Abstract

Schizophrenia is a serious mental illness that can significantly impact the quality of life. Families play a crucial role as primary caregivers, providing both physical and mental support to individuals with schizophrenia. Family psychoeducation therapy is a structured intervention designed to address relapse-related challenges in schizophrenia clients. The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of family psychoeducation interventions on medication adherence in schizophrenia clients. This study used a quasi-experimental design with 62 families divided randomly into intervention and control groups (31 each). Families with a member diagnosed with schizophrenia and willing to participate were included. The intervention group received four weekly psychoeducation sessions, while the control group received standard care. Medication adherence was measured using a validated scale. Data were analyzed with the Mann-Whitney U test (p < 0.05) to assess the intervention’s impact. The study found no significant effect of psychoeducation on medication adherence based on age (p = 0.968), gender (p = 0.172), and education level (p = 0.148). However, there was a significant effect of psychoeducation on medication adherence related to employment (p = 0.023), knowledge (p = 0.023), attitudes (p = 0.001), and overall adherence (p = 0.001). The family psychoeducation intervention program showed significant benefits, including improved medication adherence, better family perceptions of medication, enhanced understanding of schizophrenia, and reduced relapse rates and hospital readmissions.

Abstract

The problem of stunting is a priority for the government to resolve. Stunting is closely related to nutritional problems experienced by toddlers so that the appearance of length and height does not match their age development. Several factors are suspected of influencing the incidence of stunting such as education level, type of work and socio-economic conditions. Central Java Province has several areas that are recorded as having a fairly high incidence of stunting, one of which is in Karanganyar Regency. This study aims to determine the relationship between education level, work, socio-economic conditions and the incidence of stunting in Karanganyar Regency. This study uses primary data obtained by directly interviewing 30 respondents in the research area randomly. The data analysis method used is Pearson correlation. Based on the results of the study, the p-value for the indicator variables of education level and socio-economic conditions is less than the alpha value of 5% so that both have an effect on the incidence of stunting, while the p-value for the type of work is more than the alpha value of 5% so that it does not affect the incidence of stunting.

Abstract

Health is a fundamental human right, and pharmacy services are a vital component of the healthcare system, especially in hospitals. The Ministry of Health Regulation No. 72 of 2016 serves as a guideline for implementing pharmacy services to ensure optimal healthcare delivery. Objective: This study aims to evaluate the implementation of Ministry of Health Regulation No. 72 of 2016 regarding pharmacy services in three class C hospitals in Kebumen Regency and to formulate improvement strategies using the Hanlon method. Method: A descriptive-analytical approach with a cross-sectional design was used. Data were collected through observations and interviews with the heads of pharmacy departments in the three hospitals. Results: The implementation of pharmaceutical supply management and clinical pharmacy services achieved 72.7% of the established standards. Key activities such as prescription review, medication history tracking, and counseling were conducted. However, activities like Drug Use Evaluation, sterile dispensing, and Therapeutic Drug Monitoring were not implemented due to limited facilities and skilled personnel. Hanlon analysis identified priority issues, including drug procurement accuracy, the number of items per prescription, and the lack of Drug Use Evaluation and Therapeutic Drug Monitoring. Conclusions: To improve service quality, recommendations include increasing budget allocation, training medical staff, and improving infrastructure. Addressing these issues is expected to enhance patient safety, drug use efficiency, and overall service satisfaction in the hospitals.

Abstract

Anemia in pregnant women is a significant public health problem, especially in developing countries. Iron deficiency in pregnant women can interfere with fetal growth and maternal health. One alternative to increase hemoglobin levels is to consume local foods such as tamarillo and date palm juice, which are rich in iron and vitamin C.Objective: The aim of this study was to identify the effectiveness of consuming tamarillo and date palm juice in increasing hemoglobin levels in pregnant women with anemia based on a systematic literature review.Method: The research design is a Systematic Literature Review of articles or journals published in 2020-2024, accessed on Google Scholar, PubMed and Scopus with the Prisma Flow technique. Relevant articles were selected using the PRISMA flow technique, with the inclusion criteria being in Indonesian or English that can be accessed in full. Results: The results of the analysis of 10 articles showed that consumption of tamarillo and date palm juice significantly increased hemoglobin levels in pregnant women with anemia. The increase in hemoglobin levels ranged from 1.0-2.0 g/dL in the intervention group. Tamarillo is effective due to its vitamin C content which increases the absorption of non-heme iron, while date palm juice provides additional iron and energy to support hemoglobin formation. Conclusions: tamarillo and date palm extract have been proven effective as non-pharmacological interventions in treating anemia in pregnant women. The combination of these two ingredients can be a safe natural alternative and has the potential to increase the success of managing pregnancy anemia

Abstract

The National Health Insurance (JKN) is a government program that provides financial protection for the people of Indonesia to meet their basic healthcare needs. To improve services for the public, BPJS has introduced the Mobile JKN application. This application facilitates participants in obtaining information and administrative services related to the National Health Insurance program by utilizing information technology through a smartphone app that can be downloaded from the Play Store and App Store. Observations conducted by the researcher in RT 16 showed that out of 12 participants are still not fully familiar with the use of the Mobile JKN application. Based on preliminary studies conducted by the researcher on 10 JKN participants in RT 16, it was found that 6 participants (60%) were unaware of how to use the Mobile JKN application. Meanwhile, 4 participants (40%) knew how to use the Mobile JKN application but preferred to visit Primary Health Facilities (FKTP) instead, citing difficulties in understanding and registering for the Mobile JKN application initially. Currently, everything related to healthcare services, especially JKN, must be accessed through gadgets, starting from registration and beyond. This research is important because some JKN participants have been found to not fully understand the use and benefits of the Mobile JKN application. If the public lacks understanding of this application, it may hinder healthcare services, which now require the use of the Mobile JKN application. the aim of this research is to determine the level of knowledge of the rt 16 kelurahan klandasan ulu, about the use of the jkn mobile application. The research method used in this study is quantitative descriptive research with a cross-sectional approach. This research method is employed to provide an overview of the public’s level of knowledge regarding the use of the Mobile JKN application. Data collection in this study was conducted using questionnaires and analyzed using bivariate analysis. Based on the results of the research and discussion with 47 JKN participants regarding the level of knowledge in RT 16 on the use of the Mobile JKN application is at a good level. The results show that out of 47 respondents, 53% had good knowledge about using the Mobile JKN application, while 47% had poor knowledge.
