Abstract

This study aims to analyze the management of educational facilities and infrastructure procurement in supporting the improvement of learning quality at Baitul Ilmi Islamic Junior High School (MTs) Tebo. This research employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive research design. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research informants consisted of the principal, the vice principal for facilities and infrastructure, and teachers. Data were analyzed interactively through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was strengthened through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that the management of educational facilities and infrastructure procurement at MTs Baitul Ilmi Tebo consists of three main stages: planning, implementation, and evaluation. The planning stage involves needs identification, inventory assessment, priority setting, budget preparation, and the involvement of the principal, vice principal for facilities and infrastructure, teachers, administrative staff, and the school committee. Procurement is implemented through purchasing, repairing existing facilities, renting, and receiving grants or donations. Evaluation is conducted by examining the condition and quality of procured items, their conformity with identified needs, utilization, impact on learning activities, and budget efficiency. Although the procurement process has been implemented relatively systematically, it has not been fully optimal due to limitations in learning facilities, particularly science laboratory equipment. These findings indicate that needs-based procurement management, supported by priority setting and continuous evaluation, is an important instrument for improving learning quality in Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

School libraries are an important component in supporting the learning process by providing information resources, academic services, and literacy development. However, the existence of a school library does not always guarantee optimal service management. This study aims to analyze library service management in supporting learning quality at State Junior High School 7 Muaro Jambi, particularly in terms of service planning, implementation, and management constraints. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Data was collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving the principal, library manager, and teachers. Data was analyzed interactively through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that library service planning was conducted at the beginning of the academic year through the development of short- and medium-term work programs by considering students' needs, school programs, and budget availability. Library services included circulation, reference, reading-in-place, and literacy activities; however, their implementation was not yet optimal. The main constraints included the library manager's dual role as a teacher, limited time and librarianship competence, inadequate facilities and infrastructure, manual service administration, and students' low independent use of the library. The study emphasizes that optimizing the library's function as a learning resource center requires strengthening human resources, service quality, facilities, technology utilization, and integration of library programs with learning activities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the principal in improving the quality of educational facilities and infrastructure at SMA Negeri 8 Batang Hari and to identify supporting factors, inhibiting factors, and management efforts. The study employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data was collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving the principal, vice principal for facilities and infrastructure, teachers, and administrative staff. Data was analyzed through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the principal plays a relatively effective role in managing educational facilities and infrastructure through need-based and priority-oriented planning, organization and delegation of responsibilities, administration and inventory management, supervision, and motivation of school members. Supporting factors include the availability of basic facilities, funding support, teacher participation, an inventory system, and cooperation among school members. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors include the suboptimal condition of some facilities, budget limitations, students’ lack of awareness in maintaining facilities, unequal distribution of learning facilities, and challenges in asset management. The principal addresses these challenges through priority-based and phased procurement, participatory maintenance, supervision, evaluation, and optimization of funding sources. These findings indicate that the quality of educational facilities and infrastructure is determined not only by their availability but also by effective management and the involvement of school members.
