Abstract

Mayong Lor has been known as a center of the ceramic industry for centuries and has been passed down from generation to generation. With the changing times, the condition of Mayong Lor ceramics is now facing serious challenges, namely a regeneration crisis. The younger generation is showing decreasing interest in the ceramic craft profession. Furthermore, the rapidly expanding number of factories in Jepara has led the younger generation to choose to work in factories. The purpose of this study is to determine the interest of the younger generation in the existence of ceramic crafts amidst the rise of garment factories. This study uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive analysis approach. Data collection uses a snowball sampling technique, data sources are obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that ceramic crafts are increasingly declining, the majority of craftsmen are currently elderly and many have died. The main factor causing the change in interest of the younger generation towards ceramic crafts is the consideration of income obtained because the younger generation thinks that working in a factory is more certain and more quickly profitable. In addition, ceramic crafts are also considered old-fashioned and outdated, the process of making ceramics is difficult, heavy, and dirty because it is related to soil. This change in interest of the younger generation has caused the ceramic crafts in Mayong Lor Village to decline.

Abstract

Village development is fundamental to improving community welfare and reducing regional disparities. This study analyzes village development planning in Indonesia using a systematic literature review approach on recent studies. The findings indicate that the effectiveness of village development planning is influenced by community participation, institutional capacity, and technological integration. However, community participation faces limited understanding and ineffective deliberation mechanisms. Weak institutional capacity at the village level also hinders the implementation of development programs, highlighting the need to strengthen governance systems and ensure transparency in village fund management. Moreover, the utilization of technology in village development planning remains suboptimal, despite its potential to enhance planning efficiency and program monitoring. This study emphasizes the importance of a holistic approach to village development planning by integrating social, economic, and technological aspects to create a more adaptive and sustainable development model. The findings contribute to policymakers in formulating more inclusive and locally driven village development strategies. Furthermore, this study serves as a reference for future research in developing a more responsive village development planning model that addresses social and economic challenges in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' English vocabulary mastery through song-based learning activities at SMAN 12 Merangin. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with a qualitative approach. This study was conducted for two cycles. The research subjects were 30 students of class X of SMA Negeri 12 Merangin. The results of the study indicate that the application of song-based learning in English subjects has proven significant in improving students' English vocabulary mastery. This is evidenced by the data of an increase of 83.3% from the initial 66.7% after the application of the song method for 2 cycles of 4 meetings with a duration of 2x45 minutes each meeting. In cycle 1, the highest score was 95 and the lowest was 25, while the highest score in cycle 2 was 100 and the lowest was 50. The increase in the average score from cycle 1 to cycle 2 started from 76.7 to 87.3. This shows that, although the application of songs in English learning as an effort to improve English vocabulary mastery is effective, there are several factors that influence the results. Factors such as motivation, interest, active involvement of students during the learning process, as well as external factors such as the availability of learning media devices such as sound systems. However, the application of this learning method not only improves English vocabulary mastery, but also encourages student activity and interest in learning due to the application of songs in the learning process, thereby creating a more comfortable learning atmosphere, especially for students with an auditory learning style.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyse the effect of digital learning media and learning interest on learning outcomes based on gender. This study uses a quantitative approach with Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) through Multi-Group Analysis (MGA), involving 254 students from Madrasah Tsanawiyah in Singosari, Malang, to measure the effect of digital learning media and student learning interest on learning outcomes. The results of structural test showed that neither digital learning media nor learning interest had a significant effect on learning outcomes, and gender did not moderate the relationship. Further, based on PLS-MGA, it is found that gender did not moderate the relationship in the model. Suggestions for future research include exploring the relationship between students' learning styles and the use of learning media, conducting longitudinal studies to evaluate the long-term impacts of digital learning media on outcomes, and considering factors such as personality, motivation, and age differences as moderating variables to gain a more comprehensive understanding of their effects on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

The spice commodity trade has shaped the history of sea trade routes, which cannot be separated from Surabaya's important role in international relations. The Indonesian government has made the spice route a cultural priority for 2021 to gain world cultural heritage recognition. This research uses a mixed method with three approaches: phenomenological, cross-sectional, and quasi-experiment. The results of this research include: (a) Public understanding regarding the existence of the exoticism of the Surabaya spice route is still low; (b) Low knowledge regarding evidence of the spice route in Surabaya; and (c) There is a need for media that can promote the existence of the exoticism of the spice route. Based on these results, researchers offer promotional media in the form of the Arempaja board game to communicate the exotic existence of the Surabaya spice route to the broader community, especially the younger generation. In line with this solution, researchers utilized the connectionist theory by Edward L Thorndike, relating stimulus events (s) to responses (r). The contents of the Arempaja board game are taken from the results of in-depth interviews with several perspectives and direct visits to trail points on the Surabaya spice route. Based on the results of the effectiveness test, it was found that the Arempaja board game increased players' understanding of the Surabaya spice route. This research concludes that the Arempaja board game is suitable for promotional media or learning media regarding the exotic existence of the Surabaya spice route.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the SAVI (Somatic, Auditory, Visualization, Intellectual) learning model on: (1) students' learning motivation and (2) students' learning outcomes in Social Studies. This model was implemented to enhance student engagement in learning and to assess its effectiveness compared to conventional methods. This research employs a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental non-equivalent control group design. The subjects of the study were eighth-grade students at MTs Almaarif 02 Singosari Malang, divided into an experimental class and a control class. The experimental class received instruction using the SAVI learning model, while the control class was taught using the lecture method. Data were collected through motivation questionnaires and learning outcome tests. Statistical analysis was conducted using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and N-Gain tests to measure learning improvement. The results indicate that: (1) the SAVI learning model positively influences students' learning motivation, as they became more active and demonstrated greater enthusiasm in the learning process and (2) the SAVI learning model significantly improves students' learning outcomes compared to conventional methods, as evidenced by increased comprehension and academic achievement. Based on these findings, it is recommended that teachers implement the SAVI learning model as an innovative strategy to enhance students' motivation and learning outcomes. Future research can explore the effectiveness of this model across different subjects and educational levels.
