Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman membaca teks biografi di kalangan siswa SMK, yang menjadi persoalan literasi yang signifikan di era digital. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengevaluasi pengaruh asesmen berbasis TIK menggunakan platform Quizizz terhadap pemahaman membaca teks biografi siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen semu (pretest-posttest control group design). Sampel penelitian berjumlah 60 siswa SMK, dengan instrumen berupa soal pilihan ganda untuk mengukur pemahaman membaca. Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan uji-t independen untuk menguji hipotesis. Hasil uji-t independen menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol, yaitu t(58) = 6,88, p = 0,000. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa penerapan asesmen berbasis TIK secara signifikan meningkatkan pemahaman membaca teks biografi siswa. Kesimpulannya, penggunaan asesmen berbasis TIK efektif meningkatkan pemahaman membaca teks biografi siswa SMK. Hasil penelitian ini juga menegaskan relevansi literasi digital dan strategi pembelajaran abad ke-21 dalam mendukung peningkatan kompetensi literasi siswa SMK. Secara keseluruhan, penelitian ini memberikan bukti empiris penting bahwa integrasi teknologi dalam asesmen dapat meningkatkan kemampuan literasi siswa di SMK.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) learning model in the context of culturally responsive learning. TGT is a game-based learning strategy that is considered capable of accommodating the cultural diversity of students and increasing their active role in the learning process. Through literature studies, data were collected from various scientific articles discussing the implementation of TGT with adaptation to local culture. The analysis was carried out using a descriptive and interpretive approach to describe how the implementation of TGT can create fun, interactive, and meaningful learning. The results of the study showed that TGT was effective in increasing active participation of students, building self-confidence, and making learning experiences more relevant to their cultural background. However, studies related to the meaningfulness of learning activities in a cultural context are still limited, so further research is needed to explore this aspect in more depth.

Abstract

Achieving quality education is a fundamental goal for schools in providing educational services. Private schools, with their various limitations, face more complex challenges compared to public schools. Multiple strategies are required to improve the quality of education in private institutions. This study employs a qualitative method using a case study approach to uncover phenomena within the school environment. Interviews, observations, and documentation were used as data collection techniques. The results of the study indicate that school principals implement various strategies to enhance educational quality. These include competency development, providing motivation, and optimizing teachers' roles in various educational programs. Additionally, giving rewards to teachers to improve their performance is one of the efforts made to enhance educational quality.

Abstract

Earthquakes are one of the natural disasters that often occur, and procedures for understanding self-safety in early childhood at RA Al Wildan Gondanglegi require real elaboration. One of the innovations in learning with the theme of natural disasters on the topic of earthquakes is an animated video on earthquake self-safety. The research method is research and development with the ADDIE approach. The ADDIE approach includes five stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. After the data is collected, the data analysis is carried out with the stages of data analysis, development, and product quality. Other data analysis is the analysis of student responses. The research was tested on a small scale, namely on 6 students as a pilot project, and the next experiment on 15 children. Based on the results of research conducted on animated video media on the results of children's observation responses with a score of 0.93. The teacher's response was 3.56, with categorized a feasible. So it can be concluded that the development product of earthquake self-safety animated video media is feasible for use in the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the representation of power and ideology in online political news texts related to the 2024 General Election in Indonesia. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and the Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) model proposed by Norman Fairclough, this research analyzes news articles from several widely accessed national online media outlets. The main focus of the study lies in identifying linguistic strategies employed by the media to construct political narratives and ideological tendencies within the texts. The findings show that the media utilize various discursive strategies, such as framing, word choice, and specific syntactic structures, to shape positive or negative representations of political figures and parties. These results indicate that news texts are not neutral but function as instruments for reproducing power and ideology that influence public perception. This research is expected to contribute to the development of critical media literacy among readers and enrich the field of critical linguistics, particularly in the context of education and political communication.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal how gender equality is represented in online media through the Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) approach based on Fairclough’s model. The main focus of this research is to analyze how media discourse construction can either reinforce or deconstruct gender stereotypes toward women. The research data consist of online news texts taken from major Indonesian news portals between 2023 and 2024, specifically news related to women in political, economic, and social contexts. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method using three dimensions of analysis: textual, discursive practice, and social practice. The findings reveal that the media tend to portray women ambivalently on one hand, as empowered agents in public spheres, yet on the other, still frequently depicted as victims or passive objects, particularly in news related to violence. These findings indicate that media representation is not entirely neutral on gender issues. Therefore, critical awareness in media language use is essential to promote gender equality more fairly and proportionally.

Abstract

The phenomenon of radicalism among students is a serious challenge in the context of Indonesian national education. This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in forming moderate, tolerant, and nationalist characters in students as an effort to prevent radicalism. The method used is descriptive qualitative with case studies in several high schools in Bengkulu City, through observation, in-depth interviews with PAI teachers, and analysis of learning documentation. The results of the study indicate that PAI plays a strategic role in instilling the values of religious moderation through dialogical, contextual, and humanistic learning. PAI teachers actively integrate the values of tolerance, anti-violence, and national spirit in the learning process, and support religious activities that strengthen social solidarity and respect for diversity. Although there are obstacles such as a textual learning approach and lack of teacher training on the issue of radicalism, in general PAI is able to form students' ideological resilience against the infiltration of radicalism. This study recommends strengthening the curriculum of religious moderation, improving teacher competence, and collaboration between schools, families, and communities as effective strategies for preventing radicalism in the educational environment.

Abstract

The study entitled Implementation of Project Based Learning (PjBL) Model in Presenting Persuasive Text in Written Material in Class VIII MTs Pancasila Bengkulu City aims to describe the implementation of the PjBL model applied by teachers in accordance with the RPP. The subjects of this study were Indonesian language teachers in class VIII at MTs Pancasila Bengkulu City. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews and observations. The results of the study showed that the implementation of project-based learning had run according to the stages. The stages of determining basic questions, designing product planning, arranging project schedules, and testing project results were carried out well. However, the stage of monitoring project development has not run optimally. Knowledge evaluation also still needs to be improved. The inhibiting factor in the implementation of this model is the limited school facilities. However, the enthusiasm of students is quite high, so that the implementation of the PjBL model continues to run effectively. In conclusion, the implementation of the Project Based Learning model in learning persuasive text in class VIII MTs Pancasila has run well according to the stages of the model and the learning plan that has been designed by the teacher.

Abstract

This study discusses the inner conflict of the main character in the novel Rumah Untuk Alie by Lenn Liu. The purpose of this study is to describe the form of inner conflict experienced by the main character, and to analyze the factors that cause the emergence of the conflict based on the theory of basic human needs. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with a literature study technique. The data sources in this study are quotations in the novel that describe the mental condition of the main character, while the data is analyzed based on the theory of inner conflict from Muis and Abraham Maslow's hierarchy of needs. The results of the study show that the character Alie experiences various forms of inner conflict that are manifested in the emotions of depression, anxiety, anger, and frustration. These conflicts are rooted in the unfulfilled basic needs in her life, especially the need for security, belonging and love, and the need for self-esteem. The mistreatment of her father and four siblings after the death of her mother was the main factor that triggered the destruction of Alie's psychological condition. This pressure caused Alie to lose her emotional shelter, feel alienated in the midst of her own family, and question the value of her existence in the world. This research is expected to provide a deeper understanding of how the inner dynamics of a character in a literary work represent human psychological reality, while enriching the study of literary psychology.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PJBL) model through the snakes and ladders game media in learning to write personal letters to class VII students of SMP Plus Ja-alhaq, Bengkulu City. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The subjects of the study were teachers and class VII students. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the PJBL model through the snakes and ladders game media can increase students' motivation, activeness, and writing skills. The snakes and ladders media that are designed interactively and attractively make the learning process more enjoyable, foster creativity, and strengthen cooperation between students. The obstacles faced such as time constraints and student adaptation to new media can be overcome with good time management and teacher direction. In conclusion, the implementation of PJBL assisted by the snakes and ladders game media is effective in improving the ability to write personal letters to class VII students of SMP Plus Ja-alhaq, Bengkulu City.
