Abstract

This study aims to compare the education curricula of Indonesia and Singapore, focusing on structure, content, learning approaches, and outcomes. Curriculum plays a vital role in shaping the quality and direction of education systems. The method used in this study is a literature review with a qualitative comparative approach. The findings reveal that Singapore's curriculum is more structured, oriented towards 21st-century competencies, and emphasizes conceptual mastery and practical application. In contrast, Indonesia's curriculum is still evolving towards a more contextual and competency-based approach, but faces implementation challenges. These findings suggest that Indonesia can draw valuable insights from Singapore’s curriculum system to improve its national education quality.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the elementary education curricula implemented in Indonesia and the Philippines, focusing on curriculum structure, learning approaches, educational goals, and core subjects taught at the primary school level. The background of this research is rooted in the importance of understanding the differences in educational systems within Southeast Asia to identify opportunities for collaboration and quality improvement through the exchange of best practices between countries. The study was conducted through a literature review and analysis of official documents from each country's Ministry of Education, along with secondary references from international organizations such as UNESCO and SEAMEO. The findings show that although both countries have a six-year duration for elementary education, there are fundamental differences in their curriculum approaches, where Indonesia currently implements the Merdeka Curriculum emphasizing the Pancasila student profile and differentiated instruction, while the Philippines adopts the K to 12 Curriculum focusing on core competencies and 21st-century skills development. The Indonesian curriculum tends to emphasize contextual learning and local wisdom, whereas the Philippine curriculum integrates an outcome-based education approach with standardized national benchmarks. The conclusion of this study suggests that both countries possess unique strengths and challenges, and mutual learning from each other's curriculum policies could serve as a strategic step in enhancing the quality of elementary education across Southeast Asia.

Abstract

This study aims to review the influence of the cooperative learning model STAD (Student Teams Achievement Divisions) supported by flash card media on students’ learning motivation in number concepts at elementary schools, particularly in early grades. The method used is a literature review, analyzing previous studies, scholarly articles, and relevant educational documents regarding the implementation of STAD and flash cards. Descriptive analysis was conducted to identify patterns, best practices, and factors supporting the effectiveness of these strategies. The findings indicate that the STAD model promotes positive social interaction, individual learning responsibility, and collaborative teamwork, while flash cards facilitate the understanding of number concepts in a concrete and engaging manner for students. The combination of these strategies has been shown to effectively enhance learning motivation, active participation, and student enthusiasm in mathematics learning. This study emphasizes the importance of applying cooperative learning strategies supported by visual media to foster cognitive, affective, and psychomotor development in elementary school students.

Abstract

Volume measurement is one of the fundamental competencies in elementary school mathematics, particularly for Grade 6 students. Mastery of the volume concept involves not only measuring using standard units, such as liters and cubic meters, but also non-standard units, which help students understand the concept more concretely. This literature review aims to examine previous studies on teaching strategies, student difficulties, and effective approaches in measuring volume using both standard and non-standard units. The method employed is a literature study, analyzing scientific articles, educational journals, and elementary school mathematics textbooks. The findings indicate that using concrete teaching aids, project-based learning, and measurement exercises in real-life contexts can improve students’ understanding of volume. Non-standard units play a crucial role in building initial volume concepts, while standard units prepare students for formal measurement and practical applications. This review recommends that teachers combine both types of units in the learning process and relate volume measurement to practical situations to help students internalize the concept more effectively and enjoyably.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas praktik budaya numerasi “10 Menit Bersama” yang diterapkan di SDK Gurusina, sebuah sekolah dasar di Kabupaten Ngada, Nusa Tenggara Timur. Kegiatan ini dilakukan setiap pagi sebelum pembelajaran dimulai, berupa pelafalan perkalian secara serempak selama 10 menit oleh seluruh siswa dari kelas I hingga VI, dengan metode yang disesuaikan menurut jenjang kelas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan pelaksanaan kegiatan tersebut serta menelaah dampaknya terhadap peningkatan kemampuan numerasi dasar siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif melalui observasi dan wawancara, didukung dengan telaah literatur dari berbagai penelitian lima tahun terakhir. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan ini berdampak positif terhadap daya ingat siswa, kepercayaan diri, serta motivasi belajar matematika. Selain itu, pelibatan aktif guru dalam mendampingi siswa turut menciptakan interaksi sosial yang positif dan membentuk budaya belajar yang disiplin. Praktik ini relevan dengan prinsip Kurikulum Merdeka dan dapat direkomendasikan sebagai strategi numerasi yang kontekstual dan berkelanjutan di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Early childhood education is a crucial foundation for character development; therefore, simple yet effective strategies such as the 5S Movement (Smile, Greet, Salute, Polite, and Courteous) are essential. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the 5S Movement as a strategy for shaping children’s character at TKK Tunas Bangsa Watumanu. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method with purposive sampling involving teachers, the principal, and students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, with data validity tested through triangulation. The results showed that the 5S principles were consistently applied in daily school routines, and children demonstrated improvements in politeness, empathy, and confidence. Teachers’ role modeling and supportive visual environments strengthened value internalization, while limited parental involvement remained a challenge. The effectiveness of the 5S Movement depends on teacher consistency, positive reinforcement, and strong school–home collaboration.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis makna sosial budaya Peo Jawawawo dalam konteks penguatan persatuan dan kesatuan bangsa Indonesia. Peo, sebagai simbol transendental dalam masyarakat adat Jawawawo di Kabupaten Nagekeo, Nusa Tenggara Timur, memiliki nilai filosofis dan sosial yang berakar pada kearifan lokal. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif-hermeneutik berdasarkan hasil kajian literatur dari dua karya utama Yakobus Ndona (2019), yakni “Peo Jawawawo: Simbol Pemersatu Masyarakat Adat dan Inspirasi Pengembangan Persatuan Bangsa” dan “Jejak Tuhan di Tanah Keo”. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa Peo bukan sekadar artefak adat, melainkan simbol spiritual dan sosial yang mengikat masyarakat dalam ikatan solidaritas, kesetaraan, dan keteraturan hidup. Nilai-nilai yang terkandung di dalamnya, seperti penghormatan terhadap leluhur, solidaritas antaranggota komunitas, dan kesadaran kolektif terhadap kehidupan bersama, relevan untuk memperkuat persatuan bangsa di tengah keberagaman etnis dan budaya Indonesia. Oleh karena itu, pemaknaan sosial budaya Peo dapat dijadikan model inspiratif bagi pembangunan karakter bangsa yang berlandaskan spiritualitas dan nilai kebersamaan.)

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tantangan dan fenomena perkembangan anak usia sekolah dasar dalam konteks penerapan pembelajaran Deep Learning (Pembelajaran Mendalam). Berbeda dengan pembelajaran permukaan (surface learning) yang menekankan hafalan, Deep Learning menuntut pemahaman konseptual, koneksi antar pengetahuan, dan transfer keterampilan ke dunia nyata. Melalui pendekatan studi literatur dan analisis konseptual, artikel ini menelaah kesiapan perkembangan kognitif siswa SD yang berada pada tahap operasional konkret menuju operasional formal, serta dampak psikologis dan sosial-emosional dari tuntutan kurikulum yang kompleks. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa meskipun Deep Learning berpotensi mempercepat kematangan kognitif dan keterampilan abad 21 (6C), terdapat fenomena kesenjangan perkembangan (developmental gap) yang memicu kecemasan akademik dan beban kognitif berlebih jika tidak dikelola dengan scaffolding yang tepat. Artikel ini merekomendasikan strategi pedagogis yang menyelaraskan tuntutan Deep Learning dengan zona perkembangan proksimal (ZPD) anak untuk menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang psikologis-aman dan menumbuhkan growth mindset.

Abstract

Kegiatan Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) ini bertujuan meningkatkan kemampuan literasi baca-tulis serta menanamkan nilai kepahlawanan pada siswa sekolah dasar melalui lomba cipta dan baca puisi dalam rangka memperingati Hari Pahlawan. Permasalahan yang melatarbelakangi kegiatan ini adalah rendahnya kemampuan literasi kreatif siswa, khususnya dalam mengekspresikan ide secara tertulis dan lisan. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif, yang dilaksanakan di SDN Banget 01 pada tanggal 10 November 2025 dengan melibatkan 19 siswa kelas IV, V, dan VI. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, dokumentasi, dan interaksi langsung selama proses pembinaan hingga pelaksanaan lomba. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan siswa dalam memilih diksi, menyusun bait puisi, serta menyampaikan makna melalui pembacaan puisi dengan lebih percaya diri. Pendekatan deep learning yang diterapkan mendorong siswa memahami makna puisi secara lebih mendalam melalui refleksi nilai kepahlawanan dan pengaitan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Selain itu, interaksi sosial antara siswa, mahasiswa KKN, dan guru berkontribusi terhadap keberhasilan program melalui proses diskusi, bimbingan, dan kolaborasi. Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan ini tidak hanya meningkatkan keterampilan literasi siswa, tetapi juga menumbuhkan kreativitas, kepercayaan diri, serta apresiasi terhadap nilai sejarah dan budaya, sehingga layak dikembangkan sebagai program literasi berkelanjutan di sekolah.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the definitive meanings of forms of address used by the community of Kemantren Village, Mojokerto, and to analyse the differences and similarities in the meanings of each lexeme of address using compositional analysis methods. This study uses data in the form of 16 lexemes of address obtained from researchers who are native speakers of Javanese. Data collection was conducted introspective based on the instincts of native speakers who had lived in the environment. The data was then corroborated through interviews with the researcher's mother and sister. The results of this study are 16 definitions of greeting lexemes in the Kemantren dialect of Mojokerto.
