Abstract

The development of digital technology has made it easier for humans to communicate and access information, especially through social media, which has become an integral part of Generation Z's lives. The high intensity of social media use exposes Generation Z to the phenomenon of Fear of Missing Out (FoMO), which is the fear of being left behind in terms of information, trends, and social activities shared by others. This condition has the potential to cause social media fatigue, which is a feeling of tiredness, boredom, and overwhelm due to an excessive flow of information. The aim of this study is to analyze the influence of FoMO on social media fatigue among Generation Z in Padang. Using purposive sampling, this study involved 100 respondents. In this study, the respondents were Generation Z active social media users in Padang City who were between the ages of 18 and 28. The test was conducted using simple linear regression analysis. The results of the study show that there is a relationship between FoMO and social media fatigue with a value of 34.3%. The results of this study are expected to contribute theoretically to communication studies and practically to efforts to improve the digital literacy of young people so that they can use social media more wisely.

Abstract

Abstract The sub-district performance evaluation on general government affairs implementation in Sleman Regency of 2021-2023 is a study focuses on the implementation of the municipality's duties and functions in the general government affairs of the Sleman district. There are three major issues with the district's implementation of general government affairs. First, the sub-district as a regional government agency that has territorial aspects but does not hold a position as the authority or regional head of the territory and is not a sectoral administrator such as technical government agency or department in the regional government structure. Second, public service authorities in the sub-district sector have been greatly reduced by using digital government platforms. Third, the village's government functions are geographically located within the sub-district area. Among these issues, it is important to know the performance of the general government affairs in the sub-district of Sleman in order to strengthen the strategic role of sub-districts in regional government. The study uses a descriptive-qualitative approach by collecting data on the implementation of general government affairs in 17 (seven) sub-districts in the Sleman Regency during the period 2021–2023, through observations, surveys, and in-depth interviews. Data analysis techniques use describtive analysis methods to describe and analyze research results. The study's findings indicate that the sub-district's performance of the implementation on general government affairs was lower when compared to the performance of the sub-district as government agency. The performance of sub-distric general government affairs is influenced by collaborative leadership and the implementation of mitigation, facilitation, mediation, supervision, and advocacy functions.

Abstract

Post-disaster management in Indonesia faces significant challenges, particularly in highly vulnerable areas such as Nagari Bukik Batabuah, Agam Regency, which was affected by cold lava floods from the eruption of Mount Marapi in May 2024. The main problem lies in collaboration between the government and Non-State Actors (NSAs), particularly regarding differences in recovery approaches, obstacles to data collection on vulnerable groups, and obstacles in aid distribution. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of NSA involvement in post-disaster management, identify patterns of cross-actor interaction, and challenges faced in the collaborative process. Using qualitative methods with a descriptive approach, this study collected data through observation, interviews, and documentation analyzed using the Manual Data Analysis Procedure (MDAP) and Strauss and Corbin coding techniques. The research findings reveal that NSAs, such as Jemari Sakato, play a significant role in accelerating recovery through inclusive programs and assistance targeting vulnerable groups. However, collaboration with the village government is often hampered by weak coordination, lack of data transparency, and suboptimal collaborative institutional design. Public response to the NSA intervention was generally positive, but criticisms persisted regarding data collection and information transparency. This study emphasizes the need to strengthen collaborative governance that is inclusive, participatory, and equitable so that post-disaster recovery in vulnerable areas can be effective, sustainable, and responsive to local needs.

Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of minimum wage policy implementation from a public administration perspective, focusing on poverty alleviation outcomes in Banten Province during 2013-2023. Through quantitative analysis of time-series data, the research examines how administrative mechanisms and governance structures influence policy outcomes. The findings reveal that minimum wage policy administration significantly impacts poverty thresholds (b = 0.181, p ¡ 0.01), while administrative efforts in unemployment management and economic growth initiatives show less pronounced effects. The strong model fit (R² = 0.966) provides crucial insights for public administrators regarding policy implementation effectiveness. Results indicate that successful poverty alleviation requires improved administrative coordination, enhanced policy monitoring systems, and strengthened government frameworks. This study advances public administration theory by providing empirical evidence on policy implementation effectiveness and offers practical recommendations for improving regional governance in poverty alleviation programs. The research contributes to public administration literature by demonstrating how quantitative analysis can inform better policy implementation and governance strategies

Abstract

Copper and brass crafts in Tumang Village, Cepogo District, Boyolali Regency, remain the mainstay of the community's economy. Unlike many other traditional craft centers that have declined due to their inability to adapt, Tumang has continued to develop and become known as the largest metal craft center in Indonesia. This study explains the survival strategies of the copper and brass craft industry in Tumang Village. The main problems faced by craftsmen are global competition, limited workforce regeneration, and the need to adapt to developments in digital technology. This study was conducted in July–August 2025 using qualitative methods, namely a research approach that focuses on an in-depth understanding of social phenomena from the perspective of the research subjects. Research subjects included entrepreneurs, employee craftsmen, community leaders, and village government officials who have a direct relationship with the sustainability of the Tumang craft industry. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, then analyzed descriptively qualitatively. The research findings indicate that survival strategies in Tumang include product design innovation, maintaining handmade quality, modernizing digital-based marketing systems, dividing roles between entrepreneurs and employees, integrating with the tourism sector, and regenerating the workforce through internships, educational collaborations, and extracurricular activities. These findings demonstrate that the survival of Tumang crafts relies not solely on past cultural heritage but also on the ability to adapt to social, economic, and technological changes. The implications of this research contribute to strengthening the literature on sustainability strategies for the traditional crafts industry in Indonesia while also offering practical perspectives for developing regional policies and empowering communities based on local wisdom. Keywords: Survival Strategy, Industrial Sustainability, Copper and Brass Crafts, Tumang Village, Creative Economy

Abstract

This research aims to analyze and explain the dynamics of complementarity politics and administration in the relationship between democracy and bureaucracy in the road infrastructure governance process in Wonosobo Regency. This phenomenon is interesting to study because it involves political actors in the Regional Legislative Council (DPRD), as well as administrative actors from the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) and the Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency (Dinas PUPR) in Wonosobo Regency, all engaged in a complementary relationship regarding road infrastructure issues, an issue that has garnered significant attention from the community. The complementarity framework used in this study refers to the framework proposed by Svara (2001), which is based on three principles: interdependency, reciprocal influence, and extensive interaction. This study employs a qualitative method with a case study approach. The results indicate that efforts are being made to preserve democracy while avoiding subordination by Bappeda and the PUPR agency to DPRD control; there is an integral relationship between the DPRD, Bappeda, and the PUPR agency in maintaining public preferences regarding road infrastructure; parliamentary involvement in the inclusiveness of the administrative process; and other factors in the planning process for road infrastructure development in Wonosobo Regency.

Abstract

Academic procrastination undermines student achievement worldwide; yet, prior evidence on its antecedents focuses almost exclusively on individual-level self-regulation, while overlooking social pressures. This study investigates whether peer conformity mediates the relationship between self-regulation and procrastination among university students, thereby integrating cognitive-behavioural and sociocultural perspectives. A cross-sectional survey was administered to 428 undergraduates (Mage = 20.1 ± 1.4 years; 63 % female) recruited via stratified random sampling across four Indonesian universities. Participants completed validated Indonesian versions of the Short Self-Regulation Questionnaire, the Academic Procrastination Scale, and the Peer Conformity Scale. After confirmatory factor and reliability analyses, a latent-variable path model with a 5,000-sample bootstrap was tested in AMOS to estimate direct and indirect effects. The measurement model demonstrated good fit (χ²/df = 1.89, CFI = 0.962, TLI = 0.955, RMSEA = 0.046). Self-regulation negatively predicted conformity (β = −0.46, p < .001) and procrastination (β = −0.31, p < .001). Conformity positively predicted procrastination (β = 0.35, p < .001). A significant indirect path confirmed that conformity partially mediates the self-regulation–procrastination link (βindirect = −0.16, 95 % CI [−0.23, −0.10]), accounting for 34 % of the total effect. Findings extend social-cognitive models of delay behaviour by showing that low personal control heightens susceptibility to peer-norm pressures, intensifying procrastination. Interventions should pair self-regulatory training with strategies that recalibrate classroom norms (e.g., collaborative goal setting) to curb academic delay.

Abstract

The agricultural sector is one of the backbones of national development, playing a vital role in ensuring food security, creating jobs, and improving public welfare. However, increasing productivity in modern agriculture, which relies on the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, presents challenges to human health and environmental sustainability. The Indonesian government has established the Fertilizer and Pesticide Supervisory Commission (KPPP) as an institution tasked with overseeing the distribution and use of agricultural chemicals through Technical Instructions (Juknis). This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the KPPP technical guidelines in Solok Regency, specifically regarding pesticide supervision. The study used a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method, involving five key informants from the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Health, and the Department of Environment. Data were collected through focus group discussions (FGDs) and then analyzed using content analysis techniques. The results indicate that the implementation of the KPPP technical guidelines has not been optimal. Pesticide supervision still focuses on administrative verification without comprehensive field monitoring, and coordination across agencies has not been effectively established. This study emphasizes the need for institutional strengthening, increased resource capacity, and the establishment of an integrated monitoring and evaluation system to ensure more adaptive and accountable pesticide supervision.

Abstract

The Child Identity Card (KIA) Program is a national policy in the field of population administration that aims to provide official identification for children as part of fulfilling civil rights and improving the quality of public services. In Padang Pariaman Regency, the KIA Program has been implemented for the past few years, but KIA ownership is not yet optimal. Problems encountered include low public understanding and awareness of the benefits of KIA, the lack of integration of KIA with other public services such as education and health, and technical obstacles in the document issuance and distribution process. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the Child Identity Card (KIA) Program in Padang Pariaman Regency by examining policy implementation, policy outcomes, and supporting and inhibiting factors for its implementation by the Population and Civil Registration Office. The study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies with Disdukcapil (District Population and Civil Registration) officials, village officials, schools, and the community as service recipients. Data analysis was conducted using William N. Dunn's policy evaluation criteria, which include effectiveness, efficiency, adequacy, equity, responsiveness, and feasibility, as well as Pressman and Wildavsky's implementation framework, which includes resource availability, inter-agency coordination, clarity of tasks and procedures, and bureaucratic complexity. The results indicate that the implementation of the KIA Program in Padang Pariaman Regency has been carried out administratively through various service innovations and is relatively efficient. However, effectiveness, adequacy, equity, and feasibility are not optimal due to limited infrastructure, weak cross-sectoral coordination, and low utilization of KIA in public services. Therefore, policy strengthening and cross-sectoral integration are needed so that the benefits of the KIA Program can be felt more evenly and sustainably.
