Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease characterized by hyperglycemia due to abnormal insulin secretion. Diabetes mellitus is characterized by increased blood sugar levels exceeding normal limits, due to a deficiency of the insulin hormone produced by the pancreas, causing a decrease in blood sugar levels. This study aims to determine the effect of physical activity on reducing blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods: Literature searches were conducted on the following databases: PubMed, Embes, Web of Science, and Scopus. By including all observational studies, randomized controlled trials, quasi-experiments, case controls, and pre-experiments and radiating their quality using the Joanna Briggs Institute tool often referred to as (JBI). Criteria: Articles in English, published in internationally recognized journals, and discussing physical activity in relation to lowering blood glucose levels. Results: Fifteen studies ranging in size from 28 to 100 participants physical activity is effective in lowering blood glucose levels with regular exercise three times a week physical exercise can be applied to the age range of 30-85 years. Conclusion: For people with type 2 diabetes mellitus, physical activity plays a very important role in controlling blood glucose levels. When exercising, blood sugar levels are much lower than when not exercising. It can be concluded that physical activity can lower blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes.

Abstract

Hypertension is called a “silent killer”, many hypertension sufferers do not realize that they have hypertension because hypertension is often asymptomatic so, hypertension sufferers only realize that they have hypertension after they experience complications. This study focuses on examining the relationship between education level with the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of hypertension patients. This study uses quantitative research, with the research design using a cross-sectional study. The sampling technique used is a purposive sampling technique. The samples taken were 100 samples of hypertension patients at dr. Soeratno Sragen Regional Hospital. The research instrument used the knowledge, attitude, practice (KAP) questionnaire. The results of the study showed that there was a relationship between the level of education with the knowledge and attitudes of hypertensive patients, each of which produced a p-value = 0.029 <0.05 and p-value = 0.002 <0.05. The results of the next study, namely the level of education with the behavior of hypertensive patients, showed no significant relationship with p-value = 0.459> 0.05. The higher the level of education affects a person's knowledge and attitude, the better the level of education, the better the level of knowledge and attitude. While from the statistical test between the level of education and practice, there is no relationship between the two, this shows that someone with a high level of education does not necessarily have a good practice. Practice can be formed from many factors, not only from the level of education.

Abstract

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) can cause changes in physical condition and cause cardiovascular problems to death. The development of CKD can be prevented by doing physical activity, one of which is aerobic exercise. Studies related to the effects of aerobic exercise on physical condition, especially in patients with chronic kidney disease, are still limited, so further studies are needed. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of aerobic exercise on physical condition in patients with chronic kidney disease. The method used is a scoping review based on the PRISMA flow diagram. Article searches were conducted using electronic databases or internet searches, some databases used as article selection are ScienceDirect, Pubmed, and Springerlink. In conducting the search using the keywords "Aerobic Exercise" and "Chronic Kidney Disease" and "physical condition". Where in the screening or filtering of articles are given the filters "2020-2024", "Free full text" and "research article". The scoping review analysis was carried out using the Arksey and O'Malley theory approach which has been modified by Levac. From 4 databases, 6 articles were analyzed and focused on the effect of aerobic exercise on physical conditions in patients with chronic kidney disease. The results of the analysis showed that aerobic exercise significantly increased the SPPB (Short physical performance battery) value, increased the HRV (heart rate variability) index within the normal range, increased vagal activity leading to sympathovagal balance, improved systolic and diastolic values, increased physical activity levels, and decreased blood glucose and increased hematocrit. The effect of Aerobic exercise on the physical condition of patients is divided into physiological and biochemical effects. The effect of Aerobic exercise on physical conditions physiologically is to improve physical function, functional capacity and activity of the autonomic nervous system of the heart, increase blood flow, reduce risk factors for cardiovascular disease, increase cardiorespiratory capacity and muscle strength of the upper and lower body, and have a more comprehensive range in activities. The effect of Aerobic exercise on physical conditions biochemically is to maintain stable blood levels.

Abstract

Critical thinking in the concept of nursing philosophy in nursing is complex and is explained by various different definitions. These various definitions have caused confusion about what is meant by understanding the concept or model of nursing. Many literature reviews have examined nursing model theories and related definitions and measurements, but none offer a new perspective to view the same conclusion. The researcher looked at the use of the drilling method drill method to improve students' knowledge in the course of nursing philosophy and theoriesin. The research design used a pre-test and post-test without a control group, which is a design that treats one group without a comparison group. Respondents numbered 120 students who were members of the nursing theory class which were then divided into 4 large groups. The effectiveness of the treatment was assessed by comparing the post-test and pre-test scores. During this study, respondents will be given 6 learning sessions divided into 12 face-to-face meetings related to nursing theory, namely the theories of Florence Nightingale, Jean Orlando, Martha E Roger, and Watson. The results of the statistical test using the Wilcoxon test obtained a p value = 0.001, there was a significant difference in knowledge between before and after being given the Drilling Method. The knowledge of respondents after being given the Drilling Method showed a significant increase, so it is important to continue using the Drilling Method to improve knowledge and competence. The Drilling Method is an effective learning method to improve competence in the cognitive aspect. In the future, this method is expected to be applied in the learning process to improve the competence of nursing students in other courses.

Abstract

Stunting, a chronic nutritional issue with significant impacts on the quality of human resources, remains a major health challenge in Indonesia. This study analyzes the policy on budget utilization for stunting programs based on the District Health Account (DHA) to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of health financing. The research was conducted at the Aceh Jaya Health Office, Aceh Province, using a quantitative method with a comparative program evaluation approach. Data were collected through a review of stunting budget documents from 2017 to 2023 and direct observations of budget distribution. The findings reveal an increasing trend in the stunting budget since the implementation of the stunting reduction acceleration policy in 2020, peaking at IDR 5.316 billion in 2023. Prior to this policy, budget allocations were fluctuating and lacked clear priorities. The use of DHA provided a comprehensive overview of financial flows, funding sources, and their utilization. DHA also identified that most funds were allocated to indirect activities, such as maternal health management and community nutrition, while direct allocations for stunting patients tended to decrease. This study supports the effectiveness of DHA in optimizing budget allocation for stunting programs, ensuring more targeted use of funds, and improving financing efficiency. DHA has the potential to become a critical instrument for local governments in data-driven budget planning to achieve the national stunting prevalence target of 14% by 2024.

Abstract

Adolescents are more susceptible to anemia resulting from iron deficiency. Diverse initiatives have been implemented to reduce the incidence of anemia, which is rising annually. The undertaken efforts do not instantaneously convert an individual into an expert in anemia prevention. This study seeks to determine young women's knowledge and self-awareness levels, along with the factors that affect self-awareness. The design of this study was quasi-experimental, employing a distinct sample for the pretest and posttest. This study was carried out in SMAN 1 Kebomas from July to September 2024, with participants who matched the inclusion criteria. The study sample comprised 79 individuals selected through a purposive sampling method. The instruments used to conduct research were questionnaires, which was adopted from previous similar researchers and and have been retested with a reliability test result of 0.818 namely about knowledge before and after education, and strengthening self-awareness to prevent anemia. The Paired T-test and Linear Regression were employed for analysis. The study indicates a significant difference in the average levels of knowledge and self-awareness, with a p-value of 0.000 < 0.05. The data indicates a significant correlation between family support and self-awareness, with a p-value of 0.03 < 0.05, as well as between peer support and self-awareness, with a p-value of 0.01 < 0.05. The provision of education can enhance the understanding and self-awareness of young women, bolstered by diverse sources of information, particularly familial and peer support.
