Abstract

This study focuses on the development of Wordwall-based Electronic Student Worksheets (E-LKPD) to enhance learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education (PAI), particularly in the fiqh element, at SMA Negeri 1 Ulu Barumun, Padang Lawas Regency, North Sumatra. The background of this research is the relatively low interest and learning achievement of students, caused by the dominance of lecture-based methods and the limited use of conventional worksheets. Using a Research and Development (RD) approach with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation), the study involved 32 students of class XI IPA-1. The developed product was validated by media, language, and material experts, resulting in feasibility scores of 85.45%, 90%, and 88%. Student trials also showed very positive responses with an engagement rate of 91.78%. The findings reveal that the Wordwall-based E-LKPD is highly feasible and effective in improving student learning outcomes. Moreover, it fosters digital literacy and creates a more interactive, engaging, and contextual learning atmosphere. This innovation also holds potential for application in other subjects as a digital learning solution.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of social media on adolescent health in Hinai Kiri Village by highlighting subjective experiences, behavioral patterns, and the resulting social consequences. The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving adolescents aged 13–18 years as primary informants, as well as teachers, parents, and community leaders as supporting informants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation, and were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify patterns and themes related to the effects of social media on adolescent health. The findings indicate that intensive use of social media, particularly platforms such as TikTok and Instagram, has a significant impact on mental health, manifested in social anxiety, sleep disturbances, and low self-esteem due to social comparison. In terms of physical health, symptoms such as eye strain, neck pain, and sedentary lifestyles were identified as consequences of excessive gadget use. Meanwhile, in the social dimension, there has been a shift from direct face-to-face interaction to shallow virtual communication, which reduces adolescents’ ability to empathize and engage in meaningful interpersonal interactions

Abstract

Civics Education (PKn) in elementary schools is understood as the initial foundation for the formation of national character and social morals in children. The relevance of this study arises from the need to review the position of PKn in the Independent Curriculum, especially since the implementation of P5, which emphasizes strengthening the Pancasila-based student profile. This research explores and summarizes 23 scientific publications from various reputable journals to examine how PKn works in building democratic awareness, tolerance, and national identity in the younger generation. Through qualitative meta-analysis, we found a shift in the orientation of PKn, from being normative to being more reflective and experience-based. The values of Pancasila, the use of Problem-Based Learning (PBL), multicultural learning strategies, and the use of digital media appear to provide space for the growth of cooperation, empathy, and a sense of nationalism in the classroom. These changes demonstrate that PKn not only introduces the concept of the state but also brings it to life in students' daily attitudes and behaviors. The main conclusion emphasizes that the sustainability of PKn depends on the ability to integrate moral values with digital media, participatory learning, and the social context of the school. With this orientation, Civics has strong potential to prepare young citizens who are resilient, ethical, and adhere to the values of Pancasila amidst the dynamics of modern education.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the role of internalizing religious values in shaping adolescents' moral values, as well as its influence on religious awareness, social behavior, and the quality of interpersonal relationships in the Medan Denai District. The approach used is descriptive-qualitative with purposive sampling techniques targeting adolescents aged 15–18 as the main informants, and parents, teachers, and community leaders as supporting informants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, and then analyzed thematically. Research results show that the internalization of religious values plays an important role in shaping the cognitive, emotional, and social aspects of adolescents' moral values. Cognitively, adolescents are able to distinguish between right and wrong behavior and consider the moral consequences before acting. Emotionally, the practice of worship and participation in routine religious activities help adolescents manage stress, calm themselves, and control their emotions. Socially, internalized religious awareness encourages the formation of discipline, responsibility, social care, as well as the strengthening of harmonious interpersonal relationships based on empathy

Abstract

This research aims to develop gamified learning media based on digital platforms to support student engagement and motivation in Islamic Religious Education subjects at SMK N 4 Jambi City. The development model used is ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Media validation was conducted by media experts, content experts, teachers, and students using a five-point Likert scale-based validation questionnaire. The validation results showed that the media was declared highly feasible, with an average validation score percentage of 88% for media experts, 85% for content experts, and teacher and student responses falling into the very good category, indicating the technical, content, and practical feasibility of the media for use in learning. Limited trials also revealed that this medium is capable of increasing student engagement and learning motivation, with engagement percentages reaching 78.4% and learning motivation increasing compared to conventional teaching methods. Thus, the gamified learning media based on a digital platform developed is suitable for use as an innovative alternative to support increased student engagement and learning motivation in vocational high schools.

Abstract

The Indonesian Ministry of Education has implemented a new curriculum, the Merdeka curriculum. This new curriculum emphasizes student-centered teaching and learning activities. However, problems and issues in the teaching of Psychology, Pedagogy, and Pancasila continue and are consistent. This study aims to explore teachers' understanding of methods and experiences in learning how to improve students' humanistic values based on Pancasila, and linked to the Merdeka curriculum. This is qualitative research. Case studies were conducted using participant observers and investigators. A total of 6 informants were selected by purposive sampling. The sample consisted of 2 Psychology teachers (counseling), 2 PPKN teachers (Pancasila), and 2 pedagogy teachers. Data were obtained through interviews, classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis. The findings show that teachers have a very good understanding of the concept of differentiation in the Merdeka curriculum; however, teachers experience obstacles and difficulties in their practice and in implementing Pancasila values because the independent curriculum implemented does not influence students' attitudes toward these humanistic values. Therefore, this study suggests that teachers' teaching methods and strategies for learning students' Humanistic values need to be improved and fully supported by schools.

Abstract

This study aims to reinterpret the objectives of Islamic education according to Prof. HM Arifin by situating his ideas within the context of contemporary educational challenges, particularly in integrating the dimensions of faith, knowledge, morality, and social responsibility. The research employs a qualitative library-based method with a conceptual and philosophical approach, using primary data derived from the works of Prof. HM Arifin and secondary data from journal articles, books, and relevant studies on the philosophy and objectives of Islamic education, which are analyzed through content and interpretative analysis. The findings indicate that the objectives of Islamic education according to Prof. HM Arifin is oriented toward the formation of a holistic human being (insān kāmil) through balanced intellectual, spiritual, moral, and social development, so that education is understood not merely as a process of knowledge transfer but also as a means of character formation grounded in divine values while encouraging active human participation in social life. This reinterpretation affirms that Prof. HM Arifin's thought remains relevant in addressing modern educational problems, such as pragmatic tendencies, moral degradation, and the dichotomy between religion and general knowledge, and recommends that future research develop comparative and empirical studies to assess the implementation of these concepts in contemporary educational practice.

Abstract

Education in the era of globalization requires a renewed understanding of how culture and identity are represented within learning spaces. This study examines cultural communication in education through Stuart Hall’s theoretical framework, particularly his theory of representation and the encoding/decoding model. The research employs a qualitative approach using library research, focusing on Hall’s works and contemporary literature on multicultural education. The findings indicate that education functions as a symbolic space where ideologies and identities are constructed. Indonesia’s education system remains biased toward dominant cultural values while marginalizing minority narratives. An inclusive and adaptive communication model is necessary to foster culturally equitable educational practices.

Abstract

The failure of edutainment ventures has become an important issue in the field of educational entrepreneurship (edupreneurship), particularly in Indonesia where empirical studies on local edutainment practices remain limited. This study aims to analyze the factors contributing to the failure of NNS Batam, a role-play-based edutainment park for children that operated from 2019 to 2024, using a qualitative case study approach. Data were collected from four categories of informants—former managers, former employees, visitors, and edupreneurship scholars—through semi-structured interviews, location observation, and digital documentation. Thematic analysis revealed that the failure was not solely caused by external disruptions such as the COVID-19 pandemic but also by internal weaknesses including poor business strategy, lack of meaningful integration of educational values, absence of continuous innovation, and inadequate evaluation mechanisms. A notable gap was found between the company’s educational vision and its operational practices. Expert informants emphasized that sustainable edupreneurship requires synergy between pedagogical value and financial strategy. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of edutainment business failures in emerging urban contexts and offers practical insights for edupreneurs seeking to design adaptive, value-driven, and resilient education-based ventures.
