Abstract

Gay is generally used to refer to men with a same-sex or homosexual orientation. Gay is a disorder and a threat to the younger generation, so it should not be allowed to affect them as early as possible. Gay prevention can be done through Christian education in the family, church, and school. Today the existence of the gay community has spread throughout the world through social media. The purpose of this article is, first, to make the Christian congregation aware of the dangers of social media spreading gay influence in society. Second, urge Christian educators to educate about the impact of gayness and provide assistance to children at home, church, and school, so they are protected from gay influence. Students' curiosity is high enough to want to know everything they see on social media. Christian educators must be sensitive to sexual deviations that begin to appear when students experience puberty, start hanging out, and like the same sex. God strictly forbade Lot and his family to look back when God destroyed the immoral cities of Sodom and Gomorrah (Gen. 19:17). Christian educators are expected to be proactive in guiding students to immediately leave their sins so that God's wrath does not fall on them. This paper is based on a review overview of the literature, including the Bible, as an assignment for the course "Critical issues of education." The author examines the results of research and opinions in online newspapers, books, and journals published and refers to the Word of God.

Abstract

This article describes that understanding God's Word is very important by using a Logical approach as the ability to think or reason to study and analyze God's Word so as not to get caught up in mistakes or misguided thinking. The author uses a descriptive qualitative methodology with data collection techniques for library research/library research and is supported by facts among Christians based on information from several Christian religious figures. This article is expected to provide benefits for the development of knowledge in the field of Theology and Christian Religious Education for both lecturers and students so that there needs to be a Logic Course in the Structure of the Theology and Christian Religious Education curriculum in every Christian religious college.

Abstract

In this article, Paul explains and summarizes the general condition of mankind, the goodness of God, and the nature of salvation that God has provided for sinners (lost) through Jesus Christ. Through the hermeneutical-analysis method, the author explains the truth about the existence of humans who have died because of sin and cannot do anything so that God's grace is needed to bring the dead humans to life. This is a picture of life outside of Christ (past) and life in Christ (present).

Abstract

The problem discussed in this article is closely related to the importance of establishing for new believers. Establish serves to convince his faith, as well as to remove all obstacles that hinder a person's decision to believe in the Lord Jesus, such as doubts or feeling unworthy before God. The goal is to establish himself in order to grow in his spirituality. The method used is the Bible study method. The results show that establishing of a new convert is a strategic step to solidify his decision to become a follower of Jesus Christ. In addition, edification has a close relationship with evangelism to prepare him to join the local congregation. It is also clear that establishing is not the same as “Sidi” (learn church doctrine or catechism). Because establishing is a place for reaffirmation of his faith before he was handed over to the church. Establishing has a strategic place in building the mature Body of Christ because it strengthens its faith and testimony.

Abstract

Gadgets have caused some users to experience phubbing, especially millennials. If this is allowed, their self-quality and social relations will worsen. Therefore, this study aims to explain the personification of women in Proverbs 8-9 and their relationship with gadgets, so that they can use gadgets wisely. This research method is qualitative descriptive based on a literature study. The results show that gadgets and the personification of women have three positive and negative elements in common: attractiveness, desire for relationships, and impact. This means that gadgets are like a knife that can be useful for cutting food if used correctly, and also killing humans if used incorrectly. That is why all users are advised to choose the path of wisdom, not foolishness, so that phubbing can be avoided. The way is to build an intimate relationship with God and fear Him. So, this study concludes that they must utilize gadgets, not be utilized by them. In other words, they need to use gadgets when it is necessary, not to satisfy desires, waste time, or distance themselves from physical socialization.

Abstract

Online learning that is currently being carried out in Indonesia is a policy from the government to prevent the spread of Covid-19 from increasing among the community. Through online learning, it is hoped that learning will continue as much as possible in the midst of an emergency like this. However, during online learning, problems were found regarding the behavior of being less active, undisciplined, irresponsible for the assigned tasks, and being lazy to participate in learning caused by decreased learning motivation. The problem formulation of this paper is how the teacher's role as a guide in the formation of student learning behavior during online learning, the aim is to find out how the teacher's role as a guide in the formation of student learning behavior during online learning. The method used is literature review. The results of the study show, as a teacher guide in carrying out his role, he must live in God, make God's Word the foundation of life, recognize students, love students as expressed through reprimand and understand the purpose of the learning carried out. The conclusion of the teacher as a guide must stand on the basis of the truth of God's word and be born again. Suggestions, teachers can use games to deliver learning materials, so that they can trigger students' enthusiasm to learn.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the Children Service Comission (CSC) management of Sunday School kids building spirituality at GMIM Elim Papakelan. Data were collected through observation, interviews and literature study. From the results of the data analysis, the researchers found that: (1) parents play an important role in the formation of the spirituality of Sunday school children. (2) parents act as primary teachers to teach about Christ and His teachings to children. (3) the role of parents to be an example and role model for children. (4) Lazy and negligent parents appear in their behavior that does not play an active role in the formation of children's spirituality, which becomes an obstacle in the formation of children's spirituality. (5) in everyday life parents have not been a good example to be imitated by children. (6) lack of time with children for working parents. (7) teaching and reminding parents through church sermons and special visits is the pastor's effort to play a role in the formation of children's spirituality. (8) the efforts of Sunday school teachers to hold creative programs to attract children to participate in Sunday school activities and include parents in them. (9) parents try to improve themselves in order to be a good example for children. (10) maximize time with children.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is that everyone is involved in implementing the Great Commission of Jesus Christ so that church growth occurs. The harvest is a lot but the workers are few, this is the Word of our Lord Jesus Christ. To produce a harvest of souls that are won for Christ, the Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20 must be carried out namely “Go” (Preach) and Make disciples (Discipleship). Evangelism is the first step as a disciple. And being a disciple is an activity that aims to motivate and train spiritually mature believers to devote themselves wholeheartedly to God in order to become disciples. Evangelism and discipleship are one and cannot be separated. Evangelism is the first step as a disciple. If every church and its members carry out this great commission well, it will bring many people to come to Christ and this has an impact on the growth of the church. The book of Matthew was originally addressed to early Christians but God's Word is still relevant in every age, because the essence of the Word always directs everyone to believe Jesus is the savior of mankind. This study uses a qualitative method, by collecting data and information from various library sources such as the Bible, spiritual books and journals which are concluded and used in this research so as to lead everyone to carry out the Great Commission so that the church can grow well.

Abstract

The reality of the Church as a community that cannot avoid conflict or dispute is something that cannot be denied. Church communities in which there are differences in economics, backgrounds, education, parenting patterns, and so on, will continue to be the trigger for conflicts or disputes within the Church. If this is not taken seriously, then any conflict or dispute will have the potential to divide a community, such as the Church. Seeing this reality, this paper uses a qualitative approach to create a local theology, namely the theology of raputalang by using the lens (perspective) of the local theology design offered by Robert J. Schreiter. This study also uses the reading of the text of Galatians 6:2, to assist the theology of raputalang in achieving what this research wants, namely as a basis for reconciliation of conflicts in the Church. With that description, this paper will offer how everyone should behave towards each other so that it is not easy to cause conflicts or disputes in their coexistence. This will make the Church more likely to avoid conflicts or disputes and be able to focus on proclaiming peace to all creatures, as God has commanded.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the purpose of worship based on John 12:1-12. The method used in this article is literary research or literature with a descriptive approach. As Christians the purpose of our worship is to glorify God's name, God-centered worship should be where God is glorified, regardless of the human factor. The purpose of worship is not only to receive blessings from God, but also to give offerings to God.
