Abstract

This study evaluates the tourism marketing strategies of the Mentawai Islands government and examines key factors influencing its development. With rich cultural rituals, breathtaking landscapes, and world-class waves, the Mentawai Islands hold significant tourism potential that requires strategic management. Using qualitative methods and SWOT analysis, the research identifies exceptional waves as a strength, increasing tourist arrivals as an opportunity, low community awareness as a weakness, and inadequate service standards as a threat. To address these issues, the study suggests developing a comprehensive marketing strategy, establishing clear government regulations, enhancing public facilities and tourism personnel quality, and optimizing the region's resources to support sustainable growth.

Abstract

The objectives of this study are to examine the functions and roles of the Vocational Training Institute in Keerom Regency, Papua Province, as well as the challenges and specific constraints it faces. This exploratory research uses a qualitative descriptive method and includes insights from three key informants. Findings reveal that labor institutions play a crucial role in determining workforce quality and professionalism. To support this, adequate facilities and infrastructure are essential to train skilled workers in alignment with labor market demands, reducing employer challenges. Despite a high labor supply, many workers lack the skills needed for available jobs, contributing to regional unemployment. The study also identifies both internal and external barriers requiring focused attention from the Keerom Regency Government. Future research should investigate training program quality using a quantitative approach.

Abstract

Publication is a key obligation for lecturers, and while Indonesian lecturers have led ASEAN in publication volume, there was a decline in Scopus-indexed publications in 2022. This decline is attributed to personality factors and organizational commitment. The study, using an explanatory research approach, investigates how personality influences publication performance and the role of organizational commitment. It involves lecturers from L2Dikti Region XII, with data collected through questionnaires, interviews, and observations, analyzed using moderation regression. The results show that traits like openness and conscientiousness enhance publication performance, while organizational commitment does not significantly impact or mediate this relationship. However, the study's small sample size limits its generalizability, suggesting future research should involve larger samples, more institutions, and explore additional factors like intrinsic motivation and institutional support.

Abstract

This study examines a sustainable tourism marketing strategy for Kupang City, NTT, which faces low tourist arrivals despite its significant potential. Using a qualitative approach, including in-depth interviews with 10 key informants and field observations, three main challenges were identified: suboptimal use of digital technology, limited local community involvement, and insufficient competence among tourism marketing human resources. The study proposes several recommendations, including an integrated digital marketing strategy, community empowerment programs, improved HR competencies, the development of a monitoring and evaluation system, and enhanced stakeholder collaboration. This research offers both theoretical and practical insights into sustainable tourism marketing strategies for small towns in developing countries, with important implications for policymakers and tourism industry stakeholders in Kupang City.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of tax knowledge, tax understanding, tax penalties, and perceived benefits on the tax compliance of MSME taxpayers. The research was conducted among MSMEs in Kupang City, involving 95 respondents who were selected through purposive samplingThe data were analyzed using instrument tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, and hypothesis testing. The application used to address these issues was the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 25. The results showed that all independent variables had a significant positive influence on auditor performance. Task complexity moderated the effect of experience on auditor performance but did not moderate the effect of other variables. The study results reveal a positive influence of tax knowledge, tax understanding, tax penalties, and perceived benefits on the tax compliance of MSMEs in reporting their annual tax returns at KPP Pratama Kupang, both partially and simultaneously.

This study is a descriptive quantitative research. The data in this study were obtained from secondary data of annual financial reports of manufacturing companies for the period of 2019-2023. The population in this study consists of 173 manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2019-2023. The sample in this research consists of companies selected based on certain criteria. The data analysis techniques used are descriptive statistics and logistic regression analysis, using SPSS 25 software. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Web Design and Price variables on Purchase Intention on the Shopee e-commerce platform in Kupang City using a multiple linear regression model. The analysis results indicate that the regression model meets the requirements, showing an initial Purchase Intention value before considering the independent variables. The regression coefficients demonstrate that improvements in Web Design and Price positively impact Purchase Intention. The F-test confirms that both variables significantly influence Purchase Intention, with the calculated values exceeding the required thresholds. The t-test further reveals that both Web Design and Price have a significant individual impact. The coefficient of determination indicates that the model explains a considerable portion of the variability in Purchase Intention, although a substantial portion remains unexplained, suggesting the potential influence of other factors beyond the scope of this study.

Abstract

Frequent traffic congestion at Mardika Market in Ambon City is primarily caused by the disorganized activities of street vendors (PKL), which has become a significant concern for the government. This study aims to evaluate the policy implementation process for controlling street vendors by the Ambon City Civil Service Police Unit, focusing on four key indicators: communication, resources, implementers' attitudes, and bureaucratic structure. Using a descriptive approach, data were collected through interviews and observations. The findings indicate that while the policy has been implemented in terms of communication efforts with vendors, available resources—such as personnel—remain insufficient, although other resources are adequate. The attitudes of implementers were largely supportive, with 97% in favor and 3% not supportive. The bureaucratic structure, governed by Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), has been less effective due to conflicts over the timing of enforcement. As a result, the implementation has not been fully effective, as traffic jams persist due to vendors occupying the streets.
