Emotional intelligence and work stress are related, because when employees feel stressed due to the existing workload, they need to be able to keep their emotions positive and use their emotions as their own motivation to perform their tasks well. In this study, quantitative research methods were used with a correlational research approach. A questionnaire with performance scales, emotional intelligence and work stress scales with a total of 49 questions was used for data collection. Dedicated grab samples were collected in this study and 81 samples were collected. Data analysis techniques that use assumption tests (normality tests, multicollinearity tests, and heteroscadastic tests) and hypothesis tests (partial tests, simultaneous tests, and determination coefficient analysis). The results showed that there was a significant association between the emotional intelligence variables and the performance variables of the employees, resulting from the results of the t-count (8,936) > t-table 1,990 with sig values. 0.000< 0.05 and there is no significant correlation between the variables for work stress and the performance variables of employees resulting from the results of the t-number (0.457) < t-table 1.990.

Abstract

This study explores the psychological well-being of parents with children who have special needs and physical disabilities at the Asuhan Kasih Kupang special school. Six participants, selected through purposive sampling, were involved based on predefined criteria. Using qualitative methods, data was collected through interviews and analyzed using thematic analysis, revealing three key themes: acceptance, caregiving, and social support. The findings indicate that parents' psychological well-being is shaped by their ability to accept their child's condition, develop effective parenting strategies—such as fostering independence and offering positive affirmations—and rely on social support, including emotional, practical, and moral assistance. The study highlights the importance of coping strategies, such as engaging in spiritual activities to enhance gratitude, spending quality time with children, and fostering communication between schools and parents to alleviate anxiety. These insights provide valuable recommendations for enhancing parental well-being and caregiving practices.

Abstract

Consumptive behaviour is the act of excessively purchasing goods for temporary pleasure, which can lead to feelings of anxiety and insecurity. Self-esteem is one of the factors that contribute to consumptive behaviour. Low self-esteem can lead individuals to experience feelings of depression and even psychosomatic disorders. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of self-esteem on consumptive behaviour among 11th-grade female students at SMA N 3 Kota Kupang and to analyze the comparative level of the influence of self-esteem on consumptive behaviour between science (MIPA) and social studies (IPS) students. This research is quantitative and uses simple linear regression analysis techniques. The participants in this study were 86 female 11th-grade students. The data analysis results show that (H1) is accepted, meaning there is an effect of self-esteem on consumptive behaviour, and (H2) is rejected, meaning there is no comparative difference in the level of influence of self-esteem on consumptive behaviour between science and social studies students.

Abstract

. Criminal behaviour can be committed by individuals of any age, including the elderly. For elderly inmates, the transition to a new social status often results in difficulty accepting themselves. Social support plays a vital role in facilitating this self-acceptance. This study aims to explore the dynamics of social support and self-acceptance among elderly inmates at Rote Ndao Correctional Facility. A qualitative approach was employed, utilizing interviews as the primary data collection method. Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) was used to analyze the data, with purposive sampling employed to select participants. The findings reveal that elderly inmates receive various forms of social support, including emotional, instrumental, informational, spiritual, and esteem support. The self-acceptance process involves phases of rejection, self-perception, relationship building, feelings of equality, responsibility, self-confidence, hope, and eventual self-acceptance. These findings highlight the critical role of social support in fostering self-acceptance among elderly prisoners.

Abstract

Nusa Cendana University Kupang has attempted to provide cleaning facilities, but the condition of the campus environment is still dirty due to the behavior of students who litter. If students are not in the campus environment, the campus environment becomes clean. This study examines the knowledge and behavior of waste management in the environment of Nusa Cendana University (UNDANA) Kupang City. This study used a qualitative phenomenological approach with a semi-structured interview method, with 12 participants consisting of lecturers, students, staff, and cleaning service. The results of this study found four main themes: knowledge, awareness, conformity, and facilities. It was found that the knowledge of the academic community about waste management is very low, awareness to maintain cleanliness is low, and social conformity from family and friends also influences negative behavior. In addition, waste bin facilities on campus are still inadequate and unmaintained. This study suggests the need for increased education, improved facilities, and social approaches to increase awareness and waste management behavior among the UNDANA academic community.

The Covid-19 pandemic has necessitated a shift from face-to-face learning to online learning. This transition has led to an alarming phenomenon known as learning loss, characterised by a decline in students' academic knowledge and skills. The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic makes vulnerable to setbacks one of which is students in Disadvantaged, Frontier, and Outermost (3T) areas where inadequate infrastructure, such as limited internet access, and lack of technological proficiency hinder effective learning. Addressing learning loss is crucial to prevent long-term consequences such as exacerbating educational disparities and reducing the overall quality of human capital. Meanwhile, there is a research gap investigating the impact of learning loss and proposing effective strategies to overcome this problem. This article uses descriptive analysis. This article comprehensively explores the impact of learning loss in 3T areas and presents effective mitigation approaches to address this challenge.
