Abstract

The community service deducation about composter and eco enzyme education was held at RT 03 RW 01, Rungkut Menanggal, Surabaya, to respond the problem of household organic waste management that still not effective. This activity aims to give the residents knowledge and skills for change organic waste into eco-friendly product by training them how to make composter and eco enzyme. The method used including problem identification through observation, coordination with local community leaders, making educational materials, deliver it by demonstration, and evaluation. The result show positive response and active participation from the residents in understanding and doing sustainable waste management practices. The residents start to understand that organic waste like fruit peels and food leftovers can be turn into natural cleaner or fertilizer for plants. This activity becomes the first step to build ecological awareness and social responsibility for the environment around them.

Abstract

Program pengabdian masyarakat ini berfokus pada pemberdayaan UMKM melalui transformasi digital dan pelatihan pemasaran sebagai upaya penguatan ekonomi lokal di Kelurahan Bulak Banteng, Surabaya. Kegiatan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya literasi digital dan masih dominannya pemasaran konvensional di kalangan UMKM setempat, yang berpotensi menghambat daya saing di era digital. Tujuan utama pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan UMKM dalam memanfaatkan platform digital untuk promosi dan perluasan pasar, serta membantu digitalisasi usaha mereka. Kegiatan ini bermitra dengan Pemerintah Kelurahan Bulak Banteng dan Komunitas UMKM setempat. Metode yang digunakan adalah Participatory Action Research (PAR) dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, melibatkan survei door-to-door, pendampingan pembuatan akun media sosial, pendaftaran di marketplace, dan sosialisasi pemasaran digital. Hasil yang dicapai meliputi keberhasilan pendaftaran 31 UMKM di Google Maps, 4 UMKM di Shopee Food, 1 UMKM di GoFood, 1 UMKM di Marketplace Shopee, serta pendampingan pembuatan akun Instagram dan TikTok untuk beberapa UMKM. Selain itu, sosialisasi dan pelatihan terkait digital marketing juga dilakukan. Capaian ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan visibilitas digital dan potensi jangkauan pasar yang lebih luas bagi UMKM di Kelurahan Bulak Banteng. Keberhasilan program ini menggarisbawahi pentingnya digitalisasi dalam meningkatkan ketahanan dan daya saing UMKM lokal, sekaligus mendukung pencapaian Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan (SDGs) terkait pertumbuhan ekonomi yang inklusif.

Abstract

Abstract: The community service program entitled "Digitalization and Business Legality of MSMEs" was part of the Thematic Community Service (KKN) on National Defense conducted by UPN "Veteran" East Java students in Ploso Urban Village, Tambaksari District, Surabaya. This program was motivated by the low level of business legality and digital adoption among Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). It aimed to enhance legal registration and digital readiness of MSMEs in alignment with SDG 8. Community partners included local MSME actors, village officials, and the Halal Product Process Assistance Institution (LP3H). The method involved field surveys, technical assistance, and direct facilitation for OSS registration, Google Maps business listing, QRIS activation, and halal certification. As a result, dozens of MSMEs obtained Business Identification Numbers (NIB), listed their businesses online, adopted digital payment, and began halal certification through the free self-declare scheme. The outcomes highlight that collaborative and educational approaches are essential to empower MSMEs in facing digital and regulatory transitions. This initiative contributes significantly to strengthening community-based local economic resilience.

Abstract

The Smart Finance and MSME Digitalization Program in Nginden Jangkungan Village is a community service activity created based on an analysis of the needs of MSMEs and women in the KSH group. This program combines financial management education with digital technology training as a way to face the challenges of the ever-evolving economy. In the financial section, participants are taught how to record daily cash flow, conduct monthly financial evaluations, separate business and personal funds, and set a fixed salary for business owners. Meanwhile, in the digital section, participants are trained to create an online store on Shopee and register their business location on Google Maps, using a hands-on method (learning by doing). Survey results showed that most participants felt very helped, both financially and technologically. This program has proven to be beneficial, tailored to community needs, and can be implemented in other areas. The approach used follows the principles of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the TOE Framework, which emphasize the importance of ease of use and environmental readiness in supporting MSMEs entering the digital world.

Abstract

Permasalahan pengelolaan sampah, khususnya dalam mendorong daur ulang dan pemanfaatan sampah rumah tangga, masih menjadi tantangan bagi banyak komunitas bank sampah. Bank Sampah BUGERS (BS BUGERS) di Kelurahan Pacarkeling, Surabaya, memiliki potensi yang cukup besar namun belum optimal memanfaatkan media digital dan minimnya keterampilan dalam mengolah minyak jelantah. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, mahasiswa KKN Kelompok 31 UPN “Veteran” Jawa Timur melakukan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang bertujuan untuk memperkuat identitas digital masyarakat dan meningkatkan keterampilan mengolah sampah. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan partisipatif melalui pendidikan, pelatihan, advokasi, dan difusi ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi kepada masyarakat. Hasil kegiatan ini mencakup dua luaran utama, yaitu pembuatan media digital (website, Instagram, dan LYNK.ID) lengkap dengan pelatihan pengelolaan dan pelatihan pembuatan lilin dari minyak jelantah. Para pengurus sudah mampu mengelola Instagram dan LYNK.ID namun masih memerlukan pendampingan dalam pengelolaan website. Selain itu, kegiatan pelatihan lilin ini berhasil meningkatkan keterampilan masyarakat dalam mengolah minyak jelantah. Kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa digitalisasi dan inovasi dalam produk daur ulang dapat meningkatkan kapasitas dan kemandirian masyarakat dalam menjaga lingkungan.

Abstract

The success of MSMEs in marketing a product is determined by the implementation of effective branding. This is because strong branding can build a product brand perception among consumers, for example by utilizing increasingly advanced technology. However, MSMEs still lack understanding of the importance and strategies of branding. In Bulak Village, MSMEs still lack understanding of branding strategies, minimal product identity creativity, and limited use of social media as a promotional tool. As a concrete solution, an integrated branding program has been implemented in Bulak Village. This program includes MSME Branding-Marketing socialization, Menu Review sessions, and ongoing mentoring. This program aims to analyze the program's effectiveness in improving MSME performance. This activity uses a mixed method to collect data. Data were collected through direct observation and interviews of activities, as well as filling out forms (questionnaires) to obtain quantitative data on perceptions and performance. The results show that the branding socialization program significantly increased MSMEs' understanding of the importance of branding. Meanwhile, the mentoring program had a substantial positive impact on MSME performance, both in terms of product identity creativity and the use of promotional media.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang dilaksanakan oleh KKN 72 UPN "Veteran" Jawa Timur bertujuan untuk memberdayakan Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) di Kecamatan Kutisari, Surabaya, yang menghadapi tantangan dalam hal branding, jangkauan pemasaran, dan pengelolaan keuangan. Program ini dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan partisipatif yang melibatkan identifikasi permasalahan spesifik di setiap UMKM, dilanjutkan dengan sesi pendampingan. Intervensi disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan masing-masing pelaku usaha dan berfokus pada tiga aspek utama: rebranding melalui pembuatan logo dan desain kemasan baru, pelatihan pemasaran digital untuk memperluas jangkauan pasar, dan digitalisasi pembukuan menggunakan aplikasi posSaku untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dan akurasi pencatatan keuangan. Sebagian besar mitra UMKM berhasil menerapkan perubahan ini dan menunjukkan peningkatan dalam pengelolaan usaha. Program ini memberikan solusi praktis dan aplikatif yang dapat meningkatkan daya saing UMKM di era digital dan menyoroti pentingnya pendekatan berbasis kebutuhan dalam mengembangkan kapasitas wirausaha lokal.

Abstract

The Sewing Thematic Village in Rangkah Subdistrict faces challenges in market expansion due to the absence of a strong visual identity. Visual identity plays a crucial role in branding strategy and building brand awareness. This Community Service Program aims to assist the residents of the Sewing Thematic Village in designing and strengthening their visual identity and increasing public brand awareness. The method involved participatory discussions, logo and visual design, village profile video production, visual media installations, and the inauguration of the village’s name and logo. The results show increased awareness among residents regarding branding importance and the enhancement of brand assets through installed visuals in active tailor houses. This activity also helps establish the village’s image as a creative hub for sewing-based businesses. The outcomes are significant as a foundation for sustainable marketing strategies for local SMEs and demonstrate how community-based branding can enhance the competitiveness of thematic villages.

Abstract

This community service activity is motivated by the importance of empowering women through developing environmentally friendly, locally-based skills. The PKK women of Ngagel Rejo Village, Surabaya, as community service partners, have great potential in developing ecoprint crafts as a creative and sustainable business. However, limited knowledge and technical skills are the main obstacles in developing these products. The objective of this activity is to improve the understanding, skills, and environmental awareness of PKK members through training in making ecoprint tote bags using the pounding technique. The methods used include preparation, socialization, demonstration, hands-on practice, and pretest and posttest-based evaluation. The results of the activity showed an average increase in participant scores of 36.88 points, reflecting a significant increase in understanding and skills. The evaluation also showed that 100% of participants felt the training provided new insights, and the majority were interested in developing ecoprint as a creative product. This activity not only has a positive impact on strengthening women's capacity but also supports the principles of environmental conservation and household-based business opportunities

Abstract

Baratajaya Sub-district in Surabaya has a high potential of MSMEs, especially in culinary fields such as food stalls, catering, and beverage businesses. However, observations showed that most MSME actors did not have a Business Identification Number (NIB) due to a lack of understanding of its importance and the registration procedure. This community service activity aimed to assist MSMEs in obtaining NIB through the OSS system to ensure their business legality. The partners in this program were Baratajaya Sub-district officials, RW 03, and Kader Surabaya Hebat. The methods included observation, socialization about business legality, practical training on NIB registration, and evaluation through participant questionnaires. The results showed an increase in MSME actors’ knowledge and awareness regarding the importance of NIB, as well as their successful registration with the assistance of university students. Most participants expressed satisfaction with the material delivery and practical sessions, which were easy to understand. This activity proved beneficial in supporting MSME business continuity legally and increasing their confidence in running their businesses. The significance of this program is that it becomes an initial step in optimizing MSME legality, which impacts the strengthening of the local economy based on official licensing.
