Abstract

One of the competencies that a teacher must possess is the ability to utilize learning media effectively. The use of learning media is a crucial skill for teachers in Indonesian language learning. Onebenefit ofthis learning media is that it can increase students' learning independence. However, students' level of learning independence, especially in Indonesian language learning, remains relatively low, so quality learning is needed, including the use of learning media such asflipbooks. The purpose of this study was to examine the quality of learning andto analyze students' levels of learning independence when usingflipbooks. This study used a mixed-methods, sequential, exploratory design. The procedures in this study consisted of planning, implementation, and assessment. The sample in this studyconsisted of Grade IV students, divided into experimental and control classes. The research instrumentsincluded Indonesian language test items, student learning independence questionnaires, and learning tools. Qualitative data collection was conducted through interviews with research subjects, questionnaires/observations, and documentation.Quantitative data werecollected through literacy skills tests. Thestudy's resultsshowedvery good average validity, practicality, and implementation scores. These findings serve as evaluation material and input for teachersto improve the quality of learning and provideinteractive learning experiences for students.

Abstract

Students' cultural diversity awareness or cultural sensitivity is not only related to social attitudes but also has implications for value development, character building, and scientific literacy. However, research on the role of guidance andcounselingservices in increasing students' awareness of cultural diversity in Indonesia remains relatively limited. This article aims to provide an overview and evaluation of the contribution of guidance andcounselingservices to increasing students' awareness of cultural diversity in Indonesia over the past decade. Methodologically, this process follows the basic idea ofNarrative Literature Review (NRL). The research results show that over the past 10 years, the role and contribution of guidance andcounselingservices in increasing students' awareness of cultural diversity in Indonesia have been minimal, with only 8 articles meeting the inclusion criteria. Meanwhile, the service approach employed emphasizes guidance rather thancounseling. The results of this study can be used for evaluation and recommendations to guide and counsel teachers or schoolcounselors, as well as researchers in Indonesia, in continuing to provide optimal guidance andcounselingservices that increase students' awareness of cultural diversity.

Abstract

Children with cognitive disabilities frequently experience interconnected nutritional, cognitive, and behavioral challenges that may restrict learning participation. This mixed-methods one-group pilot study examined the preliminary outcomes and acceptability of an integrated Neuro-Nutrition Biofeedback and Balinese Gamelan Sensorimotor-Rhythm (SMR) stimulation program. Twenty children aged 6–12 years from special education schools in Bali participated in an eight-week intervention. Quantitative outcomes included BMI-for-age z-score, sustained attention, working memory, and EEG-recorded SMR amplitude, while qualitative data were obtained from parent and teacher interviews, behavioral observations, and field notes. Repeated-measures MANOVA indicated a significant multivariate effect of time. Holm-adjusted follow-up analyses showed significant changes in attention and working memory. BMI-for-age and SMR amplitude showed positive changes but did not remain statistically significant after adjustment. Qualitative findings revealed gradual food acceptance, improved learning focus, calmer behavioral responses, and strong cultural acceptance of Balinese gamelan. The integrated findings provide preliminary support for a culturally responsive neuro-educational framework linking nutritional readiness, neuroregulatory support, and culturally mediated engagement. SMR should be regarded as a candidate neurophysiological indicator rather than a demonstrated mediator. Larger controlled studies are required to establish efficacy and causal mechanisms.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and test the effectiveness of a digital comic integrating tetrahedral representations (human, microscopic, macroscopic, and symbolic) and ethnochemistry within the context of Sasirangan fabric dyeing. A convergent parallel mixed-methods design was employed, involving students from SMA Negeri 4 and SMA Negeri 12 Banjarmasin. Data collection utilized validation questionnaires for content and media experts, student response questionnaires, tests for conceptual understanding and misconceptions, and an ethnochemistry literacy questionnaire. Effectiveness was assessed using a non-equivalent pretest-posttest design with a control group, involving 120 students divided into control and experimental groups. Validity results from media and content experts indicated that the developed digital comic was highly valid, while student responses demonstrated high practicality with a positive reception. Effectiveness testing revealed that the digital comic improved conceptual understanding and reduced misconceptions in the experimental group compared to the control group. The Mann-Whitney U test results indicated a significant difference between the groups. Overall, the findings suggest that the proposed ethnochemistry-integrated tetrahedral digital comic is valid, practical, and effective for culture-based chemistry learning on colloidal materials.

Abstract

Environmental degradation and climate change highlight the importance of fostering sustainable behavior among university students as future change agents. This study investigates the effects of green motivation and ecological awareness on green behavior, with organizational culture as a moderating variable, in the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI), Institut Agama Islam (IAI) Darussalam Martapura, Indonesia. Employing a quantitative explanatory design, this study used a census approach involving all active FEBI students. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire using a five-point Likert scale and analyzed using Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The results show that green motivation and ecological awareness significantly and positively influence students' green behavior, while organizational culture strengthens both relationships. These findings indicate that individual psychological factors do not solely drive pro-environmental behavior but are strongly shaped by a supportive institutional culture that embeds sustainability values and practices. The study extends pro-environmental behavior research to the context of Islamic higher education and underscores the importance of integrating individual and organizational perspectives in promoting sustainable behavior within higher education institutions.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of PBL-based science teaching materials integrated with local wisdom (PBL-LW) on improving students' environmental literacy (EL). The sample consisted of male and female students from a public Islamic junior high school in Malang, East Java, Indonesia. The one-group pretest-posttest method was employed, utilizing the Middle School Environmental Literacy Survey (MSELS) as the instrument, which covers several aspects of environmental literacy, including knowledge, environmentally conscious attitudes, cognitive skills, and ecologically responsible behavior. The data were analyzed descriptively, and the t-test and the Wilcoxon test were used to assess differences in students' environmental literacy skills. Additionally, the N-Gain test measured the extent of improvement in students' EL. The findings indicate a significant difference in students' EL following PBL-LW science instruction. This is reinforced by the N-Gain results, demonstrating the effectiveness of these teaching materials in enhancing students' EL. This study suggests the need to promote EL in the education system from an early age. This will ensure a better environment in the future and avoid the risk of ecological damage.

Abstract

In the digital age, the process of internalizing national values faces various challenges due to the dominance of conventional and contextually deficient learning approaches. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Yojo digital game-based learning model, which integrates Kaili local wisdom, in strengthening students' understanding of Pancasila values. This study employs a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental one-group pre-test–post-test design involving 20 students at MAN 1 Kota Palu. Data were collected using cognitive tests and perception questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics, N-Gain Scores, and paired-samples t-tests. The results indicate an improvement in student learning outcomes, with the average score increasing from pre-test to post-test and a moderate N-Gain score. Students' perceptions of the Yojo game's use also fell into the high-to-very-high categories, particularly regarding engagement, motivation, and ease of understanding the material. These findings indicate that integrating local wisdom into game-based learning effectively enhances students' understanding and fosters meaningful, culturally contextual learning experiences. This study contributes to the development of a culturally grounded digital learning model that is responsive to contemporary educational needs.
