Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of an integrated curriculum between the national curriculum and the pesantren curriculum in vocational high schools (SMK) based on Islamic boarding schools through a literature review approach. This study is important considering the need for an educational model that can balance vocational competencies with the development of religious character in the context of modern workforce demands. The method used is a literature review by examining various scientific journals and relevant research findings related to curriculum integration and character education. Data were collected through documentation study and analyzed using descriptive analysis with a synthesis approach to compare and interpret previous research findings. The results indicate that the implementation of an integrated curriculum has a positive impact on improving students’ competencies and character development. Students tend to demonstrate better academic abilities, enhanced vocational skills, and strong religious values through the integration of learning processes, supported by a boarding school system that emphasizes discipline, worship practices, and social interaction. However, several challenges such as high academic workload, scheduling conflicts, and limited teacher competence still affect the effectiveness of implementation. Therefore, integrated curriculum implementation is an important strategy in improving the quality of education, but it requires comprehensive management, collaboration, and continuous development to achieve optimal outcomes.

Abstract

Forest sustainability in Indonesia faces significant challenges, including deforestation, forest degradation, and tenure conflicts. Although social forestry has been promoted as a policy instrument to balance ecological protection and community welfare, its implementation remain largely dominated by an anthropocentric paradigm that treats forest primarily as economic resources. As a result, sustainability is often interpreted narrowly and fails to adequately address broader ecological and social concerns. Moreover, studies examining social forestry through an ecocentric ethical perspective remain limited, indicating a conceptual gap in developing more holistic forest management models.This Study aims to reconstruct the concept of sustainability in social forestry based on an ecocentric ethical perspective and to explore its policy implications. A narrative literature review with a conceptual approach was employed, analyzing relevant publications form 2015 to 2025. The finding reinforce the core argument: achieving sustainability in social forestry requires an ecocentric shift that recognizes forests’ intrinsic value. This new framework integrates ecological and cultural capacity indicators, incorporates intrinsic value in licensing, and strengthens participatory governance with ecological justice. This study contributes a novel conceptual framework that is both integrative and operational for advancing more equitable, adaptive, and sustainable social forestry practices.

Abstract

Students' interest in learning science subjects has an important role in supporting learning success, but conditions in class IV of SDN 1 Pringga Jurang show that students' interest in learning is still low, which can be seen from the lack of attention, involvement, and enthusiasm of students during the learning process which is still dominated by conventional methods. This study aims to determine the effect of the use of Kahoot media on students' interest in learning science subjects in grade IV of SDN 1 Pringga Jurang. This study uses a quantitative approach with a Quasi Experimental Design research type in the form of One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The subjects of the study were all 24 students of grade IV of SDN 1 Pringga Jurang. Data collection techniques in this study include questionnaires and observations. Data analysis was carried out through prerequisite tests including normality tests and homogeneity tests, then continued with hypothesis testing using Paired Sample T-test and Effect Size calculations. The results of the normality test showed that the pre-test data had a significance value of 0.645 and the post-test data of 0.357 (Sig. > 0.05), indicating that the data were normally distributed. Meanwhile, the homogeneity test showed a significance value of 0.086 (Sig. > 0.05), indicating that the data were homogeneous. The results of hypothesis testing obtained a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.001 <0.05 and a calculated T value > T table of 21.285 > 2.064, so it can be concluded that there is an effect of the use of Kahoot media on students' interest in learning science subjects in grade IV of SDN 1 Pringga Jurang. The effect size test results obtained a d-value of 4.345, which falls into the strong effect category. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of Kahoot media has a strong influence on students' learning interest, as indicated by indicators of enjoyment, interest, attention, and engagement in learning.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the prevalence of teacher-centered lecture methods and the heavy reliance on national textbooks, alongside the limited utilization of digital media and learning resources based on local wisdom. Furthermore, the lack of variety in instructional media has led to low student learning motivation. Addressing these issues, this study aims to develop a valid and practical educational e-book based on Sasak culinary heritage for Social and Natural Sciences (IPAS subject) instruction among fourth-grade students at SDN 2 Dasan Tereng. The methodology employed is Research and Development (R&D), following the ADDIE development model. Data collection techniques included interviews, observations, and questionnaires, using instruments such as interview guides, observation sheets, and validation scales for material experts, media experts, as well as teacher and student responses. Data analysis was conducted through validity and practicality tests using a 1–4 Likert scale. The results indicate that the developed e-book meets the criteria for being "highly valid" and "highly practical." Material expert validation achieved a score of 88.9% (highly valid), while media expert validation reached 92.7% (highly valid). Practicality testing showed a student response rate of 93% in small-group trials and 90.8% in large-group trials, with a teacher response rate of 91.9%, all categorized as highly practical. Consequently, the Sasak culinary-themed e-book is a viable contextual and interactive learning medium for fourth-grade elementary school students.

Abstract

The low level of students’ critical thinking skills in physics learning remains a common problem. Conventional teacher-centered learning is considered not yet optimal in improving these skills. This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by animated videos on students’ critical thinking skills. This quantitative research employed a quasi-experimental method using a Non-equivalent Control Group Design. The study involved all 55 students of grade XI MIPA at SMAN 10 Mataram. Saturated sampling technique was applied, resulting in class XI MIPA 1 as the experimental class (30 students) and class XI MIPA 2 as the control class (25 students). The experimental class received treatment in the form of the PBL model assisted by animated videos, while the control class was taught using conventional learning methods. The research instrument consisted of an essay test measuring critical thinking skills that had been tested for validity, reliability, difficulty level, and discriminating power. Data analysis techniques included normality test, homogeneity test, t-test, and N-Gain test. The results showed that the average posttest score of the experimental class was 66.67, which was higher than the control class score of 45.06. Hypothesis testing indicated a significance value of 0.02 (p < 0.05), therefore H₀ was rejected. The N-Gain test showed that the improvement in critical thinking skills of the experimental class was categorized as moderate (g = 0.4194), while the control class was categorized as low (g = 0.2525). Thus, the animated video-assisted PBL model was proven to have a significant effect on students’ critical thinking skills, increasing the posttest score by 21.61 points higher than the control class.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the distribution patterns, density levels, and coverage of educational facilities at the senior high school, vocational high school, and Islamic high school levels in Pacitan Regency in 2024. This study is motivated by the existing disparities in access to education and the phenomenon of several subdistricts in Pacitan being incorporated into the school zoning of Wonogiri Regency. This study employs a quantitative descriptive method utilizing Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Spatial analysis was conducted using the Average Nearest Neighbor (ANN) method to identify distribution patterns, Kernel Density for density analysis (hotspots), and the Buffer method with a radius of 3,000 meters in accordance with SNI 13-1733-2004 to measure service coverage. The ANN analysis results showed a nearest neighbor ratio of 0.773 with a z-score of -3.60, indicating that the distribution pattern of educational facilities tends to be clustered. The Kernel Density analysis revealed the highest concentration of schools in the districts of Pacitan, Tulakan, and Tegalombo, while outlying areas such as Donorojo have low density. Buffer analysis indicates that the coverage of public high schools (SMA, SMK, MA) currently covers only 44% of residential areas; however, when combined with private schools, coverage increases to 68%. There is an imbalance in the distribution of secondary education facilities in Pacitan Regency, which are concentrated in the central and southern areas. Although private schools greatly help expand access, the local government still needs to improve the equitable distribution of educational services in remote and border areas.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the extent of perceptions and challenges faced in the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in physics learning. This research activity was conducted at MA Plus Nurul Islam Sekarbela using a mixed method by integrating qualitative and quantitative data. This study sample used a saturated sampling technique with all science students in grades 10, 11, and 12 of MA Plus Nurul Islam Sekarbela. The research data was obtained through three stages: administering a questionnaire, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. The data obtained were then analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the use of AI in physics learning has provided a positive response from students. This use has become one of the independent learning resources that students can use during class while still paying attention to the limitations set by the teacher. In addition, challenges were found in the implementation process, namely related to the purpose of using AI and the still limited ability of students to evaluate the results of answers or information obtained through AI

Abstract

Students’ critical thinking skills remain relatively low, particularly in physics learning, due to instructional processes that have not fully encouraged active student engagement. This study aimed to analyze the improvement of students’ critical thinking skills through the implementation of the Learning Cycle 7E model supported by PhET simulations. The research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental nonequivalent control group design involving 31 students in the experimental class and 29 students in the control class. Data were collected using a critical thinking skills test and analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics 31 through N-Gain, normality, homogeneity, Mann-Whitney, and effect size tests. The results showed that the experimental class obtained an N-Gain score of 0.71 in the high category, while the control class obtained 0.56 in the moderate category. The hypothesis test produced a significance value of < 0.001, indicating a significant difference between the two groups. In addition, the effect size value of 1.28 was categorized as high, indicating a strong effect of the treatment. These findings indicate that the Learning Cycle 7E model supported by PhET simulations is effective in improving students’ critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital melahirkan generasi yang responsif terhadap pembelajaran visual, interaktif, dan menantang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran Game-Based Learning (GBL) sebagai paradigma transformatif dalam menyusun literasi akademik generasi digital dan strategi integrasinya ke dalam sistem pembelajaran formal di Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi pustaka (library research) dengan pendekatan deskriptif-kualitatif dan analisis komparatif terhadap literatur terkini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa GBL, dengan elemen tantangan bertingkat, interaktivitas, umpan balik instan, serta keseimbangan kompetisi dan kolaborasi, tidak hanya berperan sebagai alat bantu, tetapi sebagai kerangka konseptual yang merekonstruksi proses pembelajaran. GBL efektif membangun literasi akademik yang holistik dengan mengintegrasikan aspek kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotorik secara simultan, sekaligus menumbuhkan keterampilan abad ke-21. Integrasi GBL ke dalam kurikulum formal menawarkan peluang besar untuk meningkatkan motivasi, daya ingat, dan keterlibatan aktif siswa. Namun, implementasinya menghadapi tantangan seperti kesiapan guru, kesenjangan infrastruktur digital, dan resistensi dari paradigma pendidikan konvensional. Simpulan penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa GBL merupakan “revolusi tangga pendidikan” yang strategis. Keberhasilannya memerlukan dukungan kebijakan kurikulum, pelatihan guru yang memadai, dan inovasi pendekatan untuk menciptakan ekosistem belajar yang adaptif, menyenangkan, dan relevan dengan tuntutan era digital

Abstract

Diabetes Melitus (DM) menimbulkan gangguan pada metabolisme karbohidrat, protein, dan lemak, dicirikan dengan terjadinya hiperglikemia. Faktor yang mempengaruhi kondisi tersebut adalah usia, jenis kelamin, asupan gizi, dan aktivitas fisik terutama pada lansia yang sistem metabolisme tubuhnya mulai menurun. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara zat gizi makro dan aktivitas fisik dengan kadar gula darah sewaktu pada lansia di PSLU Mandalika. Penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode observasional analitik menggunakan rancangan penelitian crossectional. Analisis data menggunakan uji kolerasi Rank Spearman. ada hubungan positif yang signifikan antara asupan zat gizi makro dengan kadar gula darah pada lansia di PSLU Mandalika dengan p-value karbohidrat dan protein (<0.001), dan lemak (0.016). Aktivitas fisik tidak memiliki hubungan yang signifikan dengan kadar gula darah pada lansia di PSLU Mandalika, karena p-value sebesar 0.076. Pentingnya perencanaan diet yang tepat dan memperhatikan asupan nutrisi yang seimbang, termasuk karbohidrat, protein, dan lemak, sangat penting dalam menjaga kesehatan lansia.
