub-sector in Rejang Lebong Regency. The purpose of this study is to determine the basic and non-basic sectors in the vegetable crop commodities of the horticulture sub-sector. To identify the basic and non-basic sectors, the Location Quotient (LQ) analysis method was used. The results showed that three commodities had the highest LQ values in Curup Selatan District, namely cucumber (LQ = 2.62), long beans (LQ = 2.10), and eggplant (LQ = 1.65). In total, seven horticultural commodities were identified as belonging to the basic sector: large chili (LQ = 1.26), tomato (LQ = 1.20), eggplant (LQ = 1.65), bird’s eye chili (LQ = 1.24), long beans (LQ = 2.10), cucumber (LQ = 2.62), and chayote (LQ = 1.10). Meanwhile, seven other commodities were classified as non-basic sectors, including cabbage (LQ = 0.76), potato (LQ = 0.42), petsai (LQ = 0.78), leek (LQ = 0.64), green beans (LQ = 0.94), water spinach (LQ = 0.30), and carrot (LQ = 0.51). These findings can serve as a foundation for policymaking in the development of the horticultural sector in the region.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of adaptive leadership by a school principal in managing teachers’ adaptive challenges in an elementary school. The research employed a qualitative approach with a single case study design. The participant was a principal selected purposively as the key informant. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews and documentation, and analyzed using thematic analysis supported by MAXQDA software and the Miles and Huberman interactive analysis model. Data credibility was ensured through member checking. The findings indicate that the implementation of adaptive leadership is characterized by the dominant practices of holding environment, giving the work back, and protecting voices from below. The principal created a psychologically safe space for dialogue, actively involved teachers in problem solving, and protected diverse perspectives within the organization. The challenges faced by teachers were not only technical but also adaptive, particularly related to mindset changes in inclusive education practices. Resistance appeared in the form of anxiety and professional uncertainty, which were managed through open communication and collaboration. The study concludes that adaptive leadership is effective when it emphasizes psychological safety, collective participation, and teacher empowerment as agents of change. These findings contribute to strengthening school leadership practices that are responsive to the complexity of educational change

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low ability of students to write. This is caused by the lack of variety of learning models used by educators. The use of varied, creative and innovative learning models can make students more active and motivated during learning activities. One of the learning models that can be used is the self-directed learning model. The purpose of this research was to test the writer's ability to plan, implement, and assess learning to write poetry using the self-directed learning model, to test the ability of class X students at SMAN 9 Bandung in writing poetry, to test the effectiveness of the self-directed learning model in learning to write poetry , as well as to determine differences in writing ability between the experimental class using the self-directed learning model and the control class using the question and answer method. The research method used is a quantitative method with the type of quasi-experimental research using literature review, trial and error, observation, and test techniques. The data obtained were in the form of students' pretest and posttest from both the experimental class and the control class. The results of this study: 1) The author is able to plan, implement, and evaluate learning to write poetry using the self-directed learning model with an average planning score of 3.7 and an implementation value of 3.9. 2) The ability of students in writing poetry has increased with an average pretest score of 55.4 to a posttest with an average score of 82,9. 3) The self-directed learning model is effectively used in learning to write poetry. This is evidenced by the results of the Mann-Whitney test with sig. 0.000 <0.05 there is a significant difference between the experimental class and the control class. Based on the explanation above, the self-directed learning model is effectively used in learning to write poetry.

Abstract

Character building is a fundamental aspect of education; however, its implementation still faces various challenges, particularly in the context of cultural globalization. Normative and insufficiently contextualized character education makes character values difficult to internalize in students’ behavior. This article aims to examine the implementation of character building based on local wisdom and the factors that influence its success in shaping students’ attitudes and behaviors. This study employs a qualitative approach using the library research method. Data were collected by analyzing various literature sources, such as journal articles, books, and the results of previous studies related to the object of study. The findings indicate that the integration of local wisdom values into learning processes and school culture can strengthen students’ character formation in a contextual and sustainable manner. The success of the implementation is influenced by educators’ commitment, exemplary conduct, and support from the school environment and the community. These findings emphasize the importance of local wisdom as a strategic foundation in character education.

Abstract

This research aims to examine and identify children's interests and talents based on the stages of age development, as well as analyze the role of non-formal education in supporting the development process. The research was carried out at Sanggar Deli Nusantara using a descriptive qualitative approach. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation by involving elementary school and junior high school (SMP) students, activity coaches, and parents as research informants. The findings of the study show that there are differences in the development of children's interests according to the age phase. Children at the elementary level are at the exploratory stage with a tendency to try various activities, while students at the junior high school level are starting to show more directed and consistent interest. Identified talents include verbal-linguistic, dramatic-expressive, interpersonal, intrapersonal, creative-imaginative, and leadership skills. The non-formal education environment plays a role as an adaptive and supportive learning space in increasing children's confidence, intrinsic motivation, and social skills. In addition, parental support is an important factor in maintaining the sustainability of children's potential development. The results of the study confirm that the development of interests and talents is a gradual process influenced by the development of age, the quality of the learning environment, and family involvement. Thus, non-formal education has a strategic role in supporting the development of children's potential in a comprehensive and sustainable manner.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between leg length and the results of running 100 meters in athletic athletes of the University of Muhammadiyah Sorong. The study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design to determine the level of relationship between anthropometric variables and sprint performance. The research sample amounted to 30 student athletes who were selected through purposive sampling techniques with the criteria of active students, registered as members of the Athletic UKM, and in good physical condition at the time of data collection. Leg length was measured using an anthropometer from the superior anterior iliac spina to the sole of the foot, while 100-metre running performance was measured using a digital stopwatch on a standard track, with two trials and best times taken. Data analysis was carried out through descriptive statistics, normality tests, and Pearson Product Moment correlation tests at a significance level of 0.05. The results showed a significant negative relationship between leg length and 100-meter running time (r = -0.62; p < 0.05). The determination coefficient of 0.38 showed that leg length contributed 38% to the variation in the results of the 100-meter run. These findings indicate that the longer the athlete's legs, the greater the potential to produce longer steps that support the achievement of maximum speed. Thus, leg length is one of the factors that contribute to sprint performance, although it is still influenced by other factors such as muscle strength, power, and running technique.

Abstract

The suboptimal learning outcomes of students in Civics subjects serve as the primary background for this research. This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of third-grade students at SDN Kebun Ubi in the material "My Identity and Diversity" through the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model. The research method employed is Classroom Action Research (PTK), which was conducted over two cycles. The research design follows the Kemmis and McTaggart model, utilizing a spiral system consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects consisted of 15 students with a Minimum Mastery Criterion (KKM) of 75. The findings revealed that in the pre-cycle activities, the average student score was only 66.0, with a completion percentage of 33.3%. In cycle I, the average score increased to 79.0, with a completion percentage of 73.3%. Ultimately, in cycle II, the average student score rose to 88.5, with the completion percentage reaching 100%, indicating that all students had achieved mastery. This improvement occurred because the PjBL model was able to enhance students' enthusiasm and motivation, making them more active in following the learning activities. Thus, it can be concluded that the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model is effective in improving student learning outcomes in Civics subjects.
