Abstract

Learning in the industrial era 4.0 requires students to be able to have critical thinking skills, creative, communicative, collaborative, meaningful, interesting, applicable, adaptive, and contextual, and have selling points to foster student entrepreneurship. Biology is one of the subjects that can be applied to foster students' entrepreneurial spirit through Biopreneur activities. The entrepreneurial attitude of students cannot just grow but must be instilled early. Based on the results of observations and interviews with biology teachers at SMAIT AL-FITYAN Kubu Raya, information was obtained that students had never been given learning about biopreneurs. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out Biopreneur service activities for making cheese using kandis acid as a coagulant to replace rennet to foster students' entrepreneurial attitudes at SMAIT AL-FITIYAN. The methods that will be used in the service activities are; giving pre-test, socialization activities about cheese and the use of kandis acid; cheese making training; and evaluation of service activities by giving post-tests and response questionnaires. Abstract

Language is an important communication system, and English serves as an international language and a requirement for studying abroad. However, students in Islamic boarding schools often lack time to learn English. To address this, SMAS NW Ulil Albab Gegek initiated a TOEFL training program for twelfth-grade students from August to October 2023. This program involved three main skills: reading, writing, and listening, with sessions held three times a week without disrupting the students' regular schedules. The preparation stage included planning materials, scheduling, and initial observations, followed by student registration with parental consent. The implementation used the school's laboratory, with pre-test and post-test evaluations to measure progress. Results showed an increase in students' TOEFL scores from an average of 383 (pre-test) to 421 (post-test), reflecting a 5% improvement. Although the score increase was modest, it demonstrated the training's effectiveness in enhancing students' understanding and test-taking strategies. This program not only prepared students for higher education and scholarship opportunities but also improved their overall English proficiency. The initiative by SMAS NW Ulil Albab Gegek provides a model for integrating intensive TOEFL training into the school curriculum, especially in remote areas, thus enhancing students' academic and professional prospects

Abstract

English is a foreign language that has an important urgency in the current era of globalization. A good command of English can be the key to accessing opportunities, especially in education and works. However, in many elementary schools, English is often sidelined or even replaced by local subjects, raising concerns about the urgency of reform in the Indonesian education system. In response to this challenge, the Ministry of Education has taken the decision to make English a compulsory subject starting from grade 3 of primary school, with an implementation date of 2027/2028. To support this effort, a program called English Clinical was implemented at Elementary School Number 72 Bengkulu City for a period of 2 months involving 30 students. This program aims to improve learners' English competency through the use of creative and innovative teaching methods. Through the English Clinical program, basic English concepts are introduced through learning clubs that adopt learning methods in the form of discussion, question and answer, practice, and assignments, with a focus on a “learning through play” approach. The evaluation results show a very significant improvement in learners' understanding and mastery of English.  The average percentage of correct answers in the final exam ranged from 80% to 100%. Thus, the English Clinical program succeeded in achieving its goal of introducing basic English concepts effectively. The combination of comprehensive learning methods and media brought a positive impact on learners' learning outcomes, confirming the importance of an interactive and fun approach to foreign language learning among children.
