Abstract

Inadequate sports facilities frequently become a major obstacle in the implementation of Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) learning at the elementary school level. This study aimed to explore the relationship between sports facilities and students’ learning motivation, as well as examine the role of teacher creativity in modifying sports equipment in elementary schools in Cimalaka District. This study employed a qualitative case study design involving three elementary schools, namely SDN Mandalaherang III, SDN Licin, and SDN Cibeureum 2. Participants consisted of three PJOK teachers, school principals, and eight students selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, documentation, and student response questionnaires. The qualitative data were analyzed using thematic coding procedures assisted by NVivo software. The findings revealed three major themes: limitations of sports facilities, students’ learning motivation, and teacher strategies through equipment modification. Limited facilities reduced students’ enthusiasm and participation in physical education activities. However, teachers’ creativity in modifying sports equipment, such as sponge balls and PVC goalposts, created a safer, more engaging, and non-monotonous learning environment that enhanced students’ intrinsic motivation and active participation. The study concludes that equipment modification serves not only as a technical solution but also as a psychological intervention that supports students’ motivation despite limited school facilities.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of structured water play on improving courage in children with ADHD during swimming instruction. The study employed a Single Subject Research (SSR) design with an A1–B–A2 withdrawal model. The participant was a six-year-old boy diagnosed with ADHD, selected using a case study approach. The intervention was conducted over 12 sessions consisting of baseline (A1), intervention (B), and follow-up (A2) phases. Data were collected through systematic observation of courage-related behaviors and pre-test and post-test questionnaires measuring aquatic fear levels. The instruments included an observation sheet adapted from SNAP-IV, Conners, and ADHD RS-5, as well as a fear-level questionnaire. Data were analyzed using SSR visual analysis techniques, including trend direction, level changes, stability, and Percentage of Non-Overlapping Data (PND). The findings demonstrated a consistent increase in courage during the intervention phase, which was maintained during the follow-up phase. In the shallow pool condition, the PND value reached 66%, indicating a moderate effect, while in the deep pool condition the PND value reached 100%, indicating a strong effect. Questionnaire results also showed a reduction in aquatic fear. These findings indicate that structured water play is an effective adaptive pedagogical strategy for enhancing courage and emotional readiness in children with ADHD during swimming instruction and supports the implementation of inclusive physical education practices.

Abstract

Passing is one of the fundamental techniques in soccer that greatly influences team play effectiveness and ball possession. However, the passing accuracy of youth soccer players still requires improvement through effective and varied training methods. This study aimed to determine the effect of varied wall pass training on improving inside-foot passing accuracy among players of SSB Cikedondong. The study employed a quantitative experimental method using a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample consisted of 15 players selected through purposive sampling. The treatment program was conducted over 12 training sessions. The research instrument used an inside-foot passing accuracy test adapted from Nurhasan (2001). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality tests, and paired sample t-tests with IBM SPSS Statistics. The results showed that the average pretest score increased from 3.07 to 5.80 in the posttest. Hypothesis testing indicated a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, meaning that varied wall pass training had a significant effect on improving inside-foot passing accuracy. This study highlights that varied and repetitive wall pass training can effectively improve coordination, ball control, and passing precision among youth soccer players.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the potential development of flying fox sport tourism in Sangiang Bedil, Darmaraja District, Sumedang Regency, using the Marketability, Sustainability, Participatory, and Disaster Mitigation (MSP+DM) approach. A descriptive qualitative method was employed through observation, interviews, and documentation involving tourism managers, flying fox operators, and visitors as research informants. Data were analyzed using thematic coding techniques supported by data triangulation to ensure validity and reliability. The findings indicate that the marketability aspect is strengthened by digital promotion through social media platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, supported by natural hill landscapes and adventure-based tourism experiences. In terms of sustainability, the attraction contributes positively to the local economy by creating employment opportunities and supporting small businesses, although environmental pressure and economic dependency on tourism remain challenges. Community participation is reflected in operational involvement, environmental maintenance, and tourism-supporting businesses; however, participation in strategic decision-making is still limited. Regarding disaster mitigation, safety measures such as routine equipment inspections, safety briefings, temporary operational closure during bad weather, and first-aid facilities have been implemented, although more structured standard operating procedures and emergency response training are still required. Overall, flying fox tourism in Sangiang Bedil has strong potential to become a competitive nature-based sport tourism destination through improved promotion, community involvement, environmental management, and risk mitigation systems.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the relationship between parental social restriction and adolescent social development at SMPN 2 Cisitu. The study employed a quantitative correlational design supported by interview data to strengthen the interpretation of statistical findings. The participants consisted of 30 junior high school students from grades VII, VIII, and IX, along with three homeroom teachers and three parents as supporting informants. Data were collected using questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. Statistical analysis included descriptive statistics, normality testing, Spearman correlation, and simple linear regression. The findings showed that parental social restriction had a positive but non-significant relationship with adolescent social development. The Spearman correlation coefficient indicated a low positive relationship that was not statistically significant. Interview findings revealed that parents generally implemented social restrictions through supervision of peer relationships, playtime regulation, and guidance in selecting friends. Teachers and parents perceived these restrictions as beneficial for monitoring adolescents’ social behavior; however, excessive restriction was also considered capable of reducing adolescents’ confidence and social independence. The study highlights that balanced parental supervision combined with communication and emotional support may contribute more effectively to adolescents’ social adjustment and interaction.

Abstract

The development of digital technology in the world of sports (sports science) demands objectivity in measuring athlete performance, including in the martial art of Pencak Silat. To date, evaluation of kick speed and power is often carried out conventionally or subjectively through coach observations, resulting in a lack of accurate athlete development data. This study aims to design and build an Internet of Things (IoT)-based kick training and testing system capable of measuring performance parameters in real time and accurately. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) development model. The developed hardware consists of a force sensor and an accelerometer integrated with an ESP32 microcontroller as the system's brain. Data captured by the sensor when the athlete kicks is sent wirelessly via a WiFi network to a cloud-based database. The information is then displayed in graphical and numerical form through a web dashboard application, including impact force variables (in Newtons) and reaction speed (in milliseconds). Test results show that this tool has a high level of precision with minimal error compared to standard measuring instruments. The implementation of IoT technology allows coaches to remotely monitor athletes' training progress and digitally track their performance. In conclusion, this IoT-based training and kick testing tool is effective as an objective evaluation tool, helping to improve training quality and supporting the digitalization of the Pencak Silat training system towards international achievement.
