Abstract

Pelaksanaan pengabdian masyarakat ini berdasarkan permintaan dari pihak SMP Terbuka Maleo Tangerang Selatan untuk melatih guru dan siswanya. Mereka dipersiapkan agar lulusannya dapat meningkatkan daya saing masyarakat. Berdasarkan fakta tersebut, penting dilakukan pengabdian dengan cara memberikan pelatihan dasar membatik kreatif dengan empat teknik yaituwet on wet, wet on dry, teknik colet, dan teknik penggaraman untuk mengatasai masalah yang dihadapi mitra. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dalam satu hari dengan 2 sesi kegiatan. Sesi pertama, peserta diberikan materi tentang cara mengolah material biji klungsu. Peserta diberikan lembar pretest dan post-test untuk menilai adanya peningkatan alih pengetahuan peserta setelah penyampaian materi tersebut. Sesi kedua peserta melakukan praktik cara membuat batik kreatif dengan menggunakan olahan biji klungsu dan 4 teknik pewarnaan. Berdasarkan nilai pretest-post-test peserta diketahui dengan hasil pengujian Wilcoxon menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan peserta sesudah kegiatan pelatihan membuat batik kreatif.The implementation of this community service is based on a request from the Maleo South Tangerang Open Middle School to train teachers and students. They are prepared so that their graduates can increase the competitiveness of society. Based on these facts, it is important to do dedication by providing basic training in creative batik with four techniques, namely wet on wet, wet on dry, dabbing technique, and salting technique to overcome problems faced by partners. This activity is carried out in one day with 2 activity sessions. In the first session, participants were given material on how to process the Klungsu seed material. Participants are given pretest and post-test sheets to assess an increase in participants' knowledge transfer after delivering the material. In the second session the participants practiced how to make creative batik using processed klungsu seeds and 4 coloring techniques. Based on the participants' pretest-post-test scores, The Wilcoxon test results showed that there was an increase in participants' knowledge after practice how to make creative batik.

Abstract

In the era of adapting new habits after the Covid-19 pandemic, especially public transportation, it is necessary to provide health protocol counseling to kopamas drivers. This counseling is important considering the problem of the spread of Covid-19 in Bandung is still high. The purpose of this activity is to provide counseling on the application of health protocols to kopamas drivers, establish concern for others, especially the community in the campus environment; prevent the wider spread of Covid-19; and develop an attitude of concern for environmental health. This activity was carried out at the house of the chairman of RW 01 Sukagalih Village. The kopamas drivers were accompanied directly by a team of extension workers. The pocket books on health protocols, stickers, masks and basic necessities were distributed to kopamas drivers during counseling. This service generates understanding for kopamas drivers and is expected to be able to educate kopamas passengers.

Abstract

Masa pandemi COVID-19 telah mengubah tatanan pendidikan dari tatap muka menjadi virtual. Akibatnya diperlukan media yang dapat membantu para pendidik untuk dapat menyampaikan materi secara baik dan menarik kepada peserta didiknya. Dalam hal ini, pendidik di lingkungan sekolah dasar mengalami kesulitan terhadap penggunaan platform virtual karena keterbatasan penguasaan teknologi maupun hambatan penguasaan perangkat elektronik. Tujuan kegiatan ini untuk: 1) memberikan penguatan kemampuan penguasaan teknologi yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran jarak jauh (PJJ), dan 2) meningkatkan kerja sama dan citra Ikatan Kekeluargaan Perempuan Maranatha kepada masyarakat luas. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode Aset Based Community Development (ABCD) dengan pendekatan pendampingan dan praktik. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan secara daring yang diikuti oleh 50 tenaga pendidik sekolah dasar di Tangerang. Pada akhir kegiatan, peserta pelatihan mendapatkan wawasan dan mempraktikkan tentang teknik dan tips pembuatan materi PJJ dengan menggunakan power point yang komunikatif untuk mendukung proses belajar daring.

Abstract

Timber connection capacity, in case of beam-column joint connection provides significant impact on the wooden building structures. Strength and stiffness of timber connections using reinforcement technique of wooden building structures have not been studied intensively. This paper studies the use of nails and modified-washer to improve wood connection’s performance. The experimental tests were conducted in the laboratory by comparing the partial connection between test specimen timber without reinforcement (standard type) and the reinforcement (PRP type). The testing was conducted based on partial connection beam-column joint test using Universal Testing Machine’s with a modified holder. Wood studied includes Meranti (Shorea spp.) and Mersawa (Anisoptera spp.). PRP type connection was using nails and modified-washer strengthening, and standard type connection was using a classic washer. Parameters studied were strength and stiffness of the connection, reviewed both: proportional limit load and ultimate limit load conditions. Result obtained from this research indicates that the use of nails and modified-washer make a positive contribution to improving the performance of the beam- column timber joint connections, in terms of strength capacity (both of proportional limit and ultimate limit loads) and stiffness capacity (displacement ductility ratio). Meranti beam-column timber joint is more brittle than Mersawa beam column timber joint, it has an impact on the results. PRP-type of Mersawa timber connection produces a higher ductility than the standard type, while the PRP-type of Meranti timber connection produces a similar ductility to the standard type.

Abstract

Abstrak. Sambungan antar komponen struktur, khususnya hubungan join balok-kolom memberikan kontribusi yang dominan terhadap perilaku struktur bangunan gedung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari perilaku kekuatan dan kekakuan sambungan kayu dengan alat sambung baut, yaitu hubungan join balok-kolom. Dalam penelitian ini dikembangkan model perkuatan sambungan dengan adanya ring-modifikasi dan perkuatan-paku (selanjutnya disebut sambungan PRP) untuk meningkatkan tingkat daktilitas sambungan. Ruang lingkup penelitian antara lain jenis kayu yang digunakan yaitu Meranti (Shorea spp.), Rengas (Gluta spp.), dan Keruing (Dipterocarpus spp.) dengan rentang berat jenis berkisar antara 0,47-0,72. Pengujian eksperimental dilakukan di laboratorium dengan tipe pembebanan monotonik. Model benda uji yang digunakan mengacu pada metode uji baut pada sambungan kayu ASTM D5652-95. Penggunaan ring-modifikasi dan perkuatan paku memberikan kontribusi positif terhadaphasil pengujian sambungan khususnya perilaku kinerja kekuatan dan kekakuan sambungan kayu, yaitu beban batas proporsional yang dapat dicapai sambungan PRP meningkat berkisar 3,09-19,89% lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan sambungan standar (tanpa perkuatan), beban batas ultimit yang dapat dicapai sambungan PRP 3,47-28,94% lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan sambungan standar. Secara umum tingkat daktilitas yang dapat dicapai sambungan PRP adalah 3,69-11,03% lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan sambungan standar. Abstract. The connection between the structural members, especially the beam-column joints provide a dominant contribution to the behavior of the building structure. The aim of this research is to study the behavior of strength and stiffness of timber connection with a bolt connection, which are the beam-column joints. In this study is developed a reinforcement connection model with the ring-modification and nail-strengthening (hereinafter referred to as the PRP connection) to improve the connection ductility. The scope of the study is the types of timber used such as Meranti (Shorea spp.), Rengas (Gluta spp.), and Keruing (Dipterocarpus spp.) with Specific Gravity ranged from 0.47 to 0.72. Experimental tests are performed in the laboratory using the monotonic loading type. The use of specimens are based on a standard test method for bolts connections in wood ASTM D5652-95. The use of ringmodification and nail-strengthening give a positive contribution to the test results, especially the connection strength and stiffness performance behavior of timber connections, i.e., the proportional limit load can be achieved the PRP connection ranged from 3.09 to 19.89% that increases higher than the standard connection (without reinforcement), ultimate limit loads that can be achieved the PRP connection from 3.47 to 28.94% which is higher compared to the standard connection. In general, the level of ductility can be achieved the PRP connection between 3.69 and 11.03% which is higher compared to the standard connection.

Abstract

Kerja sebagai aktivitas yang secara sengaja dan berguna dilakukan manusia untuk menjamin kelangsungan hidupnya. Salah satu modal untuk mencapai keberhasilan kerja adalah kemampuan berkonsentrasi. Ada banyak faktor yang mempengaruhi konsentrasi, salah satu diantaranya adalah kondisi lingkungan fisik,  dalam hal ini yaitu  getaran. Banyak pekerja yang dalam keseharian mengalami getaran pada saat bekerja, misalnya pekerja pengeboran, supir, dsb. Tubuh membutuhkan energi untuk menetralkan getaran. Hal ini dapat menyebabkan kelelahan dini, juga dapat mengganggu konsentrasi kerja. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan penelitian untuk mengetahui sampai sejauhmana getaran dapat mempengaruhi konsentrasi dan adakah perbedaan antara getaran yang bersifat kontinu dengan getaran yang terjadi secara mendadak. Tahap awal penelitian diawali dengan pembuatan lantai getar dan perancangan 5 skenario pekerjaan (tanpa getaran, getaran ±8Hz, getaran ±10Hz, getaran ±13Hz, dan getaran yang muncul tiba-tiba). Selanjutnya dilakukan pemilihan responden yang harus memenuhi spesifikasi tertentu. Responden harus menyebutkan 60 warna yang tertera di layar untuk setiap skenario. Pengukuran konsentrasi dilakukan dengan menghitung jumlah kesalahan yang dibuat.  Pengamatan dilakukan selama 2 hari. Hari pertama dilakukan pengambilan data skenario 1,3,dan 5. Hari kedua  dilakukan pengambilan data skenario 2 dan 4.  Setelah data terkumpul, dilakukan uji statistik non parametrik. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan antara skenario 1 dengan skenario 3, juga antara skenario 2 dengan skenario 4. Namun terdapat perbedaan skenario 1 dengan skenario 5 maupun skenario 3 dengan skenario 5. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa getaran sampai dengan batas ± 13Hz tidak mempengaruhi konsentrasi. Namun getaran yang muncul tiba-tiba akan menimbulkan kesalahan yang lebih banyak dibandingkan getaran yang sifatnya kontinu.  Kata kunci: getaran, konsentrasi, pengaruh

Abstract

This Mural Painting Community Service was carried out in collaboration with the Bandung Taruna Bakti Kindergarten School with Fine Arts Study Program, Maranatha Women's Family Association, and Spectrum Wall Paint Industry as a material sponsor. The purpose of this mural creation activity is to bring the colorful space closer to the children's play area during breaks so that it have a positive impact on the children mental development. Children at the golden age of 0-8 years old have a rapid growth in cognitive, motoric and psychosocial aspects. The results of the study stated that children who received color stimulation continuously at the age of golden age would grow up to be strong individuals in facing various challenges and problems of life. The method used in this community service was to sketch the stylized forms of flora and fauna directly onto the wall like graffiti painting by using permanent black graffiti spray paint. Furthermore, the sketches of flora and fauna stylized forms are filled with striking colors, various textures according to their respective creativity with tinting technology wall paint media that is resistant to weather. The success of this activity is expected to be a driving force for adults to care for the kindergartens at their early childhood, so the next generation would have higher quality in the future.

Abstract

Waves and currents can remove sand from the coastal areas that caused beach erosion. Beach erosion needs to be handled by building breakwater. Rubble mound breakwater is chosen to dissipate the wave energy. Rubble mound structures are widely used throughout the world; so naturally, stability tests of rubble mound structures are the most frequently conducted coastal structure model. Two-dimensional rubble mound structure physical model is carried out in a flume. The armor layer facing the seaward uses tetrapods that are placed randomly and the core layer is set to be stable by using geotube. Three different slopes of rubble mound model facing the seaward is applied, i.e., 1:1.5, 1:2, and 1:2.5, respectively. There are also four different water levels used, i.e., 38 cm, 54 cm, 63 cm, and 70 cm. The measured parameters of this study are the wave height and wave period in front of and behind the breakwater structure. The analysis that can be done is the wave absorber and transmission waves. The stability of the structure can be observed in the form of displacement armor testing on the breakwater and at toe for a wide variety of slope and water level variations.

Abstract

Advances in technology have made it impossible for everyone to avoid using gadgets. The devices used are varied, ranging from mobile phones, computers, laptops, etc. Social media applications used are various types and are very applicable. Device users are not only from workers, but children and adolescents are using it. Social media contains educational content, skills, hobbies, entertainment, and adult content. The problems are some children often choose adult shows and the time spent using the device often escapes parental supervision. The purpose of this program is to transfer knowledge regarding solutions in using devices using the service learning (SL) method. Device use in children and early adolescents needs to be regulated starting from the time of use, supervision, purpose, accessible content, and where to use the device. The results of community service are that the role of parents and family is very important in educating young children and adolescents in using gadgets wisely, children understand the limitations of using devices from the length of time they are used, places, and materials that can be seen.

Abstract

Indonesia is very rich in local wisdom, various types of plants can be processed into batik materials, one of which is tamarind tree which has not been widely known by many people. Tamarind seeds can be processed into a kind of cold wax, not hot wax. In the practice of traditional batik, this material is then used in community service activities with the aim of introducing how to make batik through batik workshop using cold wax easily and environmentally friendly. Participants in this workshop were foreign students and other people by using lectures method, batik demonstrations, and batik practices. To test the success of participants in batik knowledge and practice, the researcher used paired samples test. Based on the analysis, it can be said that there are differences in the knowledge of participants before and after community service activities. The aim of assistance was achieved because the transfer knowledge was successful, supported by the results of the trainer's questionnaire evaluation in terms of mastery of the material, clarity of material delivery, and appropriateness of time allocation.
