Abstract

The debate about whether investment managers have better stock-picking skills than the market has been going on for a long time. Many cross-country studies have shown that professional investment managers cannot produce better portfolio performance than randomly selected investors. This empirical fact is counterproductive considering that investment managers are managers of public funds and indicate that their skills in selecting stocks are questionable. This poor skill can be sourced from their low valuation knowledge and skills so that stock price movements cannot be projected accurately. This training was designed to educate and train the skills of prospective millennial investors in conducting stock valuations. Participants consisted of 22 people who came from millennials, ranging from students to professional workers. The training is conducted online for a full day. Training achievement was evaluated using pre-test and post-test. The evaluation showed that the knowledge and skills of participants in conducting stock valuation increased after attending the training. In order to ensure success and maintain the continuity of the skills that have been acquired, these prospective millennial investors need to be encouraged to be actively involved as professional investors in the capital market.

Abstract

This metal forming technology dissemination activity involved three partners from micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) engaged in the metal forming industry in the village of Karangsentosa, Karangbahagia District, Bekasi Regency. The main problem faced by partners is the difficulty in designing dies for the combination of piercing and blanking processes. This difficulty resulted in the piercing and blanking processes being carried out separately, resulting in less efficient production performance and higher production costs, thus requiring a reverse engineering process for some of its products. The method used in this dissemination process was an experimental method by doing reverse engineering on one of the products produced, namely the ducting corner. The purpose of this metal forming technology dissemination is to assist partners in increasing the efficiency of the production process by combining piercing and blanking processes into one process. In this metal forming technology dissemination activity, efficiency has been carried out from nine stages of the production process to five production processes. The combination of blanking and piercing processes using 1.2 mm SPCC-SD material for the production of ducting corners requires a minimum power press machine capacity of 18.3 tons. Further dissemination will be carried out by combining the piercing, blanking and bending processes by applying the progressives dies design.

Abstract

One of the causes of people being exposed to the Covid-19 virus is the spread of the virus through the air. To prevent this, it is necessary to sterilize so that the virus in the air can be neutralized. One of the technologies that can be used to disinfect the air so that the air is free from the Covid-19 virus is Ultra Violet (UV) light. UV rays have radiation that is quite harsh, so when exposed to human skin continuously can cause damage to skin tissue. The service team developed a remote-control robot that can replace humans to carry out the disinfection process in a room by utilizing UV light. The area where congregational prayers were held at the Masjid Agung, Central Java (MAJT) visited by no less than 100 people every day. The robot was effectively able to operate well in the disinfectant process. This phase 1 prototype has a height of 48 cm and expected to be developed again so that it can reach higher places and can reduce the risk of spreading the Covid-19 virus.
