Abstract

The development of stamped batik based on local wisdom is a strategic effort to preserve culture and enhance the competitiveness of Indonesia’s batik industry. The partners in this program faced two main challenges: limited tools and materials for production and restricted marketing reach. This community service program aims to improve the efficiency of stamped batik production by providing the necessary equipment, such as batik stamp tools, while enhancing marketing efforts through digital marketing training. The implementation methods included the procurement of production tools, socialization, and training on stamped batik techniques, as well as mentoring to ensure high-quality production outcomes. On the marketing aspect, the program provided training on product photography and videography, registration on digital platforms such as Google Maps, Google Business, Instagram, and Shopee, as well as training on e-commerce utilization. The program results demonstrated increased production capacity with the addition of tools and materials, and expanded marketing reach through partner registration on various digital platforms. This program not only supports the sustainability of stamped batik culture based on local wisdom but also strengthens the competitiveness of the partners in a broader market.

Abstract

The community service program under the Regional Empowerment (PW) scheme aims to enhance economic capacity and community welfare through local product innovation based on appropriate technology (AT). Doplang Village in Semarang Regency has significant potential in cultivating tuberose, which is integrated into micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with the support of AT. This innovation distinguishes local MSME products from existing market offerings through the application of technologies such as Solar Cell Battery Storage Systems, packaging tools, social media branding, and formulations for products like soap and hand sanitizer. The program was implemented through workshops, training sessions, and intensive mentoring, focusing on developing skills in product development, management, and marketing. Pre-test and post-test evaluations showed a significant improvement of over 50 points in participants’ skills and knowledge, particularly in management and product innovation. The program resulted in six main products, including baby oil, perfume, hand sanitizer, and laundry soap, contributing to local economic growth and supporting sustainable tourism through diversification of tuberose-based products and the application of renewable energy.

Abstract

Sumberarum Village, Magelang Regency, holds great tourism potential with its natural hot springs, which remain underutilized. The main challenges include the lack of integrated digital information and limited digital marketing skills among the local community. This community service initiative aims to develop sustainable tourism potential through the creation of a village website and the evaluation of hot spring water quality. The approach includes developing a village website at desasumberarum.id as a centralized tourism information hub and measuring water quality parameters at four hot spring locations: Umbul Banyu Roso, Tirta Madu Barokah, Tirta Sambara, and Azzira Tirta Gemilang. Results indicate that the village website significantly improves information accessibility and supports digital tourism promotion. Additionally, water quality tests reveal that all parameters, including pH and alkalinity, fall within safe thresholds, suggesting potential health benefits of the hot spring water for visitors.

Abstract

Hypertension is a major health problem that requires continuous management, especially in areas with limited access to health services, such as Sungai Rangas Ulu Village. Limited public knowledge and a lack of health cadre skills in monitoring blood pressure are challenges in hypertension control. This community service activity aims to optimize the role of cadres in preventing hypertension. The training involved five cadres from toddler integrated health posts (posyandu) and five cadres from elderly integrated health posts (posyandu), with methods that included theoretical delivery on hypertension and its risk factors, as well as practical use of sphygmomanometers. The training results showed that 89% of cadres experienced a significant increase in knowledge and skills. Overall, this program successfully increased cadre capacity in blood pressure monitoring and health education, which is expected to contribute to more effective hypertension control in Sungai Rangas Ulu Village. Continued mentoring is needed to ensure program sustainability and long-term positive impact.

Abstract

The Tanjung Asri Women Farmers Group (KWT) has great potential to develop businesses based on local resources, particularly lemongrass. Lemongrass, which offers numerous benefits, especially in the form of lemongrass oil, presents a promising business opportunity. However, the KWT members' lack of knowledge regarding lemongrass oil processing and business management poses a challenge. This community service activity aims to improve the knowledge and skills of KWT members in processing lemongrass into lemongrass oil and marketing the product through e-commerce. Through counseling, training, and demonstrations, KWT members were given an understanding of the benefits of lemongrass, lemongrass oil processing techniques, and online marketing strategies. The results of this activity indicate a significant increase in KWT members' knowledge about the added value of lemongrass and the business potential of lemongrass oil. In addition, KWT members also gained a better understanding of digital-based business management. Thus, this community service activity is expected to encourage the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises based on local resources in KWT Tanjung Asri.

Abstract

The Tirta Jatisari Water Supply and Sanitation Management Group (KP-SPAMS) faced challenges ensuring transparency in water usage and efficiency in billing due to the limitations of conventional water meters. These meters lacked real-time monitoring capabilities, hindering leak detection and leading to billing inaccuracies. To address this, an Internet of Things (IoT)-based monitoring system integrated with a web application was implemented to improve transparency and operational efficiency. The methodology involved needs analysis and system design, IoT device development, installation of flow meter sensors, development of a user-friendly web application for both KP-SPAMS managers and consumers, and comprehensive system training and socialization. Results demonstrated improved billing accuracy and speed, along with real-time water usage monitoring for both KP-SPAMS and consumers, facilitating timely leak detection. The implementation successfully increased consumer satisfaction and fostered the development of technologically adept human resources.

Abstract

A green economy in rural areas requires effective and sustainable waste management strategies to reduce environmental impact and improve community welfare. The Dahlia Waste Bank in Ngargogondo Village, Magelang Regency, faces challenges in enhancing management quality and productivity, particularly in organic waste processing. This community service program aims to strengthen the management of the Dahlia Waste Bank through training in processing organic waste into economically valuable compost, education on waste management based on the 4R principles (refuse, reduce, reuse, recycle), and the introduction of innovative waste processing technologies. This program employs a community empowerment approach to increase awareness, responsibility, and active participation in waste management. The program outcomes show a significant increase in the amount of waste processed into compost and improved waste bank management quality. Additionally, it has successfully expanded the community's understanding of the importance of waste management as part of the green economy, resulting in reduced environmental damage risks and enhanced local welfare.
