Abstract

This study aims to analyze how the role of science and natural sciences learning in developing critical thinking skills of students at SDN Bertingkat Naikoten 1. The focus of this study is to analyze the role of science and natural sciences learning in developing critical thinking skills of fifth grade students at SDN Bertingkat Naikoten 1. The Independent Curriculum emphasizes the importance of mastering critical thinking skills as an essential competency that must be possessed by 21st century students, by integrating science and social concepts considered relevant as a vehicle for developing these abilities. Science and natural sciences learning plays an important role in developing critical thinking skills of elementary school students through observation, exploration, and problem-solving activities that encourage students to analyze information, make the right decisions, and understand cause and effect relationships and everyday phenomena. The subjects of this study involved homeroom teachers VA and six students of class VA. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques through classroom observation and in-depth interviews. The results of this study indicate that science and natural sciences function as an effective driving factor in stimulating students' high-level cognitive abilities, especially in the aspect of critical thinking.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the utilization of digital technology in elementary school learning and analyze the supporting policies and challenges, specifically at SDN X Merangin. Digital technology utilization plays an essential role in enhancing learning quality, teacher-student interaction, and educational administration. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with four teachers and one principal as subjects. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation, then analyzed thematically. The results indicate that digital technology has been applied to support both online and offline learning; however, its implementation is influenced by device availability, teacher capacity, and school policy support. Key challenges include limited internet access, resistance from some teachers to innovation, and lack of intensive training. Overall, digital technology utilization has the potential to improve learning effectiveness but requires adaptive policies and continuous teacher training.

Abstract

The current era of globalization is considered very important, especially to improve the quality of education at the Elementary School (SD) level. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has a crucial role in improving the quality of learning by utilizing various applications, one of which is Canva, which is a solution for electronic-based learning. Canva allows learning material creators to create interesting and interactive content.This research was conducted with the aim of implementing Canva as a learning media for Pancasila Education at SDN Ketileng 2 Cilegon City. The research method used is qualitative, which involves an in-depth description of the experiences and perceptions of learners and teachers towards the use of Canva in the learning process. The results showed that Canva is effective in increasing students' interest including Pancasila Education, by providing a more interactive and fun learning experience. The application of technology in education has great potential to create more inclusive and meaningful learning. This research underlines the importance of continuing to develop and strengthen the application of technology in education as a strategic step to prepare the younger generation to face the challenges of globalization and accelerating technological advances. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of education policies at SMPN 51 Merangin, specifically the implementation of the Independent Curriculum, literacy and numeracy achievements, and the utilization of school infrastructure. The background of the study stems from low national learning outcomes and disparities in education quality between regions (OECD, 2023; Ministry of Education and Culture, 2023; World Bank, 2022). The study used a qualitative approach with a case study design through interviews, observations, and analysis of school documents. The results show that the implementation of the Independent Curriculum is not optimal due to variations in teachers' understanding of differentiated learning and authentic assessment. Student literacy and numeracy achievements remain low, at 35% and 43%, respectively. Infrastructure such as digital devices, internet access, and project learning facilities are also limited. These findings confirm that teacher competence, school resource readiness, and the learning environment play a critical role in the success of policy implementation. The study recommends improving teachers' pedagogical competence, strengthening learning support facilities, and implementing literacy and numeracy program interventions to improve the quality of education in remote schools.Keywords: keyword 1, keyword 2, keyword 3

Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of the Merdeka curriculum at MAN Bantaeng. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Merdeka curriculum, the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5), and obstacles in implementing the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project. The research approach used is qualitative with a descriptive research type that aims to determine the implementation of the Merdeka curriculum. This research was conducted at MAN Bantaeng, in the even semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. The data sources for this study were the principal, teachers, and students who determined the research subjects themselves through criteria determined by the researcher, namely being willing to conduct interviews, teachers in charge of the curriculum, and students at MAN Bantaeng. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, documentation, and literature studies. The data analysis methods used consisted of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Based on the results of research through the process of observation and interviews with subject teachers, curriculum teachers and students on June 10, 2024, the implementation of the independent curriculum at MAN Bantaeng began in 2022 and then became the first madrasah school to implement the independent curriculum in Bantaeng district. In its implementation in the first year it did not run optimally due to the need for continuous adaptation, however, as the implementation and learning process progressed, teachers continued to provide understanding to students regarding the independent curriculum. Based on the results of interviews with the Principal of Madrasah, Deputy Head of Curriculum, Subject Teachers and students of MAN Bantaeng, the Implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) has been carried out in accordance with the themes and characteristics of learning by MAN Bantaeng by raising several themes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of ethics in education through a case study at SMPN 51 Merangin. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study type through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation techniques. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña (2020) model which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of ethics at SMPN 51 Merangin is in the good to very good category, especially in the aspect of teacher professional ethics. Based on the data obtained, the level of teacher ethics implementation reached 86.4%, reflecting discipline, exemplary behavior, communication ethics, integrity, and compliance with the code of ethics. Meanwhile, the implementation of ethics among students showed a percentage of 73.2% with the highest achievement in the indicators of cooperation and tolerance, and the lowest achievement in the indicator of honesty. Documentation data also showed 27 student violations during one semester, dominated by lateness violations. These findings indicate that although teacher ethics are strongly reflected in daily practice, strengthening ethics in students still needs improvement, particularly in the areas of responsibility, honesty, and compliance with school rules. Overall, the implementation of ethics at SMPN 51 Merangin has been quite effective, but further strategies involving collaboration between the school, family, and the social environment are still needed to achieve optimal student character.

Abstract

Grade V students of SDIT Al-Ghozali showed low enthusiasm in learning Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS), particularly on the topic of light, due to the use of conventional worksheets that were monotonous and less engaging. This condition hindered the learning process, indicating the need for innovative, interactive learning media that align with students’ characteristics. This study aimed to develop and evaluate a comic-based electronic worksheet (E-LKPD) using the Canva application for the light topic for Grade V students in the 2024/2025 academic year. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which consists of the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The research subjects included media, language, and content experts as validators, as well as 24 Grade V students as trial respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively to determine validity, effectiveness, and user responses. The results showed that the comic-based E-LKPD demonstrated a very high level of validity, with feasibility percentages of 94% from media experts, 92% from language experts, and 96% from content experts. Student responses to the use of the E-LKPD reached 94%, while teacher evaluations achieved 100%. Student learning outcomes also improved significantly, as indicated by post-test scores ranging from 71 to 100 and an average N-Gain score of 0.6, categorized as moderately effective. Therefore, the comic-based E-LKPD is considered feasible, engaging, and effective as a learning medium that supports 21st-century education.

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that remains prevalent among elementary school children and can have long-term impacts on health, learning capacity, and overall human resource quality. Environmental factors, particularly sanitation conditions and access to clean water, play a crucial role in supporting optimal child growth and development. This study aimed to analyze the influence of environmental sanitation and access to clean water on the occurrence of stunting among elementary school students. A quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design was employed in this study. The research participants consisted of 60 elementary school students from SDN Citerep. Stunting status was determined through anthropometric measurements based on height-for-age standards, while data on environmental sanitation and access to clean water were collected using structured questionnaires completed by parents or guardians. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive and analytical methods through cross-tabulation to examine the distribution and associations between variables. The results showed that the prevalence of stunting among elementary school students was 30.0%. Stunting was more frequently observed among students living in environments with poor sanitation, where 14 out of 30 students were classified as stunted, compared to those with good sanitation conditions. In addition, a higher proportion of stunting cases was found among students with inadequate access to clean water, with 13 out of 25 students experiencing stunting, compared to students who had adequate access to clean water. These findings indicate that environmental sanitation and access to clean water are influential factors associated with the occurrence of stunting among elementary school students. Therefore, stunting prevention efforts should adopt an integrated approach that not only focuses on improving nutritional intake but also emphasizes the improvement of environmental sanitation and the expansion of adequate clean water access in both household and school settings.

Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengkaji penggunaan model pembelajaran Snowball Throwing dalam rangka meningkatkan partisipasi siswa pada pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS) di kelas VIII B SMPN 1 Galesong Selatan. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan klasifikasi penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilakukan dalam beberapa siklus melalui langkah-langkah perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa dari kelas VIII B, sedangkan objeknya adalah tingkat keaktifan siswa selama proses pembelajaran. Data dikumpulkan melalui pengamatan langsung dan dokumentasi, selanjutnya dianalisis dengan cara deskriptif kualitatif. Temuan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran Snowball Throwing berhasil meningkatkan keaktifan belajar siswa secara signifikan. Peningkatan tersebut dapat dilihat dari keberanian siswa dalam memberikan dan menjawab pertanyaan, partisipasi dalam diskusi kelompok, serta frekuensi interaksi sosial di antara siswa selama pembelajaran IPS. Model ini juga mampu menciptakan suasana belajar yang lebih menyenangkan, interaktif, dan bebas dari tekanan, sehingga siswa yang tadinya kurang aktif menjadi lebih percaya diri dan bersemangat dalam mengikuti pembelajaran.

Abstract

Rendahnya minat peserta didik terhadap seni tari tradisional menjadi tantangandalam pembelajaran seni budaya di sekolah dasar. Tari Jenang Kudus sebagaisalah satu warisan budaya daerah perlu dikenalkan melalui strategi pembelajaranyang mampu menarik perhatian dan meningkatkan keterlibatan peserta didik.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penerapan metode drill andpractice dengan model ARCS (Attention, Relevance, Confidence, Satisfaction)terhadap peningkatan minat belajar seni tari Jenang pada siswa sekolah dasar.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain satu kelompok pretest–posttest. Subjek penelitian adalah 22 siswa kelas IV SD 1Panjang Kabupaten Kudus pada semester gasal Tahun Ajaran 2025/2026. Datadikumpulkan melalui angket minat belajar yang telah divalidasi oleh ahli,wawancara tidak terstruktur, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan ujinormalitas, uji paired sample t-test, dan uji N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkanadanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara skor pretest dan posttest minat belajarpeserta didik dengan nilai Sig. (2-tailed) < 0,05. Skor minat belajar meningkat dari42,64 menjadi 66,73. Nilai N-Gain minat sebesar 0,64 berada pada kategori sedang.Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode drill and practice dengan modelARCS efektif dalam meningkatkan minat belajar seni tari Jenang Kudus di sekolahdasar.
