Abstract

Background: Computational thinking (CT) is a basic ability that everyone should have in the 21st century. CT as a thought process needed in formulating problems and solutions, so that problem solving is obtained quickly, precisely and effectively. The purpose of this study is to determine the profile of Computational thinking skills in learning environmental change through a virtual laboratory. Methods: The participants used in this study were class X MIPA 4 SMAN 2 Sukabumi for the 2020-2021 academic year with a total of 25 students. The research data was obtained by analyzing a paper-based Student Work Sheet (LKPD). LKPD was developed by integrating Computational Thinking in the stages of its learning activities. The results are assessed and analyzed based on a pre-compiled assessment rubric. The data analysis prepared in this study is to calculate  the percentage of value gain from LKPD based on several CT pillars developed. Results: The results obtained the skill profile of the computational thinking pillars already owned by students, namely abstraction by 96.7%, algorithms by 92%, decomposition by 96.5% and pattern recognition by 96.25% Conclusion: Average conclusion overall computational thinking skills  with good categories. Abstract

Background: This study aims to analyze descriptively students' creative thinking skills in solving biology questions regarding viruses at class X level at MA Mazro'atul Huda Wonorenggo Demak, based on the results of written test answers given by researchers to students. Methods: The type of research is quantitative research with data in the form of numbers that are processed using simple statistical formulas. The object of this study was the 20 students in class X as a population research. Data collection techniques used were written tests, interviews, observation and documentation. The statistical analysis is simple in the form of percentage data. Results: From the analysis conducted on the creative thinking abilities of class X MIPA 1 MA Mazro'atul Huda Wonorenggo Demak, it can be concluded that students' creative thinking abilities are in the high category with a percentage of 55%. The highest percentage is in the level of detail with a percentage of 70%, while the lowest percentage is in the level of fluency and novelty with the same percentage, namely 59%. Conclusion: Students who have high level abilities are able to fulfill all categories in the indicator, students who have medium levels are able to fulfill several indicator categories, while students who have low level abilities, have not been able to fulfill all categories in indicators. Abstract

Background: This research aims to develop audio-visual media-based tools on the subject of protein synthesis. Methods: The study design based on the analysis of some of biology material’s characteristic that difficult, rote, and abstract. Data collection was carried out with interviews, questionnaires, and formative tests. Results: Learning tools based on audio-visual media have been successfully developed and obtained as a feasible learning media for learning grade 12 biology. This learning tool was developed with several stages including: needs analysis, selection of materials and tools used to develop media, validation from experts, media improvement based on experts' suggestions and input, and dissemination of media developed by researchers. From the tests conducted by researchers, learning devices based on audio-visual media are very feasible to use. This is based on the overall average of the evaluation results of the four learning devices from the evaluation results by material experts, media experts, and development trials obtained an average score of 94% of the maximum score of 100% so that audio-visual media-based learning devices on the subject of protein synthesis are in the very feasible category. Conclusion: This shows that learning devices based on audio-visual media on the subject of protein synthesis are very feasible to use in learning biology grade 12 SMA. Abstract

Background: Each student has different characteristics, they will develop certain attitudes, interests, appreciation and goals. Therefore, the teacher's duty is to form motivation that can encourage students to do something to achieve their learning goals. This research aims to determine the effect of applying audiovisual learning media in the form of songs based on culturally responsive teaching in improving students' learning motivation on biodiversity material. Method: This research applies the collaborative classroom action reasearch methods with a quantitative approach with to sudy subjects of 36 students. The instruments used were students' initial motivational interview sheets, learning implementation observation sheets, student attitudes and skills observation sheets, and student learning motivation questionnaires. Students' learning motivation measured in this study included 10 indicators of 1) There is desire. to be successful, 2) There is encouragement and need to learn, 3) Perseverance in facing tasks, 4) Tenacity in facing difficulties, 5) Independence in acting, 6) Providing time, 7) Trying to estimate the results of various strategies, 8) Enjoying finding and solving problems - questions, 9) Courage to face failure, 10) Ability to rise from failure. Results: The results show that percentage of student motivation in cycle 1 obtained an average motivation score of 74.27%, while in cycle 2 the average percentage of student motivation was 79.57%. Overall, the average percentage of student motivation in cycles 1 and 2 was 76.92%. Conclusion: The implementation of audiovisual learning media in the form of CRT-based songs in biodiversity material can improve students' learning motivation. This can be seen from the average percentage of students' learning motivation of 76.92% with moderate motivation interpretatios. Abstract

Background: Motivation is a series of efforts to achieve certain conditions, so that someone is want to do it. It is known that students' learning motivation is still low, indicated by students' behavior that is less active in learning. The aim of this research is an effort to increase students' learning motivation through a Culturally Responsive Teaching approach to Biodiversity material. Methods: This research is Classroom Action Research (PTK), conducted at SMAN 9 Bogor City with research subjects namely class X.7 students, totaling 36 students. The research time for this classroom action was carried out during July-August 2023. This research was carried out collaboratively based on lesson study. In practice, this classroom action research is carried out through stages in cycles, with a series in each cycle, namely the planning, implementation, observation and reflection stages. Results: In cycles 1 and II overall there was a significant increase because all students were motivated so that no students had sufficient motivation in cycles I and II. In cycle I, 17 people (47%) stated that they were motivated and had high motivation and 19 people (53%) stated that they were motivated and had very high motivation in participating in learning activities using the Culturally Responsive Teaching approach. In cycle II students who are motivated and have very high motivation have increased to 29 students (81%) and students who have high motivation are 7 people (19%) students total. Conclusion: ased on the results of distributing motivation questionnaires, it can be seen that there is an increase in students' learning motivation in each cycle. Abstract

Background: This classroom action research was motivated by the low digital literacy skills of students due to the lack of effective and quality literacy resources in schools. The aim of this research is an effort to increase students' digital literacy through the use of flipbook-based Biodiversity e-modules. Methods: This research applies the collaborative PTK method based on lesson study. This research was carried out in class X8 of SMA Negeri 9 Bogor City with 36 students. The instruments used were a digital literacy questionnaire and student response questionnaire, as well as a teacher interview format. Results: The average score obtained in Cycle I was 72.45 which increased to 81.67 in Cycle II, with the percentage of students' digital literacy skills in Cycle II being 83% of the total number of students with Very Good criteria. The average emergence of digital literacy skills in each indicator in Cycle I was in the good criteria (60 - 80) and in Cycle II there was an increase with the average showing very good criteria (81 - 100). The results of the student response questionnaire obtained scores ranging from 81 - 100 in the very good category which is in line with the positive response from teachers regarding the use of the flipbook-based Biodiversity e-module.. Conclusion: The results of all the instruments used show that there is an increase in students' digital literacy skills through the use of flipbook-based Biodiversity e-modules. Abstract

Background: Learning motivation is a state of individual willingness or enthusiasm in planning and doing something in order to achieve predetermined goals. There are two objectives of this class action research, including to find out how to increase the motivation of students in class XI IPA 5 in the biology learning process of tissue structure and function material using puzzles as learning media, and to find out the implementation of the learning process of tissue structure and function that applies puzzle learning media in class XI IPA 5. Method: This study used class action research with the research subjects, namely 31 students of class XI IPA 5 SMA Negeri 9 Bogor City. There are two cycles with 4JP x 45 minutes for each research cycle. the instruments used in this study include a learning motivation questionnaire of 30 statements and a response questionnaire containing 10 statements for puzzle learning media based on a Likert scale. Results: Based on the data obtained regarding learning motivation by applying puzzle learning media, it is known that the average value of student motivation at the pre-cycle stage is 67%, the average value at the first cycle stage is 73%, and at the second cycle stage is 75%. The three average values are in the "high" category, besides that this figure also shows a significant increase in student motivation. The average value of the response questionnaire shown is 70% with the description "practical". Conclusion:  There is a significant increase in learning motivation in students in learning the structure and function of tissues with puzzles that are practical to use as learning media Keywords : Motivation to Learn; Learning media; Puzzle

Abstract

Background: Social discrimination based on a person's ethnic and cultural background still often occurs in Indonesia, this is due to feelings of superiority as someone with a better background. There is a need to introduce culture and ethnicity through classroom learning, and low student learning outcomes are often found in cell material because this material is an abstract concept for students. Methods: Data collection uses test and non-test instruments, test instruments in the form of multiple choice questions and non-test instruments through response questionnaires. The data obtained was then analyzed using the Microsoft-Excel application. Results: Based on the data analysis that has been carried out, student learning outcomes increase and the N-gain value in cycle 1 is 79.36 and in cycle 2 is 89.39 with effective criteria. The student response questionnaire analyzed in cycle 1 as a whole had good criteria and in cycle 2 as a whole had very good criteria. Conclusion: The application of the inkuiri terbimbing model using PASAGI media can effectively improve student learning outcomes. Keywords : guided inquiry; PASAGI; learning outcomes

Abstract

Background: LKPD used is still in printed form and is not yet varied so that students' problem solving abilities are not optimal. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of PBL-based E-LKPD on students' problem-solving abilities at MAN 1 Indramayu. Method: This research is a quantitative research with the research design True Experimental Post-test only control design. Population in this study were all students of class X IPA MAN 1 Indramayu with a sample of class X IPA 3 as the control class and class X IPA 2 as the experimental class. Sampling technique in this study was taken using the Cluster Sampling technique. Data were collected by problem solving techniques and observation tests. Test instrument in this study was a description to measure students' problem-solving abilities. The observation sheet instrument contains problem solving indicators, PBL learning syntax, student activities, constraints, and descriptions.. Results:  Data analysis techniques using the t-test (Independent Sample T-test). Independent Sample T-test showed sig. (2-tailed) < 0.05, thus proving that there is a significant difference in the average increase in students' problem solving abilities between the experimental class and the control class.  Conclusion:  Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there is an effect of using PBL-based E-LKPD on students' problem-solving abilities. Abstract

Background: Activities that occur in the classroom during the Biology learning process are generally still teacher centered which places the teacher as the only source of information and only as a transfer of knowledge from teacher to student. This study aims to analyze the relationship between concept mastery and problem solving ability through problem-based learning model in Biology subject. The subjects in this study were students of SMA Negeri 4 Kota Sukabumi class XI IPA 3 with a total of 30 people in the even semester of the 2012/2013 academic year. Method: This study used correlational method with bivariate correlation research design. To capture aspects of students' concept mastery and problem-solving skills, instruments were used in the form of concept mastery tests and problem-solving skills tests in the form of multiple choice and student response questionnaires to the problem-based learning model to support the research results. Results: It can be seen from the results of testing the correlation Rhitung of 0.687> Rtabel (0.05) of 0.361 and the results of testing the significance of the correlation index Thitung of 7.217> Ttabel (0.05) of 2.048 with a coefficient of determination of 46.24. Conclusion: There is a positive and significant relationship between concept mastery and problem solving ability through problem-based learning model.
