Abstract

The goal of the STEM with project-based learning workshop at the MGMP IPA Oryza Sativa, Poso Regency, is to enhance the skills of science teachers by developing STEM-based learning that aligns with the Merdeka curriculum. Junior high school science teachers, members of the Oryza Sativa IPA Subject Teachers' Conference (MGMP) in Poso Regency, attended this workshop. The workshop outcomes indicated a commendable enhancement in the proficiency of science instructors in implementing STEM-based learning orientated to the along with the Merdeka curriculum. Science teachers also demonstrated awareness and proficiency in integrating STEM concepts and the Merdeka curriculum into science learning. Therefore, we anticipate that this workshop will enhance the quality of science education at the MGMP IPA Oryza Sativa, Poso Regency. Abstrak Peningkatan keterampilan guru IPA melalui workshop STEM-project based learning berorientasi kurikulum Merdeka di MGMP IPA Oryza Sativa Kabupaten Poso bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas guru IPA dalam mengembangkan pembelajaran yang berbasis STEM dan berorientasi kurikulum Merdeka. Workshop ini diikuti oleh guru-guru IPA Sekolah Menegah Pertama yang terhimpun pada Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran (MGMP) IPA Oryza Sativa Kabupaten Poso. Hasil dari workshop ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan kapasitas guru IPA dalam mengembangkan proses pembelajaran yang berbasis STEM dan berorientasi kurikulum Merdeka. Guru IPA juga menunjukkan kesadaran dan kemampuan dalam mengintegrasikan konsep STEM dan kurikulum Merdeka dalam pembelajaran IPA. Dengan demikian, workshop ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran IPA di MGMP IPA Oryza Sativa Kabupaten Poso.

Abstract

This service activity aims to improve teachers' ability to integrate character education and students' HOTS thinking skills in the learning process through the preparation of learning tools and introduce the concept of learning with lesson study to teachers. This activity is carried out in the form of training and practice of making learning tools. In the delivery of the material, the teachers were provided with information about learning with lesson study, preparation of learning tools that integrate character education, and the importance of developing HOTS skills as well as the characteristics of HOTS questions. The results of the service showed that the teachers had understood and had an overview of the learning implemented with the lesson study model. The teachers have also understood that one form of integration of character education in learning tools is by practicing the Pancasila student profile as expected in the independent curriculum. Furthermore, the teachers have understood that the project activity of strengthening the Pancasila learner profile is one of the activities that can improve students' HOTS skills. Abstrak Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam mengintegrasikan pendidikan karakter dan keterampilan berpikir HOTS siswa dalam proses pembelajaran melalui penyusunan perangkat pembelajaran serta memperkenalkan konsep pembelajaran dengan lesson study kepada guru. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dalam bentuk pelatihan dan praktek pembuatan perangkat pembelajaran. Pada penyampaian materi, para guru dibekali dengan informasi tentang pembelajaran dengan lesson study, penyusunan perangkat pembelajaran yang mengintegrasikan pendidikan karakter, dan pentingnya pengembangan keterampilan HOTS serta ciri dan karakteristik soal-soal HOTS. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa para guru telah memahami dna telah memiliki gambaran tentang pembelajaran yang dilaksanakan dengan model lesson study. Para guru juga telah memahami bahwa salah satu bentuk integrasi pendidikan karakter dalam perangkat pembelajaran adalah dengan pengamalan profil pelajar pancasila sebagaimana yang diharapkan dapa kurikulum merdeka. Selanjutnya para guru telah memahami bahwa kegiatan project penguatan profil pelajar pancasila merupakan salah satu kegiatan yang dapat meningkatkan keterampilan HOTS siswa.

Abstract

The low performance of science teachers in learning chemistry material at SMP Negeri 17 Palu is caused by the density of material and the lack of supporting facilities as well as the limitations of teacher professionalism, especially for those with a background in physics and biology education. This problem occurs not only at SMP Negeri 17 Palu, but also at SMP Negeri 16 Palu. Intervention is therefore necessary to enhance the quality of science learning. FKIP Tadulako University implemented an in-depth chemistry material program for science teachers at SMP Palu Utara and Tawaeli with the goal of improving their professional and pedagogical competence. Subject teachers actively participated in this program, applying the principles of cooperative and mutual learning. The evaluation showed a significant increase in teachers' understanding of chemistry concepts and the application of active learning strategies in the classroom. The stages of the activity include material identification, in-depth study of the material, preparation of RPP or teaching modules, and evaluation of the results. The school's full support and the enthusiasm of the participants contributed to the success of this program, with plans to continue advanced training with more specific material. Abstrak Rendahnya kinerja guru IPA dalam pembelajaran materi kimia di SMP Negeri 17 Palu disebabkan oleh padatnya materi dan kurangnya fasilitas pendukung serta keterbatasan profesionalisme guru, terutama bagi mereka yang berlatar belakang pendidikan fisika dan biologi. Masalah ini tidak hanya terjadi di SMP Negeri 17 Palu, tetapi juga di SMP Negeri 16 Palu. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan intervensi untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran IPA. FKIP Universitas Tadulako melaksanakan program pendalaman materi kimia bagi guru-guru IPA di SMP Palu Utara dan Tawaeli, dengan tujuan meningkatkan kompetensi profesional dan pedagogik mereka. Program ini dilakukan secara berkelanjutan dengan melibatkan guru mata pelajaran dan menerapkan prinsip-prinsip pembelajaran kooperatif dan mutual learning. Evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman guru terhadap konsep-konsep kimia dan penerapan strategi pembelajaran aktif di kelas. Tahapan kegiatan meliputi identifikasi materi, pendalaman materi dan penyusunan RPP atau Modul Ajar, serta evaluasi hasil. Dukungan penuh dari pihak sekolah dan antusiasme peserta berkontribusi pada keberhasilan program ini, dengan rencana untuk melanjutkan pelatihan lanjutan dengan materi yang lebih spesifik.

Abstract

The results of the 2022 national survey showed that the financial literacy rate in West Sumatra was 40.78%, far below the national average, and ranked in the bottom 3 in Sumatra. Therefore, various efforts are needed to improve financial literacy. This community service activity focuses on financial literacy in household financial management considering the many financial problems in households due to the lack of knowledge of housewives in managing household finances. The object of this activity is the Bundo Kanduang organization in West Air Tawar. In Minangkabau, Bundo Kanduang acts as the guardian of the Rumah Gadang who is responsible for the Rumah Gadang, high heirloom property, and is also a symbol for his people and is expected to be a role model for the society. The proposing team provided training to enhance the financial literacy of Bundo Kanduang through simple bookkeeping and good financial planning in order for upgrading the quality of household financial management. By the time the activity ended, 72.5% of the material and cases had been well understood by the participants. After this activity, it is hoped that mothers can practice the knowledge that has been given and can share their knowledge with housewives in their environment.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of technology has significantly influenced education, including the integration of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in geography lessons to prepare students for the demands of the digital era. This training was designed to enhance the understanding and skills of students at SMKS Islam Pesantren Alam Indonesia in Barru District in using Google Earth Pro for land mapping. The training was conducted through five stages: group approach, knowledge enhancement, spatial data creation, data processing, and evaluation. Results show that participants improved their understanding of GIS concepts and successfully applied practical skills, including spatial data interpretation and collection on a 5.23-hectare agricultural plot. The final evaluation indicated that participants were able to create accurate maps and databases of the agricultural area. Overall, this training effectively enhanced digital mapping skills among students and teachers, equipping them for technological challenges.

Abstract

This community service program focuses on the need for digital transformation in the management of tourism in Sangiran Tourism Village, aiming to enhance local tourism capabilities. The methodology employed involved hands-on training conducted at the Sangiran Tourism Village Hall on October 11-12, 2024, with 30 participants from various tourism operations. The training encompassed activity planning, implementation, evaluation, and final reporting, emphasizing digital marketing techniques and the use of digital tools for effective tourism promotion. Key findings indicate that participants experienced significant improvement in digital skills, particularly in content management and promotion through social media and QR codes. The evaluation revealed a high satisfaction level, with 86.7% of participants expressing strong approval of the program's effectiveness. This activity concludes that structured community-focused training programs play a crucial role in empowering local tourism practitioners to adapt to digital advancements, ultimately enhancing the competitiveness and sustainability of tourism destinations. Future initiatives should build on these findings to further integrate digital strategies into local tourism development.

Abstract

Breast milk is an excellent source of nutrition for infants, with a balanced composition that meets the growth needs of babies. The coverage of exclusive breastfeeding in Indonesia is still low. This community service aims to empower pregnant women through education and training on breastfeeding techniques in preparation for breastfeeding and exclusive breastfeeding in Penyengat Olak Village, Muaro Jambi Regency, in 2024. The community service activities will be carried out from January to October 2024. The implementation method involves empowering pregnant women through education, training, and demonstrations on correct breastfeeding techniques. This community service will also include demonstrations on proper breastfeeding methods. The tools used include educational materials on exclusive breastfeeding and breastfeeding preparation, a module on correct breastfeeding techniques, videos, a laptop, an LCD projector, stationery, and baby demonstration models. This empowerment activity successfully increased the knowledge and skills of pregnant women in Penyengat Olak Village. It is hoped that with this program, mothers can provide exclusive breastfeeding that positively impacts the health of both mothers and babies, as well as raise awareness about the importance of breastfeeding within the community.

Abstract

Enhancing teachers’ ability to use Merdeka Curriculum and establish a nurturing learning environment is the aim of community service. The training activities include observation, socializing, material provision, practical experience, assessment, and reflection. Teachers who complete this program will be able to utilize the Merdeka Mengajar Platform to develop comprehensive lesson plans and assessments that align with the ideas of flexible and student-focused learning. According to the evaluation’s findings, 84% of teachers are able to utilize the platform on their own, and 87.5% of teachers effectively applied the Merdeka Curriculum with an average score of 3.50. Still, some educators require ongoing assistance. With ongoing support, it is envisaged that the training’s outcomes would enhance instruction quality and overall student learning outcomes.

Abstract

The incidence of HIV in the Bontomangape Galesong Health Center work area has raised a concern for Hasanuddin University (UNHAS). Partnering with the health center, UNHAS team carried out Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT) posts to educate the community and to conduct early detection of HIV in the health center work area. The activities in the VCT post included the playing of educational videos, the distribution of HIV andsexually transmitted diseases (STD) educational leaflets, counseling to undertake tests for family members of people with HIV, counseling to do tests on the people at risk, rapid antigen HIV-Syphilis examination, and post-screening counseling. The results and outputs produced in program were (1) HIV and STD educational videos and leaflets, (2) Publication in the online media, and (3) Increased public knowledge and awareness regarding the dangers and risk factors of HIV, and the importance of early detection of HIV and STI. Abstrak Tingkat kejadian HIV di daerah pesisir termasuk di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Bontomangape Galesong menjadi perhatian Universitas Hasanuddin (UNHAS). Bermitra dengan pihak puskesmas, tim UNHAS melaksanakan pos Voluntary Counselling and Testing (VCT) untuk edukasi dan skrining HIV di wilayah kerja puskesmas. Kegiatan pos VCT termasuk pemutaran video edukasi dan penyebaran leaflet HIV dan Infeksi menular seksual (IMS), konseling untuk melakukan tes bagi para anggota keluarga ODHIV, konseling test pada masyarakat umum yang beresiko, pemeriksaan rapid antigen HIV-Sifilis, dan konseling pasca skrining. Luaran yang dihasilkan pada kegiatan ini adalah (1) Video dan leaflet edukasi HIV dan IMS, (2) Publikasi pada media online, dan (3) meningkatnya pengetahuan dan kesadaran masyarakat mengenai bahaya dan faktor risiko HIV, serta pentingnya deteksi dini HIV dan IMS.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to increase the productivity of organic robusta coffee and the quality of fermented coffee beans through the application of organic fertilizers and sustainable cultivation practices in Pentingsari Village, Cangkringan District, Sleman Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta. Pentingsari Village is located on the slopes of Mount Merapi with fertile volcanic soil, making it a potential location for the development of organic coffee farming. Challenges faced by farmers include the use of inorganic fertilizers that damage soil quality and lack of knowledge about organic farming practices. Through a series of counseling, training, and field practice, this program provides education and skills to farmers to adopt better organic farming practices. The results of the activities show an increase in farmers' knowledge about organic coffee cultivation techniques, improvements in coffee bean fermentation methods, and increased productivity and quality of robusta coffee. The implementation of organic fertilizers in agricultural land management has a positive impact on soil fertility and the sustainability of coffee production
