Abstract

The issue of waste management remains a major challage at the rural level, especially in areas that do not yet have supporting infrastructure such as a final Disposal Site (TPA). Tarokan Village, Banyuanyar Sub-district, Probolinggo Regency, East Java, is one of the areas facing this problem. The community tends to dispose of waste into ravines and rivers, leading to environmental pollution, ecosystem damage, and health risks for residents. This community service program aims to improve the understanding and skills of Tarokan Village residents in sustainable waste management through a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach. The activities' methods included observing the waste disposal conditions, designing and installing visual educational signs at strategic points, and interactive socialization involving women cadres, village officials, and public health center (Puskesmas) health workers. The implementation results showed a significant increase in community participation, reflected by the attendance of 65% of participants from the total invitations and high enthusiasm during the activities. Visual education played an effective role in building ecological awareness and encouraging changes in community behavior. Furthermore, the program successfully triggered follow-up initiatives such as the plan to establish a Village Waste Bank as an effort for the activity's sustainability. The visual and participatory-based education model implemented proved relevant to be replicated in other areas with similar conditions, while also contributing to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) points 11 and 12, which emphasize the importance of sustainable settlements and responsible consumption.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the coastal community's economic capacity through the integration of mangrove reforestation and the development of educational tourism (edutourism) in Kampung Nipah, Serdang Bedagai Regency, North Sumatra. The community faced several problems, including limited knowledge about mangrove ecosystems, lack of conservation experience, and underdeveloped coastal tourism potential. The program adopted a participatory approach and hands-on training methods. Survey results showed a significant increase in participants’ understanding of mangroves, shifting from mostly low and moderate categories before the program to entirely moderate and high levels afterward. Furthermore, 100% of participants expressed satisfaction with the activities. The program also led to new economic initiatives such as the establishment of a local edutourism management group, tour guiding training, and the development of derivative mangrove products. In conclusion, the program effectively empowered the community both ecologically and economically, despite certain limitations related to time constraints and limited participant reach. Further assistance is recommended to ensure the sustainability of the program’s outcomes.

Abstract

Tangerang City is one of the regions in Banten Province that is vulnerable to geo-hydrometeorological disasters and has a relatively large population with rapid urban growth, which can increase the risk of such disasters. Therefore, information, understanding, and actions regarding geo-hydrometeorological disasters are required. Environmental damage and land use change, such as deforestation, urbanization, river sedimentation, and land function conversion, are significant issues. This activity aims to enhance disaster literacy based on Meteorology, Climatology, Geophysics, and Instrumentation (MKGI) in Tangerang City, scheduled for Monday, July 21, 2025, at SMA Al-Husna, Tangerang City, with a total of 67 participants. Through interactive methods that include material presentation, question and answer sessions, quizzes, and questionnaire filling, participants are provided with a comprehensive understanding of geo-hydrometeorological disasters, mitigation strategies, and the utilization of technology in early warning systems. One of the innovations of this activity is the development of a weather forecast information product based on Telegram bot for the area of Tanah Tinggi Village, which provides weather forecast information automatically using open data from BMKG. Evaluation results show that participants had a good understanding of the socialization material, especially in the topics of information dissemination and geohydrometeorological disasters. The questionnaire index score reached 87.60%, falling into the category of "Strongly Agree". The developed Telegram product successfully presents real-time weather information every 3 hours in a structured and easily accessible manner. This activity proves that a literacy approach based on MKGI and technology can have a positive impact in raising awareness and improving preparedness against geo-hydrometeorological disaster risks.

Abstract

Systematic monitoring of children's growth and development is very important for early childhood educators. However, many PAUD institutions still record child development manually, which is less efficient, and risks data accuracy. Technology integration is the right solution to answer these challenges. This community service aims to improve the ability of teachers to utilize information technology to monitor children's growth and development, optimizing the recording of developmental data through the SIPPA application. This activity is carried out in stages; Preparation, socialization, technical training, implementation of SIPPA use practices, monitoring, and evaluation. The subjects of this activity are all teachers of Baiturrohim Kindergarten. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in the capacity of Baiturrohim Kindergarten teachers in managing child development data digitally. The teachers showed high enthusiasm for the integration of technology in the administrative process of documenting children's growth and development. In addition, this activity also has a positive impact on the institution as a whole, because the recording system becomes more organized, transparent, and easily accessible when needed. In the future, it is hoped that teachers' ability to use the SIPPA application can continue to be developed in an ongoing manner, so that recording children's development is not only an administrative obligation, but also an important instrument in designing learning that is more targeted and based on actual data.

Abstract

While MSMEs play a vital role, they still face serious challenges, particularly in marketing. Many MSMEs in villages still rely on conventional methods to market their products, such as direct sales in traditional markets, word of mouth, or local marketing with very limited reach. This results in superior village products, such as Getek Online (GeOL), being unable to compete more broadly in regional or national markets. Various digital platforms such as social media (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok), marketplaces (Shopee, Tokopedia, Bukalapak), and e-commerce websites and applications provide significant opportunities for MSMEs to expand market reach and increase product competitiveness. Not only does it increase sales, digital marketing also helps businesses understand consumer behavior, build long-term relationships with customers, and increase promotional effectiveness at a relatively lower cost than conventional media. Responding to these challenges, the Getek Online (GeOL) initiative emerged, a community-based movement to digitalize the marketing of river crossings using crossing tools made from wood and bamboo, typical of Pematang Serai village. GeOL is a local innovation aimed at facilitating village MSMEs in utilizing digital marketing collectively and in a structured manner.

Abstract

Waste management remains a critical issue in Indonesia, driven by rapid population growth and the increasing volume of household waste that has not been properly addressed. In Meranjat II Village, Indralaya Selatan Subdistrict, Ogan Ilir Regency, waste is still predominantly managed through conventional practices such as open burning or direct disposal into rivers and fields, which contributes to environmental pollution and health risks. To address this challenge, a community service program was introduced to enhance residents’ knowledge and awareness by implementing waste banks as an environmentally friendly and economically beneficial solution. The program engaged residents in socialization sessions, group discussions, and practical waste-sorting activities. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and questionnaires, and analyzed using a descriptive quantitative approach to assess community acceptance. The results revealed significant improvements, with 80% of participants understanding the importance of waste separation, 90% demonstrating greater concern for environmental cleanliness, and 74% expressing willingness to participate in the waste bank program actively. Nevertheless, challenges remain, including limited supporting facilities, low environmental literacy, and uneven participation. Continuous support from village authorities and other stakeholders is essential to ensure the program’s success and sustainability. Overall, this initiative not only raised environmental awareness but also created opportunities for community-based economic empowerment through sustainable waste management.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the financial digital literacy of MSME actors in Lampupok Village, Aceh Besar, as an effort to promote transparency and efficiency in village financial management. The main problem faced by MSMEs is their limited ability to use digital technology for financial recording and reporting, which affects business accountability and efficiency. The implemented solutions include an initial survey to identify the level of digital literacy, training on the use of digital bookkeeping applications, implementation assistance, and post-training monitoring and evaluation. The results show an increase in financial digital literacy scores from 45 to 75, a rise in MSMEs regularly preparing digital financial reports from 25% to 80%, and a reduction in manual recording time from an average of 5 hours to 2 hours per week. Furthermore, 90% of participants expressed satisfaction or high satisfaction with the program. This activity demonstrates that improving financial digital literacy can enhance the performance, transparency, and credibility of MSMEs before financial institutions. However, limited internet access and technical skills remain challenges to be addressed in future programs.

Abstract

The Average Effective Rate is a new method for calculating Income Tax article 21, which will be implemented by the Indonesian government starting January 1, 2024. TER aims to simplify the process of calculating Income Tax Article 21 and make the taxation system more equitable. Additionally, at the beginning of 2025, the Directorate General of Taxes will implement an administrative service system called Coretax for all tax reporting purposes. The Directorate General of Taxes has conducted extensive outreach; however, it appears that many vocational school accounting teachers are unaware of the changes to Income Tax Article 21 regulations, the method for calculating Income Tax Article 21 using the Average Effective Rate method, and the process for reporting using Coretax. This community service program aims to provide new knowledge about Income Tax Article 21 using the Average Effective Rate method, to improve skills in calculating Income Tax Article 21 using the Average Effective Rate, and to acquire the skills to apply Coretax to create Income Tax Article 21 withholding slips and Income Tax Article 21 periodic tax return reports. This training activity was held at Yarsi University, serving as a concrete example of higher education institutions' contribution to improving the quality of teachers in the field of taxation. The tax training was attended by 36 teachers from various vocational schools in the Central Jakarta area. This community service activity ran smoothly and achieved its objectives. This is demonstrated by the results, which show that MGMP teachers have gained an increase in competence, specifically being able to calculate PPh 21 using the Average Effective Rate method and creating Income Tax Article 21 withholding slips and Income Tax Article 21 Periodic Tax Returns.

Abstract

The Student Organization Capacity Strengthening Program (PPK Ormawa) initiated by the Economics and Accounting Student Association of Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha was carried out in Penuktukan Village, Tejakula District, Buleleng Regency, Bali, with a focus on a blue economy-based transformation. The village has significant marine tourism potential through coral reefs and diving spots, yet its development remains limited due to low financial literacy, weak institutional capacity, and threats of marine ecosystem degradation. This program aims to empower local communities by strengthening the capacity of tourism awareness groups (Pokdarwis) and marine community surveillance groups (Pokmaswas), promoting digital financial literacy for MSMEs, and supporting coral reef conservation for sustainable tourism management. The partners involved included village authorities, Pokdarwis, Pokmaswas, youth organizations, and local MSMEs. The program was conducted in three phases: preparation (survey, FGD, and needs assessment), implementation (socialization, training, drafting of village regulations, marine conservation, product development and digital marketing, and revitalization of tourism infrastructure), and evaluation (pre-test and post-test, field observation, and feedback questionnaires). The results indicate significant improvement in community awareness, with the average pre-test score of 45.8 increasing to 84.7 in the post-test. Local practices of destructive fishing have decreased, MSMEs adopted digital bookkeeping through the Buku Warung application, and Pokdarwis improved their skills in digital promotion. Furthermore, a village tourism community was established as a platform for continuous education. This program successfully enhanced ecological awareness, social solidarity, and economic independence, contributing to the development of Penuktukan as a sustainable marine tourism destination based on the blue economy approach.
