Abstract

Physical health and physical fitness have an important role in the world of sport, especially in the context of football clubs. The PS Sipangko football club in South Tapanuli Regency, which has a long history in the world of football, has unique challenges and opportunities in maintaining the physical health of its players. This study aims to measure and analyze the level of physical fitness of the 13 players of the PS Sipangko football club, South Tapanuli Regency and identify the factors that influence this level of fitness. The research method used was a survey and physical measurements involving club players. The data was analyzed statistically to evaluate the level of physical fitness and its relationship to performance on the field. The results showed that the level of physical fitness of players with an average physical fitness test score was 10.80 in the 14-17 interval with a percentage of 38.46%. Judging from the freshness level norms, the category is classified as Medium. These findings provide a deeper understanding of the importance of maintaining physical health in the world of football and highlight the need to pay attention to aspects of physical fitness in the development of football players.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between wrist flexion and leg muscle explosive power on the volleyball smash ability of athletes at the Kusuma Bhirawa Ponorogo club. Smash ability is the most important technique in scoring points in volleyball, and in the Kusuma Bhirawa club there are still some athletes who can be said to be still lacking in smash ability, especially in the accuracy of the smash, in that case it can be influenced by factors that can support the athlete's smash ability. Therefore, the authors conducted this study which aimed to find out whether there is a relationship between wrist flexion and leg muscle explosive power on athletes' smash ability. The sample in this study used 15 athletes taken using the Purposive Sampling method. This study uses a type of correlation research, and data collection techniques in this study are carried out using test measurement instruments, including: 1. Vertical jump test, 2. Geniometer test, and 3. Smash Accuracy Test.

Abstract

This study conducts a literature analysis on the technical approach in table tennis training with the aim of providing comprehensive insights for coaches, sports experts, and policymakers. Through searching and selecting relevant articles, we identified traditional approaches, modern approaches integrating biomechanical analysis, and relevant psychological approaches in the literature. The results of this literature review provide a deep understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of each approach as well as their practical implications in table tennis training. The integration of these approaches offers a holistic approach that can enhance the quality of table tennis training, especially in the context of Indonesian sports.

Abstract

This research aims to determine: 1) the impact of Massed Practice and Distributed Practice training methods on enhancing the accuracy of volleyball underhand passes, 2) the difference in underhand passing accuracy between students with high and low arm muscle strength, and 3) the interaction effect of training methods and arm muscle strength on the accuracy of volleyball smashes. The study employs a quantitative approach with experimental techniques and data collection through tests. The population consists of male students from class IX at SMPN 1 Pucanglaban Tulungagung, with a sample size of 30 selected through purposive random sampling. Data analysis was conducted using t-tests and ANOVA tests. The results are as follows: 1) There is a significant difference in the impact of Massed Practice and Distributed Practice training methods on improving the accuracy of volleyball underhand passes. This is evidenced by the t-test results showing a significance value of 0.011, which is less than the 0.05 threshold, leading to the acceptance of the null hypothesis (Ha). 2) There is no significant difference in underhand passing accuracy between students with high and low arm muscle strength. The t-test results indicate a significance value of 0.336, which is greater than 0.05, leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis (Ha). 3) There is a significant interaction effect between training methods and arm muscle strength on the accuracy of volleyball smashes. The calculation results yield a significance value of 0.006, which is less than 0.05, indicating the acceptance of the null hypothesis (Ha).

Abstract

This study aims to explore the influence of a programmed physical training program on enhancing the performance of table tennis athletes at the local table tennis club level. The study utilizes a quantitative research approach with a case study design. Research participants consist of 30 table tennis athletes from one local table tennis club. Data were collected through physical tests covering measurements of muscle strength, agility, and cardiovascular endurance, as well as direct observation of athlete performance during table tennis training sessions. The results of the study indicate a significant improvement in muscle strength, agility, and cardiovascular endurance of athletes after participating in the programmed physical training program. Regression analysis also confirms a positive relationship between the level of participation in the programmed physical training program and athlete performance improvement. The practical implications of this research are that local table tennis clubs can utilize programmed physical training programs as a strategy to enhance their athletes' performance. However, this study has limitations that need to be considered, including the limited generalizability of the results due to being conducted in only one local table tennis club. Therefore, further research with larger samples and diversification of table tennis clubs is needed to confirm these findings more broadly.

Abstract

Background: Bodybuilding athletes in Capricorn district of Limpopo province adhere to various hydration practices. However, the extend at which these athletes adhere to the fluid intake and hydration guidelines during sport engagement is unknown. Research objectives: This study aimed to determine the fluid intake and hydration practices of bodybuilders in Capricorn District of Limpopo province and adherence to the guidelines thereof. Furthermore, to investigate the association of fluid intake with the demography of athletes. Methods: A quantitative descriptive study was used to obtain 66 part-time bodybuilders in the Capricorn district. Demographic information and hydration practices of the athletes were collected during training days. Descriptive statistics were used to summarize the athletes' fluid intake and hydration practices. Pearson's correlation test was used to associate hydration practices with the athletes' educational status and source of hydration information. Athletes were 24 (± 4.2) years old, engaged as bodybuilders for 2.3 (± 1.5) years, training once a day (61%), for 2.2 hours (males) and 2.0 hours (females). Athletes used pure water before (51%), during (47%) and after training (57%). Social media (47%) and the internet (25%) were used as sources of hydration information. There was no significant correlation between hydration practices and demographics. Conclusion: Fluid intake of athletes was suboptimal. Athletes consumed mostly pure water before, during, and after their training sessions. Therefore, athletes’ fluid intake (amount) and hydration strategies (type and timing of fluid) did not adhere (mostly suboptimal to) sports nutrition standards. This poses a risk for dehydration during sport.

Abstract

Purpose – This research aims to provide variation of training and improve the results of smash badminton training especially smash accuracy. Design/methodology/approach – This research is research and development using the Borg and Gall model. The research site is at PB Jaya Raya Metland Jakarta with test models and test instruments in several clubs in the city and Bekasi district. Findings – There are three types of training models developed: footwork and shadow smash, plyometric and drill training models, and game patterns and situation models using Denatara BISA (Badminton Integrated Smash Accuracy) Smash Training Model.Research limitations/implications – The focus of this research is on the urgency of occurring minimal variation of the smash training model for athletes U-13 (age 11-12 years) and U-15 (age 13-14 years) according to the division of age groups listed in the PP PBSI regulations.Practical implications – With implications on the variable training model combined with technology-based test instruments can drive athletes in smash practice and can improve the results of smash training especially its accuracy.Originality/value – This research is relevant to the National Research Master Plan (RIRIN) related to the application of technological innovation especially in the field of education and sports.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to examine in depth the effect of plyometric training programs on improving vertical jumping ability in volleyball players. Design/methodology/approach – The research approach used in this study is a quantitative approach This type of research is a quasi-experimental, This research method involves a pre-test and post-test design with a control group. The population in this study is all high school level volleyball athletes in Bekasi city. Sample of 30 students. The data collection techniques used include vertical jump ability The data analysis techniques used are descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. Findings – This study proves that a plyometric training program significantly improves vertical jumping ability in high school level volleyball athletes in Bekasi city. The experimental group who underwent plyometric training showed a significantly greater increase in vertical jump height compared to the control group who underwent conventional training. These findings support the theories of muscle adaptation and the stretch-approach cycle, and are consistent with previous research showing the effectiveness of plyometric training in improving athletic performance. Limitasi/Novelty- Although this study has limitations, such as the small sample size and short duration of the intervention, the results provide strong empirical evidence that plyometric exercises can be an important component in volleyball training programs to optimize vertical jump performance.

Abstract

In the sport of karate there are punching movements that center on muscle strength in athletes. To get the maximum blow, proper training is needed on the muscles, the imposition of muscles for this blow movement on the biceps and triceps brachii muscles. There are innovative tools that can be used for alternative training for karateka athletes, namely the push up board tool that has been developed according to the needs of karate athletes. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the attractiveness, safety and feasibility of push up board aids to help karate athletes train the biceps and triceps bracii muscles as an alternative to karate athletes' punch training. This research uses descriptive Quantitative research methods. The data collection technique used in this quantitative research is by direct observation and distributing questionnaires. The results obtained in this study are a percentage of 51.4% based on trials on respondents and declared “Worthy”.

Abstract

This study examined the Bahir Dar University Sports Academy's techniques and environment that help young children play sports. The researchers conducted focus group talks with trainees and one-on-one interviews with many coaches and senior officials to attain this goal. Bahir Dar University's sports academy directors, trainers, and trainees were research participants on purpose. The investigation included a qualitative case study and data theme analysis. The study found that most survey respondents believed students' training experiences and time and effort allocation were crucial to talent development. Best practices show that most sports trainings are well-managed in terms of time and schedules, equipment, training resources, and well-equipped locations, and many have solid relationships with instructors-coaches. Training issues include a lack of transportation to and from the training center, a lack of timely supervision and support, especially for sports, practical skill training without theoretical and psychological academic sciences, and playing a few friendly matches with more advanced clubs. Participants strongly advocated for some coaches to work with players regularly, for training to be well-balanced and supported by academic sciences, psychological training, and other critical factors, for transportation, dietary guidelines, and sporting equipment and materials, and for friendly matches with similar-aged players.
