Abstract

Cultural diversity is a natural thing. Multicultural learning makes students aware of their cultural diversity, and respects other cultures. This study aims to describe the stages of multicultural learning in social studies subjects in class VII SMP TQ Annida Salatiga. The research method is a qualitative research method. primary data source from observations of social studies learning activities. While the secondary data sources are the results of interviews with school principals and seventh grade teachers as well as archives of learning activities. The results of this study are the stages in multicultural learning include analysis of potential factors before learning; establish learning strategies in the form of dialogue, observation, and case handling; and develop multicultural-based learning plans. The final conclusion shows that social studies learning uses student centered; its implementation through discussion, role playing and demonstration; and the multicultural learning is more oriented towards the surrounding environment.

Abstract

Civic education has the aim of forming good citizens (good citizenship). One indicator of a good citizen who has an honest character. The development of globalization and the development of science and technology turned out to have several unfavorable impacts for the Indonesian nation, one of which was the degradation of honesr character. The manajemen study Program of University of Muhammadiyah Semarang has a graduate profils of Enterpreneur, Manager, Consultant, and Educator. In order to form a graduate profile, it is very necessary to have an honest character. The formation of honest character is carried out in civic education throught an oral exam. Basd on the results of interviews conducted with UNIMUS Management students, it was obtained data that based on their perspective, 87% of tudents stated thar oral exams were very good for developing honestc haracter. The reason that students conveyed throught interviews were that throught oral exam they were really required to be able to understand teori and material so that they could answer questions withoutstuttering and nervousness.

Abstract

This paper uses a literature study approach, by dissecting the story of the Wayang Rama Tambak which is analyzed using the theory of character education according to Lickona and Character Education. Lickona's theory is; 1) Love of kindness; 2) Affection; 3) Dare; 4) The value of hard work; 5) Honest; 6) Justice; 7) Value of Responsibility; 8) Cooperation Value. As for the theory of character education values according to Ki Hajar Dewantara, there are also seven that can be imitated from the Rama Tambak puppet story, along with the analysis; 1) Exercise of the Heart (Ethics); 2) Thought (Literacy; 3) Leadership; 4) Gotong Royong; 5) Trust; 6) Nationalists; 7) Character. Wayang is an original Indonesian heritage which contains various character education values that can be used as role models for students, especially elementary school children. This character habituation can be accustomed by imitating the characters or puppet figures.

Abstract

The role of schools is considered very important in strengthening character education, unfortunately not all schools are successful in implementing character education strengthening programs (PPK) in accordance with the noble values of the Indonesian nation. This study aims to find out and examine more deeply about the internalization of Pancasila values in the PPK program at SMPN 4 Palimanan. By using the type of assessment research through a qualitative approach, and the combination of the CIPP model with authentic assessment. Using collection techniques, including observation and documentation by checking the validity of triangulation data techniques and sources. And through several stages of analysis, namely reduction, presentation of data and conclusions. The results of this study show that the success of the PPK program based on the assessment context can be seen in the success of the school vision and mission, school regulations, and school culture/climate in its implementation at SMPN 4 Palimanan and the internalization of Pancasila values in the PPK program have all been well internalized.

Abstract

Not only books, learning history can also be done by coming directly to historical sites, such as the bubrah mosque which can be used as a social study learning resource on the life of Indonesian society. The purpose of this study was to determine the utilization and relevance of the historical site of langgar bubrah as a social study learning resource. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection by interview, observation and documentation methods. The results of this study indicate that Langgar Bubrah is a historical relic of the Hindu-Buddhist and Islamic period with some evidence of the types of buildings and religious elements contained therein. There is a relevance of social studies learning with the breaking bubrah site, so that the site can be used as a social study learning resource for class VII KD 3.4. It is hoped that this research will be able to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the material and students will get messages of value from historical events related to the Bubrah Langar site.

Abstract

This research aims to provide a sociological description and analysis toward the civil sphere of the Taniwel Timur community. Social trust and solidarity became the focus to see peace maintained before and after ethnic conflicts in Maluku. There are two main important points which are, the social life of the Taniwel Timur people before and after the conflict and the way they built trust and social solidarity. This research uses qualitative methods through interview techniques with key informants, observations, and literature studies. The result of the research found that the Taniwel Timur community creates civic space through everyday relationships and interactions that remain guided by collective experiences, ways of life, traditions and habits, and social networks. In the civil sphere of the Taniwel Timur community, social trust and solidarity are built and become a resource to maintain peace when conflicts occur in Maluku.

Abstract

This article aims to provide an overview of the Muslim minority in Russia not living in a homogeneous environment. The Muslim community in this country is facing old and new problems at the same time. Ancient in the sense that members of this community who identify themselves with Islam have inhabited this vast land for centuries. However, they are considered young because Muslims are part of the modern Russian state. This paper seeks to place the changes experienced by Muslims in Russian society in the context of an actual historical framework. Post-Soviet Union development centered on infrastructure, economy, and society. Now, at a crucial moment, is the time to push intra-Islamic relations to a higher level. Only this allowed Islam to become an integral part of Russia's political identity.

Abstract

The study conducted in this article aims to know the teacher's efforts and elements in schools in instilling anti-corruption values at SMP AS-Syifa in advantage of anti-corruption values taught to citizenship education (PPKN). The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research method. The culture of corruption is familiar in Indonesia therefore the importance of planting anti-corruption values. Anti-Corruption Culture is duly taught in learning. The role of teachers at schools not only teaches learning materials, but rather forming the personality of learners to have a concern, honesty, responsibility, discipline, simplicity, independence, and hard work that teaches at school. Not only limited through the role of teachers alone planting anti-corruption values is realized but many aspects that can support it can run well that is through the elements in school. Planting of anti-corruption values can be implanted to learners with various things to create a tanned generation of laws and rules. But the reality of schools not many teaches that indicator of good anticorruption in the elementary level to high school level. The leader of the educator, especially the teacher of the Citizenship Education Studies (PPKN) is essential in realizing the anti-corruption generation in the education environment. This is done to create critical learners and are oriented to the application of anti-corruption values in everyday life.

Abstract

Social studies education is a form of integration of the social sciences and humanities which aims to make students able to be independent, responsive, responsible and think critically about a social problem that occurs in their surroundings. Of-course this will have an impact on changes that make progress in society and the country. A framework that understands that social studies education is a reflection of civilized national character is needed in the midst of the Society 5.0 era which requires society to be able to control and balance artificial intelligence and social intelligence in order to solve all kinds of national problems. Society 5.0 provides an illustration that everything can be moved and connected through data, including in it as an effort to overcome social problems in society. Social studies education is very strategic because it can balance the two things. This is in accordance with the flow of progressive philosophy which emphasizes the word progress in changes that lead to a good direction. In particular, this writing has the aim of bringing more open and broader thinking about the development of the times so that it is more perceptible that an education aims to lead to better progress. This writing uses a library study method. From the results of this literature study resulted in writing the implementation of the philosophy of progressivism in social studies education.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the conversion of land from rice fields to non-rice fields that occurs in rural communities. The purpose of this study is to analyze the causes and impacts of land conversion from rice fields to non-rice fields in rural communities. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type. This research was conducted in Sumber Makmur Village, Sungai Rumbai District, Mukomuko Regency, Bengkulu Province. Data collection methods were carried out in several ways, namely: non-participant observation, in-depth interviews, and document data collection. The withdrawal of informants was carried out by purposive sampling technique and the informants in this study were rice farmers who experienced changes in their livelihoods from rice fields to non-rice fields. The unit of analysis of this research is individuals who experience changes in their livelihoods and data analysis using the Miles and Huberman model with several stages, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that from 1,500 residents in Sumber Makmur 90% changed the function of land from rice fields to non-rice fields. The cause is the first land function: rice has failed to harvest, the second is the increasing need for life, the yield of rice that is obtained is uncertain. As a result, the change of land function from rice fields to non-rice fields or land conversion has an impact on natural disasters, job losses and production decreases.
