Abstract

Based on the origin of the word (etymology), it can be stated that the meaning of corruption is something that expresses a condition that was once whole, good, and true, became unkind, not whole, and unrighteous as a result of such deeds; bribing, deceiving, faking, deforming, and such. The culprit is called a corruptor. What is considered a deterioration can be imposed on what concerns physical wholeness and moral integrity? Jeremy Bentham wrote that the term corruption used to be used in the physical sense, from there it was then used in the moral sense. Meanwhile, informal control can be carried out through preventive measures carried out independently by the wider community, both individual individuals and groups or institutional organizations outside the criminal justice system. Prevention can be done by, among others, developing a culture of shame and fear of doing wrong (moral sensibility), so that it can be created collectively self-policing attitudes in the midst of society, that committing acts of corruption is a despicable and evil act.

Abstract

The research aims to analyze the communication process between teachers and students, what obstacles are faced by teachers and students and the effort made by teachers to overcome obstacles in carrying out teaching and learning activities during the Covid-19 pandemic at Primbana Elementary School Medan. This research uses constructivism paradigm with descriptive qualitative method. The main informants in the research are teachers and students, while the triangulation as the validity of the data consists of parents and the school committee board. The data analysis technique uses the Miles Huberman model, namely reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results show that the teacher and student communication process that is carried out in the online system was manifested into four elements, namely the teachers as communicator convey messages to the students in the form of instructions for filling attendances at the beginning of meeting, delivering material and opening discussion session as well as giving daily assignments through various online learning applications such as Google Classroom, Zoom and WhatsApp Group which result in the effect of students being active and not participating in the online learning process. The barriers experienced by teachers and students are technical barriers in in the form of signal disturbances and economic limitations of students’ families to buy data packages, pay tuition and do not have gadgets, communication barriers namely students’ misunderstanding in understanding messages, lack of students understanding of the materials and not conducive learning atmosphere and psychological barriers are disturbances caused by pressures from within students such as shyness in asking questions, not concentrating and being disciplined and taking lessons for granted. The efforts made by the teacher in overcoming these obstacles by evaluating and paying attention to the situation and learning environment  in the form of giving daily assignments as an exercise, taking a long time in collecting assignments, giving praise such as applause and additional activity points as a form of appreciation and teaching how to respect others and implementing two learning systems, namely online and offline to optimize teaching and learning activities in the era of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

In urban areas, apartments are one of the residential solutions for residents given that the availability of land in urban areas is minimal. Vida View Apartment is one of the apartments in Makassar City. This study seeks to analyze the function-worthy aspects of buildings that have pocketed the Function-worthy Certificate issued by the Makassar City Spatial Planning Service in 2018, namely the Vida View Apartment. By conducting this research, it is expected to be able to find out the characteristics of the occupants and the level of satisfaction of the residents based on the technical study of livability at the Vida View Makassar Apartment. The data used came from 252 respondents who lived in the Vida View Apartment. The method used is observation, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The analysis was carried out with descriptive quantitative and descriptive qualitative and IPA (Importance-Performance Analysis) analysis. The results showed that 1) The characteristics of the residents of the apartment were 58% male, 60% residents aged around 15-30 years, and 78% of residents were natives of Makassar City. In addition, 61% of the dwellings are private residences, and 50% of the residents have occupied them for 1-3 years. 2) Based on the results of the IPA analysis, it is known that the occupancy comfort variable is divided into two categories, namely maintaining achievement and low priority so that there is a need for maximum improvement. The convenience variable in general has been implemented in accordance with expectations and the implementation of appropriate performance, but there are indicators of low priority. The safety variable shows that it needs to be handled and becomes a top priority to increase safety from pollution for apartment residents. In health variables, some indicators have met expectations, but there is one indicator that becomes a top priority, namely air conditioning, so handling is needed, while the orientation indicator to the sun is included in the low priority category.
