Abstract

Vocabulary mastery is one of the essential elements in Arabic language learning because it serves as the foundation for language skills such as listening, speaking, reading, and writing. However, Arabic learning at the elementary level is still often carried out using conventional methods that make students easily bored and less active in the learning process. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the Sing and Acting method in improving Arabic vocabulary mastery among fifth-grade students of Qur’anic School of Dewan Dakwah Surakarta. This research employed a quantitative approach with a comparative ex post facto design. The subjects of this study were 29 students of class VB. Data were collected through tests, questionnaires, and observations. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics and the paired sample t-test. The results showed that the average pre-test score of 76.86 increased to 87.68 in the post-test, with an improvement difference of 10.82. The hypothesis testing result showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between students’ learning outcomes before and after the implementation of the Sing and Acting method. Observation and questionnaire results also revealed that students became more active, enthusiastic, and easier to memorize vocabulary during the learning process. Therefore, the Sing and Acting method is effective in improving Arabic vocabulary mastery among elementary school students through active, enjoyable, and interactive learning.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the important role of madrasa principals as innovators in improving the quality and competitiveness of Islamic educational institutions amid rapid educational changes. Madrasa principals are not only responsible for managerial functions but are also expected to create innovations relevant to contemporary educational needs. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation at MTsN 2 Deli Serdang. The research subjects consisted of the madrasa principal and teachers. The findings revealed that innovations had been implemented comprehensively in religious programs, academic development, teacher professionalism, learning technology, and extracurricular activities. These innovations were supported by participatory leadership, strong collaboration among school members, and adequate facilities, although several obstacles were found, particularly related to the technological competence of some teachers. Overall, these innovations positively influenced the quality of learning, teacher professionalism, student motivation, the strengthening of Islamic character, and the overall quality of the institution.

Abstract

The advancement of modern education requires the implementation of innovative, creative, and adaptive learning systems through the use of graphic-based instructional media in curriculum development. Conventional teaching methods often lead to low student participation, learning boredom, and difficulties in understanding abstract concepts due to limited visual support. This study aims to analyze the influence of graphic-based learning media on curriculum development, learning motivation, and students’ creativity. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed through literature review, observation, and analysis of educational sources related to visual media and modern curriculum development. The findings indicate that graphic media, including images, diagrams, illustrations, and infographics, contribute to improving conceptual understanding, learning concentration, critical thinking skills, and interactive learning communication. The integration of graphic media also supports student-centered learning practices. However, its effectiveness is constrained by technological limitations, teachers’ competencies in designing visual media, and differences in students’ learning characteristics.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the management of guidance and counseling in addressing juvenile delinquency among eighth-grade students at SMP Islam Al-Falah. The study is grounded in management theory, which includes planning, organizing, implementation, and supervision, as well as guidance and counseling theory as a support service for developing students’ potential and resolving their personal and social problems. This research employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that guidance and counseling management had been implemented through preventive, repressive, and curative programs in dealing with various forms of student delinquency, such as tardiness, violations of school regulations, and other deviant behaviors. The causes of delinquency were influenced by internal and external factors, including lack of parental supervision and negative peer environments. The main obstacles included limited counseling service time, a large number of students, and low student awareness of discipline. To address these issues, the school strengthened counseling services, enhanced collaboration with parents, and implemented character-building programs. Therefore, guidance and counseling management plays a strategic role in minimizing student delinquency despite facing several implementation challenges.

Abstract

This study examines the principal’s policy in maintaining an “A” accreditation status at SMP Islam Al Falah Kota Jambi. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed to explore the implementation of accreditation-related policies in depth. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, including data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the principal’s policy has been implemented consistently to sustain the “A” accreditation status. This is evidenced by stable accreditation outcomes and the application of the 2024 Institutional Accreditation (IA) instrument from BAN-PDM, covering teacher performance, school leadership, learning climate, and student achievement. Evaluation practices focus on teacher performance and school facilities monitoring. Supporting factors include strong institutional support, effective teamwork, and adequate infrastructure. However, challenges remain, particularly time constraints due to multiple responsibilities and high administrative workloads. To address these issues, the school applies task prioritization based on urgency and impact, simplifies administrative procedures, and promotes digitalization to improve efficiency and reduce redundancy in school management.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) in SMP Islam Al Falah Kota Jambi from the perspective of sustainable quality management in education. Using a qualitative case study design, the research explores how quality assurance processes are planned, implemented, and evaluated within the school context. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis, and were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The findings reveal that SPMI implementation has been systematically conducted through structured planning aligned with national education standards, participatory implementation involving all school stakeholders, and periodic internal evaluation. However, challenges remain in ensuring consistency of documentation, strengthening the effectiveness of monitoring mechanisms, and optimizing the utilization of evaluation results for continuous improvement. The study highlights the importance of strengthening internal quality assurance teams and developing data-driven decision-making systems to enhance sustainable school quality improvement.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the teacher's role in optimizing the use of Digital Interactive Boards (DIB) in teaching data processing topics in fifth-grade mathematics at SD Negeri Karangmloko 1. The integration of digital technology in mathematics is considered an effective strategy to improve learning quality by presenting concepts in a more visual, interactive, and meaningful manner. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The participants consisted of a fifth-grade teacher and fifth-grade students of SD Negeri Karangmloko 1. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques. The findings revealed that teachers played a crucial role throughout the learning process, including planning, implementation, and evaluation stages. During the planning stage, teachers prepared instructional materials, designed digital learning media, and developed visual representations of data processing concepts. In the implementation stage, teachers acted as facilitators by guiding students to actively engage with the Digital Interactive Board. During evaluation, teachers utilized interactive quiz features to assess students’ understanding and provide immediate feedback. The use of DIB enhanced students’ attention, motivation, participation, and comprehension of data processing materials. Therefore, the successful integration of Digital Interactive Boards in mathematics learning is highly dependent on teachers’ ability to design, manage, and evaluate technology-based instruction effectively.
