Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the cognitive development of hyperactive children aged 5 and 6 years at Adhyaksa 1 Kindergarten in Jambi, focusing on the memory domain based on Bloom's Taxonomy. These early childhood children are in the golden age, when appropriate stimulation is crucial, but children with hyperactivity disorder or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) often have difficulty concentrating and controlling behavior that has a negative impact. This study was conducted using a qualitative approach, a case study type. Data were collected through interviews and observations five times every month with parents as informants. Four measures of memory ability—naming, recognizing, imitating, and matching—were included in the research tool. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation and interviews. The results showed that the cognitive development of hyperactive children in the memory domain was more prominent in the ability to imitate and recognize, while the ability to name and match still requires continuous stimulation.

Abstract

Increasingly fierce competition in the culinary business requires entrepreneurs to implement appropriate and sustainable marketing strategies to increase sales. This study aims to analyze the application of Ansoff Matrix-based marketing strategies in increasing sales at Rumah Makan Dendeng Batokok, located on Jalan Rumah Sakit Haji Medan. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews with business owners, employees, and customers, direct observation, and documentation. Data analysis was performed thematically using the Miles and Huberman interactive model with the assistance of NVivo 15 software. The results showed that market penetration was the most dominant strategy applied, through consistency in taste, improved service quality, cleanliness, and simple promotion through social media, which contributed to increased customer loyalty and sales stability. Product development was carried out by adding menu variety and product innovation to increase consumer appeal. The market development strategy was implemented through the opening of new branches, which successfully expanded market share and increased the number of customers. Meanwhile, the diversification strategy is still in the planning stage due to limited capital and resources. Overall, the application of a combination of strategies in the Ansoff Matrix has proven to contribute positively to increased sales and strengthened competitiveness for Rumah Makan Dendeng Batokok amid competition in the culinary industry. Abstract

Learning planning is a fundamental aspect of the implementation of teaching and learning in elementary schools, as it directly affects the quality of the learning process and student learning outcomes. In the implementation of the Deep Learning Curriculum, elementary school teachers are required to design learning plans that are flexible, contextual, and student-centered. However, in practice, teachers still face challenges such as limited time and a high administrative workload. The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) offers new opportunities to be utilized as a teaching assistant in learning planning. This study aims to describe the utilization of artificial intelligence as a teacher assistant in elementary school learning planning, as well as teachers’ perceptions of its ease of use and usefulness. The research method employed was a descriptive survey involving elementary school teachers as participants. The research instrument was a questionnaire measuring aspects of ease of use and the perceived usefulness of AI in learning planning. The results indicate that the use of AI helps teachers more efficiently formulate learning objectives, teaching modules, and assessment tools. Teachers perceive AI as a supportive tool that assists their professional tasks without replacing their pedagogical role. This study concludes that artificial intelligence has the potential to become an effective assistant for elementary school teachers in learning planning.

Abstract

The science learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Lamcot are still suboptimal due to teacher-centered learning and limited use of models and media that promote student engagement in the learning process. This study aimed to examine the effect of the Make a Match learning model assisted by Explosion Box media on students’ science learning outcomes on local wisdom topics. The study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a nonequivalent control group. The subjects consisted of 44 students divided into an experimental class and a control class. The instruments used were pretest and posttest, and the data were analyzed using an Independent Sample t-test through SPSS version 25. The results showed that the average pretest scores of the experimental and control classes were 46.82 and 38.86, respectively. After implementing the Make a Match model assisted by Explosion Box media, the average posttest score of the experimental class increased to 86.36, while the control class reached only 71.14. Analysis indicated that this difference was significant (p = 0.00 < 0.05). Thus, the Make a Match model assisted by Explosion Box media has a significant effect on the science learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Lamcot

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the leadership of school principals in the context of 21st-century education, focusing on the five competencies of school principals as outlined in the Ministry of Education and Culture Regulation No. 6 of 2018. This study also analyzes the implementation of transformational leadership and spirituality, as well as the strategies used by school principals in building a positive school culture. The methodology employed includes interviews, observations, questionnaires, and documentation with subjects consisting of the School Principal and Teachers at UPT SPF SD Negeri BTN IKIP II. The results of the study indicate that the school principal applies a democratic and transformational leadership style, which focuses on managing the school's vision and mission while motivating relevant parties to achieve shared goals.

Abstract

This research addresses the modern debate between Islam and secularism regarding religious freedom and the role of religion in the state. The purpose of this study is to clarify misunderstandings held by secular scientists about Islam and to improve the understanding of religion’s role in public life. Utilizing a descriptive- comparative approach through literature review, this study examines definitions from various figures and Islamic sources. The results indicate that Islam and secularism are fundamentally different and often contradictory concepts. Islam is a comprehensive (syumul) and perfect (kaffah) religion that regulates all aspects of life, including law and politics. Conversely, secularism separates religion from the state and limits it to the private sphere. While countries like Indonesia adopt a unique system that blends these elements, the study concludes that secularism opposes the implementation of Sharia. To resolve these tensions, secularists are encouraged to study Islam from its original sources, namely the Quran and Hadith.

Abstract

This study analyzes Islamic Education (PAI) material in addressing the moral challenges faced by Generation Z in the modern digital era. The research is motivated by the increasing moral degradation among youth influenced by globalization, technological advancement, and the shift in value systems. The main objective is to examine how PAI materials in school curricula can respond to these moral challenges and contribute to the formation of noble character. This descriptive qualitative study employs library research as its primary method, utilizing books, journals, and related scientific articles as data sources. The data were analyzed through content analysis by identifying, classifying, and interpreting the moral values embedded within the PAI learning materials. The findings show that PAI materials still possess strong potential to strengthen students’ moral reasoning, particularly by emphasizing prophetic values such as honesty, responsibility, empathy, and social awareness. However, the integration of these values into the learning process remains limited and often less adaptive to the digital habits of Generation Z. The study concludes that revitalizing PAI material with contextual approaches, including digital-based learning and contemporary moral case studies, is essential to make moral education more relatable and effective for today’s youth.

Abstract

Quantitative research requires accurate statistical analysis to ensure that the results obtained are valid and scientifically accountable. One important stage in statistical analysis is assumption testing, particularly normality and homogeneity tests, which are prerequisites for the use of parametric statistical methods. This article aims to discuss the concepts, roles, and applications of normality and homogeneity tests in statistical analysis. The research method used is qualitative research with a li brary research approach through the study of statistical textbooks and relevant national and international journal articles. The results of the discussion show that the normality test plays a role in ensuring that the data distribution approximates a normal distribution, while the homogeneity test is used to ensure the uniformity of variance between data groups. Fulfilling these two assumptions allows researchers to use parametric statistical techniques appropriately and reduce the risk of bias in the analysis. Thus, a good understanding of normality and homogeneity tests is very important to improve the quality of data analysis and the accuracy of research conclusions.

Abstract

Critical thinking is an important skill that needs to be developed from elementary school. This study aims to analyze the critical thinking skills of fourth-grade students in solving problems on the topic "Becoming an Environmental Hero." The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through essay tests and interviews. The analysis of critical thinking skills was based on Perkins and Murphy's indicators, namely clarification, assessment, inference, and strategy. The results showed that students' critical thinking skills were in various categories and relatively low. Most students experienced difficulties in the clarification and assessment stages, which resulted in low ability to draw conclusions and determine problem-solving strategies. These findings demonstrate the need for contextual and process-oriented learning to develop elementary school students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Waste management issues represent a serious challenge in Indonesia, exacerbated by population growth, urbanization, and the suboptimal level of community participation in waste segregation and policy implementation. In this context, early education at the elementary school level is recognized as a fundamental instrument for instilling awareness and responsible habits related to waste management. This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of using segregated waste bins, particularly those modified with sound or visual features, in improving students’ waste disposal accuracy at SDN Ciherang. This approach is based on the concept that segregated waste bins can function as constant pedagogical tools by providing visual cues and feedback that encourage positive behavioral change. This study employed a quasi-experimental design using a Nonequivalent Control Group Pretest–Posttest approach involving two groups of students at SDN Ciherang. Quantitative data were collected through behavioral observations and waste audits to measure segregation accuracy, while qualitative data were obtained through questionnaires and interviews to understand students’ perceptions and motivations. The hypothetical results indicate a significant increase in waste segregation accuracy in the experimental group using the modified waste bins, from 45.2% to 88.5%, whereas the control group showed no significant change. The sound and visual features of the waste bins hypothetically contributed to increased student enthusiasm and understanding, as well as positive changes in waste segregation behavior. It is concluded that the use of segregated waste bins modified with sound or visual features is hypothetically highly effective in improving proper waste disposal and fostering environmental awareness among elementary school students. These findings suggest that interactive infrastructure design can serve as an important component of a comprehensive environmental education strategy.
