Abstract

This article explores the transformative role of financial technology (fintech) in Indonesia, specifically focusing on micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Sidoarjo. While fintech presents a promising avenue for MSME growth by providing access to banking services and capital, its adoption is hindered by limited MSME familiarity with fintech tools. In response, this study introduces the Peer-to-Peer Lending Sharia scheme as a viable alternative capital source for nonbankable MSMEs. The research employs a multifaceted approach encompassing awareness campaigns and educational initiatives to boost MSME fintech literacy. Through a comprehensive evaluation, this intervention reveals improved understanding and acceptance of fintech solutions among MSMEs. Consequently, the article underscores the significance of nurturing fintech literacy in enhancing financial inclusion, promoting sustainable MSME expansion, and fostering economic resilience in Indonesia. Highlights: Empowering Nonbankable MSMEs: Explore the impact of fintech adoption, particularly Peer-to-Peer Lending, in enabling growth for traditionally underserved micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia. Abstract

This study addresses knowledge gaps in a rural agricultural community, exemplified by Kajartengguli Village, where low education levels have influenced conventional waste disposal methods. With 49% of residents lacking formal schooling, and only 6% holding degrees, unsustainable waste management practices persist, including burning waste without considering consequences. The initiative, conducted on February 8, 2023, engaged PKK women from Kajartengguli Village, Prambon District, Sidoarjo Regency, in disseminating effective food preparation and preservation techniques. By appropriately storing ingredients such as vegetables, fish, and seasonings, the community aimed to extend their shelf life. Positive reception of the training has sparked enthusiasm among Kajartengguli women, showcasing potential for reduced food waste and enhanced sustainability practices in similar contexts. Highlight: Educational Disparities: Addressing the influence of low education levels on conventional waste disposal practices in a rural agricultural community. Abstract

Studi ini membahas masalah rendahnya minat belajar anak-anak di masyarakat pedesaan Indonesia dengan mengkaji dampak dari program keterlibatan masyarakat yang dilakukan oleh sekelompok mahasiswa. Tujuan program meliputi peningkatan keterlibatan belajar di kalangan siswa melalui tiga intervensi utama: bantuan belajar di kelas, diseminasi pendidikan karakter, dan bimbingan belajar di rumah. Menggunakan pendekatan metode campuran, studi menilai efektivitas intervensi ini dalam mempromosikan partisipasi belajar aktif. Hasilnya mengungkapkan pergeseran positif yang signifikan dalam minat belajar di antara kelompok sasaran, menggarisbawahi nilai inisiatif berbasis masyarakat. Highlight: Intervensi yang Efektif: Studi ini menyoroti keefektifan dari tiga strategi intervensi—pendampingan pembelajaran di kelas, diseminasi pendidikan karakter, dan bimbingan belajar di rumah—yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan minat belajar di kalangan siswa. Pendekatan Metode Campuran: Desain penelitian metode campuran digunakan untuk mengevaluasi secara komprehensif dampak program keterlibatan masyarakat, menggabungkan data kuantitatif tentang minat belajar dengan wawasan kualitatif dari peserta. Implikasi Lintas Budaya: Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya inisiatif yang digerakkan secara lokal, menunjukkan potensi kemitraan universitas-masyarakat untuk meningkatkan pendidikan dan motivasi, dengan implikasi untuk intervensi pendidikan lintas budaya yang lebih luas. Abstract

This scientific article presents a study aimed at addressing unemployment and fostering entrepreneurship by emphasizing the significance of soft skills in the business world. The research focuses on providing high school graduates with training in financial report preparation, aiming to augment their knowledge and insights in this domain. The implementation involves three stages: material delivery, practical exercises in financial reporting, and an evaluation process. The results demonstrate a remarkable enthusiasm among students participating in the training, as it not only enhances their understanding of financial reporting but also provides valuable insights beyond conventional education. This initiative can potentially empower graduates to navigate the world of work and entrepreneurship successfully. Abstract

This study elucidates the impact of a dynamic robot-focused socialization endeavor on the students of SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Porong. Targeting grades 7, 8, and 9, the initiative aimed to bridge the educational void resulting from the school's relocation. The presentation encompassed diverse national and international junior-level robot contests, along with rudimentary insights into robot components and their functionalities, aligning with the students' foundational aptitudes. Practical involvement, including hands-on interaction with an android smartphone-controlled sumo robot, generated enthusiasm reminiscent of play. A noteworthy upshot was the emergence of approximately 10 female students displaying a newfound interest in robotics. This venture not only augmented general knowledge but also spurred curiosity and engagement, emphasizing the potential for broader academic implications in the realm of junior high school education. Highlights: Interactive Exposure: The socialization event introduced students to national and international robot contests, fostering awareness and igniting interest in the field. Hands-on Experience: Through direct interaction with a smartphone-controlled sumo robot, students were engaged in a playful yet educational manner, encouraging active participation. Abstract

This study underscores the imperative for continuous teacher development by elucidating an innovative community engagement endeavor aimed at augmenting the proficiency of accounting educators within the Sidoarjo Regency's Subject Teachers Forum (Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran – MGMP). Employing a triad of methodologies encompassing awareness campaigns, training modules, and mentorship, the initiative proffers a curriculum centered on teaching factory concepts, financial technology integration, and millennial business trends. Evidenced by amplified pre- to post-test scores, the outcomes reveal a discernible upswing in pedagogical acumen following program participation. Qualitatively, heightened post-training dialogues showcase expanded knowledge domains concerning the aforementioned subjects, bolstering the claim of qualitative competence enhancement. This pioneering approach holds potential implications for fostering transformative teaching paradigms in the global pedagogical landscape. Abstract

This scientific article presents a program designed to foster sustainable economic independence within Kemlagi Village, Indonesia, by harnessing the potential of small businesses. The program aims to motivate and engage the local community through effective communication schemes and empowerment initiatives, maximizing the village's resources and potential. By focusing on the branding of local honey products, the program enhances the value and marketability of these products while promoting the understanding of the significance of branding among the villagers. The training method involves short sessions covering branding strategies and media utilization, followed by interactive Q&A and discussions. The results highlight increased knowledge and skills in branding, paving the way for the village to transform into a sought-after Honey Tourism Village. The implications of this study shed light on how local communities can achieve economic sustainability through targeted empowerment programs and brand development. Highlights: Engaging Rural Communities: The program aims to motivate and involve local residents directly in maximizing their village's potential by harnessing the power of branding for local products. Abstract

This conceptual study explores the paradigm of progressive Islamic teaching and learning, addressing the disconnection between traditional teachings and modern science, which hinders their societal relevance. Fueled by the "progressive Islam" paradigm initiated by Muhammadiyah, this research advocates for integrating Islamic doctrines and practices with scientific knowledge to enhance individual and societal well-being. Employing a conceptual survey, the study analyzes existing literature to propose that modern teaching methods should be employed to facilitate a deeper understanding, practical application, and reflection of Islamic teachings. The study's implications underline the significance of fostering a harmonious integration between Islamic education and modern knowledge, contributing to the advancement of both individual growth and social progress. Abstract

This article presents a community engagement initiative (abdimas) as part of Higher Education's Tri Dharma, conducted in Lemujut Village, Krembung District, Sidoarjo Regency, East Java. The project focuses on empowering Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by leveraging the Village-Owned Enterprise (Bumdes) as a Distribution Center for local products. Through direct interaction and knowledge dissemination about the Distribution Center concept, the aim is to amplify the visibility and market reach of Lemujut Village's MSME products, fostering competitiveness in the national and global markets while enhancing the local economy. The program employed direct interviews and questionnaires for information dissemination, leading to positive outcomes where Lemujut Village's MSMEs expressed willingness to collaborate with Bumdes as their partner. This study contributes to strengthening MSMEs and Bumdes collaboration models, offering insights for sustainable community development. Abstract

This study addresses the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on student morale and religious values by exploring educational reforms, with a focus on integrating Al-Islam Kemuhammadiyahan values into mathematics education. The unique integration of these values within the Linear Algebra e-module at Muhammadiyah University of Sidoarjo, specializing in Informatics, sets it apart. Employing research and development (R&D) methods with the ADDIE model, this study delves into the analysis phase, using an online questionnaire to collect data from 20 third-semester Informatics students. Employing descriptive qualitative analysis, the study unveils crucial insights into the development needs of a linear algebra e-module that incorporates Al-Islam Kemuhammadiyahan values, thereby contributing to enriched pedagogical strategies in higher education.
