Abstract

Local wisdom is the originality of an area that distinguishes it from other regions both in terms of meaning and the value it contains. The Toraja tribe, which is located in the province of South Sulawesi, has a strong oral culture so that information is passed down by word of mouth, not in the form of writing or inscriptions. One of the local wisdoms of Toraja culture that is rarely written about is Ma’kombongan . Ma' Kombongan culture as a local wisdom has a strong enough role in the existence of the Tana Toraja people. Ma’kombongan can be said as a form of democratic government of the Toraja people before the current system of government. Therefore, it is important to write articles to see the role of ma’kombongan in creating harmony in Toraja society. This study uses a qualitative research method with data collection through observation and interviews with traditional shops, religious shops, indigenous peoples, and the government. The results of the research illustrate that the ma’kombongan process is carried out in customary areas in various ways such as Rambu solo, rambu tuka', a place to solve problems, resolve conflicts, and as a place for customary justice. The implications of the research provide insight into how important ma’kombongan is in forming harmonization in Toraja society. The research also has implications for the development of social knowledge, especially for creating social integration in society.

The negative face in Big Hero 6, on the one hand, is closely related to how then one of the characters in this movie tends to want to solve problems quickly through violence and individually. While the positive side of this movie is shown by how the other characters in this movie also try to prevent acts of violence by solving problems as much as possible. The research findings show that there are 26 conversational data showing positive and negative faces, in this study the researchers only showed 7 data of evidence showing positive face 4 and negative face 3.

Abstract

Teacher’s reflection during the practice of microteaching has received enormous attention. However, specific studies concerning student’s reflection of other friend’s microteaching performances in the pandemic of Covid-19 are still in a small number. The present study explores how pre-service teachers narrated their feedback to the other pre-service teachers who performed teaching practice in the micro-teaching class. They captured their friends’ performances and delivered feedback based on the parameters of Bloom’s (1956) affective and psychomotor domains. The findings showed that in the affective domain, there were some positive and negative emotions that existed during the process, while in the psychomotor aspect, there were certain gestures, and all were related to the preservice teacher’s perception.

Abstract

There are a number of variations in foreign language teaching methodologies. The learning paradigm has changed from merely translating and memorizing linguistic structures that are often done by students in Samarinda, turning towards constructivist learning where strategies throughout the learning process are applied by students through the help of teachers. They are currently learning although the strategy cannot be generalized. The strategies have been classified according to their characteristics in the following groups: metacognitive, cognitive, social and affective. In this study, the social strategies carried out through the e-learning platform by our foreign language learners are analyzed as well as constructivist learning, which is closely related to the use of social strategies promoted in this study after previous research (Sumarni. 2018) has described the mapping of foreign language learning strategies and become a reference for more in-depth research this time. For this descriptive statistic investigation, 100 students from the University of 17 August 1945 Samarinda was selected and the instrument of a social strategy questionnaire (adapted by SILL 7.0 Version) was developed based on the strengths of this strategy, namely, asking, cooperating, empathizing and practicing during the method of the constructive learning through The Breakout Room in Zoom Cloud Meeting. In the name of establishing students as a center and to have a higher motivation in online learning during pandemic, this investigation deserves to be used as an appropriate recommendation.

Abstract

This research and development (R & D) aimed to develop a speaking module for Informatics Engineering students. The sample of this research was taken from semester one of Informatics Engineering at STTIKOM Insan Unggul Cilegon. The researcher used the 9 steps of research and development from Borg & Gall (2003). The researcher found that the students need a module that can support the learning of speaking and enrich speaking skills, as 34% of students preferred a module as a learning medium based on their needs analysis result. The second finding is that the development of the speaking module went well. Based on the 9 steps of R & D, the researcher got some revision and validation from the material expert, the media expert, and the 30 students of Informatics Engineering. The third finding is that the quality of the speaking module is "Excellent" in design criteria, with a 100% validation score based on media expert validation. This means that the module can be used without revision. In addition, it got "Good" criteria in material or the content of the module with an 80% validation score based on material expert validation. This means the module can be used with a little bit of revision. Furthermore, based on students' assessment toward the module, it got "Excellent" criteria with a 100% score from 30 students of Informatics Engineering. Based on the results, it showed that the Speaking Module for Informatics Engineering at STTIKOM Insan Unggul Cilegon can be used as an aid for teaching speaking.
