Abstract

This research aims: (1) to improve social skill and learning outcomes of social studies of the eighth graders exactly Class E of SMPN 1 Randudongkal using TGT cooperative learning model with variations of the game. This research is Classroom Action Research that uses the model of Kemmis and Taggart. The Techniques of Collecting data used observation, interviews, test, field notes and documentation. The result of the research indicated an improvement of social skills and learning outcomes in social studies after the writer applied cooperative learning model TGT with variations of the game. The writer can proved there is the improvement of social skills. Before the action was done, the average of social skills was 46.88, after Cycle 1, there was the improvement in 72.66, in the end of Cycle 2, the average of social skills became 80.78. The improvement of the students’ learning outcomes can also be proved by the classical completeness percentage. The classical completeness percentage was 40.62% before the action. It was be 78.12% in the end of Cycle 1 and in the end of Cycle 2 improved to become 87.50%.

Abstract

Fernand Braudel is one of the most influential historians in modern historiography. Braudel's works are considered to provide a new perspective for writing in modern historiography. As his work entitled The Mediterranean and the Mediterranean World in the Age of Philip II is considered a revolutionary study that is different from the conventional / traditional historiography tradition. This study aims to examine the role and influence of Fernand Braudel's thoughts in writing modern history. The method used is a literature review with a unit of analysis of his figures and works, that is Fernand Braudel and his work The Mediterranean and the Medoterranean World in the Age of Philip II. The research results show that Braudel's work introduces something new, namely "Total History" on the study of historical writing using a multi-dimensional approach - by including economic, social, and etc. The purpose of applying this multi-dimensional approach is so that history can be fully understood from various aspects. Other than that, it is an alternative-critic's attempt to dominate politics in the historical dimension, namely history which only emphasizes major events and focuses on big figures who tend to be political. Braudel's style of writing history (Braudelian) already given a major influence on historians who have been involved in the study of Regional History, such as Anthony Reid, M. C. Riclekfs, A.B. Lapian, I Gde Parimartha, Gusti Asnan, Singgih Tri Sulistiyono.Fernand Braudel salah satu sejarawan yang mempunyai pengaruh dalam historiografi modern. Karya-karya Braudel dianggap memberikan perspektif penulisan baru dalam historiografi modern. Sebagaimana karyanya berjudul The Mediterranean and the Mediterranean World in the Age of Philip II dianggap sebagai kajian revolusiner yang berbeda dengan tradisi historiografi konvensional/tradisional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengupas peran dan pengaruh pemikiran Fernand Braudel dalam penulisan sejarah modern. Metode yang digunakan adalah literature review dengan satuan kajian (unit of analysis) tokoh dan karyanya, yakni Fernand Braudel dan karyanya The Mediterranean and the Medoterranean World in the Age of Philip II. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa karya Braudel memperkenalkan sesuatu yang baru, yakni “Total History” atas kajian penulisan sejarah dengan menggunakan pendekatan multi-dimensional – dengan memasukkan aspek-aspek ekonomi, sosial, dan sebagainya. Tujuan penerapan pendekatan multi-dimensional tersebut agar sejarah dapat dipahami secara utuh dari berbagai aspek. Selain itu sebagai upaya alternative-critic atas dominasi politik dalam dimensi sejarah, yaitu sejarah yang hanya mementingkan peristiwa besar dan terfokus pada tokoh besar yang cenderung bersifat politis. Gaya penulisan sejarah Braudel (Braudelian) telah memberikan pengaruh besar terhadap para sejarawan yang berkecimpung dikajian Sejarah Kawasan, seperti Anthony Reid, M. C. Riclekfs, A.B. Lapian, I Gde Parimartha, Gusti Asnan, Singgih Tri Sulistiyono.

Abstract

Ruang publik di universitas sedang mengalami transformasi besar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan mengkritisi transformasi ruang di kampus negeri tersebut. Metode yang digunakan adalah observasi lapangan, wawancara mendalam, serta studi pustaka. Penelitian ini menggunakan metodologi kualitatif dan secara khusus menekankan realisme kritis sebagai paradigma utama untuk membongkar mekanisme umum yang melandasi sebuah realitas sosial, dalam hal ini transformasi spasial. Menggunakan teori kritis dari Henri Lefebvre, studi ini menghasilkan tiga kesimpulan. Pertama, kehadiran fasilitas modern seperti coworking space dan digital lounge merupakan pertanda perubahan spasial, tidak hanya secara material saja namun juga pada secara imajiner dan simbolik. Transformasi ruang tersebut terpusat pada bergantinya ruang publik menjadi ruang privat. Kedua, transformasi spasial dari ruang publik menjadi privat tidak pernah lepas dari kepentingan kaum borjuis. Terakhir, penelitian ini berargumen bahwa transformasi ruang tersebut memiliki potensi buruk bagi berlangsungnya kehidupan sosial-politik kampus.

Abstract

Multicultural Education Planning Through The Behavior Modification Learning Model In Social Studies Subjects (Case Study Of SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Kayen, Pati District, Central Java). The purpose of this study is to instill multicultural education through behavioral modification learning models in social studies subjects especially for students who are in religious-based schools. Multicultural education is the process of developing all human potential that respects its plurality and heterogeneity as a consequence of cultural, ethnic, racial and religious diversity. The focus of this study is how teachers provide multicultural education through behavioral modification learning models to students. The purpose of multicultural education itself is to prepare students with a number of knowledge, attitudes, and skills needed as an effort to develop cultural awareness. The behavior modification learning model, better known as behaviorism, is any effort made to change the behavior of certain individuals. With behavior modification the teacher is expected to focus on changing student behavior and understanding why or how such behavior can occur. This study uses a mixed qualitative quantitative approach with a type of field research. The method used was experimental without the control class by giving some stimulus in the form of interactive videos and pictures of various cultures in Indonesia intensively during social studies learning within one semester. After giving the stimulus, it was known that a positive response emerged from students in the form of multiculturalism, which amounted to 93% and the remaining 7% gave a neutral / apathetic response.Keyword:Multicultural Education, Learning Model, Behavior Modification

Abstract

Corporate governance exists to increase and maintain shareholder value. On this basis, corporate governance is argued to be vital to any company's long-term viability. To determine how transparency and accountability affected the Islamic banking sector's long-term viability. The study was guided by three theories: agency theory, stewardship theory, and stakeholder theory. This study is quantitative. It is used in quantitative research to generate numerical data or data that can be transformed into statistics. Transparency, accountability, justice, and responsibility are all important factors in the study's findings. Transparency and accountability appear to have a significant impact on the banking industry's long-term viability. To achieve sustainability, Islamic banks in Indonesia should strictly enforce transparency in all operations and worker activities.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the existence of the Mappadendang tradition of the Parepare community in Indonesia, implementing the Mappadendang tradition, and the Mappadendang tradition related to environmental conservation efforts. A qualitative approach is used to answer the research objectives. This research was conducted in Watang Bacukiki, Parepare City, Indonesia. Informants in this study are the people who live around the research location and take part in carrying out the Mappadendang tradition. The data collection techniques are interviews and documentation. After the data is collected, the data is analyzed. This study found that the Mappadendang tradition has been implemented since the community has been familiar with agriculture and the tradition still exists today. Implementing Mappadendang tradition includes rice mashing activities, dances, and eating together. The Mappadendang tradition cannot be separated from efforts to preserve the environment. This can be seen from the activities of cleaning the environment together and the stipulation of rules not to litter and to carry out activities that do not damage the environment. From the findings of this study, it can be concluded that the Mappadendang tradition, as a tradition passed down from generation to generation, must be preserved because implementing the tradition is closely related to environmental conservation efforts.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the social structure and social relations in differentiated learning and to find out the obstacles in the preparation of student learning profiles in the driving school program. This is one of the interesting things to study because the driving school program is a new program and uses the principle of differentiated learning. This study uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques using interview, documentation and observation techniques. Based on the results of the study, it can be seen that the social structure of the community is mostly underprivileged families and the education of parents is mostly elementary school graduates. The social relations of students from the research results can be seen from student relations both at school and at home. The obstacles in the implementation of the preparation of student learning profiles are the ability of teachers to identify the needs of students is limited, parents are not able to understand the condition of students such as the physical condition of students who encourage students to use aids in the learning process. Another obstacle faced is the lack of implementation of interest aptitude tests to identify problems faced by students, students' academic abilities, and students' potential in various fields. On the other hand, the student learning profile instrument demands complex identification from both teachers and parents.Keywords: Social Structure, Social Relations, Differentiation, Sekolah Penggerak

Abstract

Indonesia is an archipelagic country that is famous for its ethnic, racial, religious and cultural diversity. This diversity is widespread in every area from Sabang to Merauke. The diversity of ethnicity, race, religion, and culture is in line with the many traditions that exist in every region in Indonesia. Each region has traditions and rituals that have their own meaning and purpose. One of them is the sea picking tradition carried out by the Muncar community, Banyuwangi Regency. This tradition has its own meaning and purpose for the people around Muncar. This study uses a qualitative research method with a case study approach. This study aims to analyze the Petik Laut tradition with the perspective of the sociology of disaster. The results of this study indicate that the Picking Laut tradition carried out by the Muncar community is a ritual to ask for safety for fishermen to avoid disasters while looking for fish in the sea

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine what adaptations or adjustments were made to the implementation of the Perang Obor tradition in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and the response from the people of Tegalsambi Village. The method used in this research was a qualitative approach with interview and observation techniques. Interviews were conducted with the community and the village head of Tegalsambi. While the observations were carried out by seeing directly what the Perang Obor was like in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The results of the study found the fact that the existence of the Perang Obor tradition in the midst of the covid-19 pandemic was maintained but with some changes. The changes include the implementation of health protocols, the number of participants and limited time to avoid crowds that can become a medium for the spread of COVID-19. This study also found the fact that the policy of the village head continued to carry out the Perang Obor tradition in the midst of a pandemic because this tradition is related to meaningful cultural values and ideologies. Therefore, if it is abolished, it is feared that it will cause conflict for the people of Tegalsambi because the response from the people of Tegalsari has been very positive although they hope that the Perang Obor tradition can be carried out as vibrantly as when there was no COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Religious moderation manifests an attitude that is not excessive, neutral, and in a middle position. Religious moderation is crucial in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, and multi-religious society like Indonesia. This study aims to reveal how indicators of religious moderation are displayed in compulsory social science textbooks in Indonesia—using critical discourse analysis to analyze visual and verbal texts in textbooks. The results show that indicators of religious moderation such as national commitment, tolerance, non-violence, and accommodating to local culture have been included in social science textbooks, although in an unequal proportion. This textual study suggests that other researchers conduct textbook studies using different methods. So, various perspectives will be obtained that can be used as material for future textbook development policies.
