Abstract

Matematika dinilai sebagai mata pelajaran yang sulit bagi siswa karena sebagian besar materi matematika adalah berhitung dan sebagian besar siswa tidak tertarik dengan perhitungan. Salah satu operasi hitung dalam matematika adalah operasi hitung perkalian. Banyak siswa yang merasa kesulitan dalam mempelajari konsep perkalian, karena sebagian besar guru masih menggunakan metode konvensional dalam menyampaikan materi ini. Metode konvensional menuntut siswa untuk menghafal dan banyak siswa yang kurang memiliki kemampuan dalam menghafal. Hal inilah yang menyebabkan minat dan motivasi siswa untuk belajar matematika menjadi minim. Salah satu solusi yang ditawarkan pada kegiatan pengabdian ini adalagh pendampingan belajar operasi hitung perkalian menggunakan metode jarimatika. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah pendampingan belajar operasi hitung perkalian menggunakan metode jarimatika dikatakan berhasil meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam berhitung dan memahami konsep operasi perkalian. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil peningkatan rata-rata nilai pre test dan post test siswa, rata-rata nilai siswa meningkat dari 26 menjadi 83 setelah mengikuti kegiatan pendampingan belajar ini.

Abstract

The purpose of this service is to facilitate PKK members in Krobokan Village there are several large tofu making factories. UMKM tofu producers in Krobokan Village from the last few years have experienced a fairly high increase in production. This is because the level of public consumption of tofu has increased. The increase in tofu production is offset by an increase in the residual value of production, namely tofu pulp. Tofu waste, which is known to still have a lot of nutritional content, has not been optimally utilized, apart from being made into animal feed. This condition became the idea of the PKK members of Krobokan Village to create alternative products from tofu dregs. This activity was carried out by providing entrepreneurial training to PKK members to produce tofu pulp into crackers and nuggets. The result of this community service activity is that the PKK members of Krobokan Village gain knowledge and skills about utilizing tofu dregs into food that is delicious, nutritious and has economic selling value.

Abstract

One of the communities in Central Kalimantan's Bulik District, Lamandau Regency, is Sumber Mulya Village. In general, the oil palm plantation industry, along with a number of fishing and cattle enterprises, make up the community's economy. There is currently no broiler poultry company in the neighborhood; instead, the livestock industry consists of ruminant animals like cows and goats. Implementing community service has as its goal raising public awareness of the value of fodder in the beef cattle industry. Utilizing methods of counseling and discussion, the implementation was carried out. The procedure of locating the service area is the first step in carrying out the activity. This is followed by community service and visits and interviews with the village chief. Breeders in E2 Village (Sumber Mulya) became more interested in the kinds of forages that could produce high yields as a result of the outreach activities on the importance of forage to support the beef cattle business. Breeders were also very eager to discuss the challenges they faced when raising their livestock. It is believed that by engaging in this activity, breeders will become more aware of the importance of feed to their livestock's ability to produce at their peak.

Abstract

With the increasing interest and participation of students in debating activities at both the campus and national levels, debates are considered as an activity that provides broad benefits for the development of students' critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills. However, to compete effectively in the increasingly competitive debate competitions, students need a deep understanding of the debate system commonly used in competitions, such as the National University Debate Championship (NUDC).This community service article focuses on English debate training based on the British Parliamentary Debate System for students at English Language Education Study Program at Samudra University. This service program aims to prepare students to participate in regional and national debate competitions. The implementation of the training program includes a variety of effective methods, including theoretical lectures, debate simulations, group discussions, provision of reading materials, and evaluation of feedback. The results obtained from this program include improving students' English language skills, understanding of the British Parliamentary Debate System debate system, developing critical and analytical thinking skills, increasing self-confidence and communication skills, and readiness to take part in local and national debate competitions. The results of this community service not only benefit students, but also contribute to the development and reputation of English Education Study Program at Samudra University as a whole.

Abstract

The development of information technology does not only play a role in the economic sector but also in the education sector. Today every teacher at almost all levels of education is required to be literate in technology, especially information technology. In addition to supporting educational activities, information technology literacy also supports teachers in solving administrative problems. One of the software that can be used to support education and administrative issues is Microsoft Word, Microsoft Word software, has many features that are still not familiar to some users, especially elementary school (SD) teachers. This was experienced by the teachers of SD N 104276 Kebun Ubi who were not familiar with the many tools provided in software such as Microsoft Word. Some of the obstacles that are often encountered are the lack of maximum use of referencing tools in Microsoft Word. This is the background for the service team to provide training on "Increasing Skills in Using Microsoft Office for Teachers of SD N 104276 Sweet Potato Gardens". Through this activity, it is hoped that the skills and understanding of participants will increase regarding the use of office software.

Abstract

Teluk Lerong Ulu Village has the highest population density compared to six other villages in Sungai Kunjang District, Samarinda City, and with dense settlements and minimal yard land. Innovation in cultivating horticultural crops can create sustainability, land use efficiency, meet daily food consumption, and increase the income level of residents if cultivated intensively. If horticultural crops are done intensively and become a culture in an environment, the environment becomes a beautiful and resilient environment. This community service program aims to be a form of synergy between the world of higher education and the community by increasing community insight and skills by cultivating horticultural crops in the yard using plastic waste. The method of implementing activities is in the form of extension activities and practices on the cultivation of horticultural crops by utilizing plastic waste as a place to grow crops. In this activity, the community can take advantage of a narrow yard by planting horticultural types and can use plastic waste as a planting medium, so that people will easily get food, especially vegetables needed by households, and can reduce household expenses in terms of buying vegetables.

Abstract

Gadgets are very important for human life to communicate, increase relationships, business, add insight, knowledge, and education. On the other side, the opposite occurs due to the negligence of the wearer or the inaccuracy in utilizing the actual function. So many bad or negative effects that arise in the use of gadgets, especially for early children. The purpose of community service is: 1) providing information about technological developments and understanding of the impact of using gadgets, 2) providing information about prevention so that children do not become dependent on gadgets. This community service activity was held in Pelita Harapan Orphanage, Cangkir street number 21a, Sei Putih Tengah, Medan Petisah Subdistrict, Medan. The main methodology in this research is to use the method of socialization approach that is lecture, dialogue, discussion and games. The results in discussions with Pelita Harapan Orphanage consisted of: 1) the adverse effects of using gadgets on early children, 2) how to prevent early children from becoming addicted to gadgets, 3) how to deal with early children who were addicted to gadgets.

Abstract

According to the 2021 Indonesia Nutrition Status Survey, the percentage of stunting cases in Kutai Kartanegara Regency is 26.4%, which is still above the national development target of 14%. Six out of ten villages in Sebulu District are stunting locus including in Sebulu Ilir Village and Segihan Village. One of the stunting preventions in the family setting that could be done is through partnerships, community empowerment, and Educational Information Communication (IEC) related to Clean and Healthy Behavior. This community service activity aims to establish a partnership with the public health center; increasing knowledge about clean and healthy behavior among posyandu cadres and mothers through IEC strategies and community empowerment. The method used were lecture and group discussion. The activities started with (1) preparation and coordination with the health center and village officials; (2) implementing IEC to increase the capacity of posyandu cadres; (3) cadres practice IEC for mothers of childen under five; (4) evaluation monitoring. The IEC results showed that cadres have increased their knowledge and are skilled at using flipcharts to carry out health education at posyandu. Cadres have also been able to carry out IEC with the small group discussion method and simulation targeting mothers of childen under five Follow-up activities have also been carried outt namely the implementation of IEC by cadres at posyandu.

Abstract

Clean water used as a source of drinking water must meet eligibility criteria based on chemical, physical and biological parameters. Physical parameters such as pH, temperature, TDS, and EC are very easy to apply directly in the analysis of well water quality in community outreach activities in the village of Kertosari. This activity is important because water wells are found in almost every villager's house and are used as drinking water and for cooking. well water in Kertosari village has never been tested for water quality as good water for consumption. Counseling on testing the quality of residents' well water will provide information on the feasibility level as drinking water based on physical test parameters. Drinking water quality tests were carried out in 31 areas in Kertosari which were carried out by well owners. 5 of them have good drinking water quality standards based on physical parameters. This activity is very useful and becomes important information for residents with the percentage value of the results of filling out the questionnaire on the respondent's satisfaction variable is 96% and the speaker's ability to provide information is 93%. so this activity goes well.

Abstract

SMEs have a big role in supporting the regional economy. Many efforts have been made by all parties, both the central and regional governments so that SMEs can continue to grow. SMEs practitioners in Kalimiru Village, Purworejo, are still limited in number and the average age of them are old. They do not know about the importance of branding and the logo used. The aims of this community service program are to be able to develop the local economy of the local area by empowering home-based businesses to become productive local SMEs. Effective training and socialization of branding and logo design were provided to the people of Kalimiru village to optimize their home industry. Branding and logo design training was given to 20 people Kalimiru Village SMEs. The selected participants already had their own products. Participants are given knowledge about branding in language that is easy to understand so that it is easier to be accepted. Participants were also introduced with making logo designs and media that can be used. The results of this community service program are participants have understood the importance of branding and the media to create their creative logos to support the marketing of their products. Through strong branding and an effective logo, it is hoped that SMEs can be more advanced and support the improvement of the regional economy.
