Abstract

Jakarta LavAni is a professional club that recorded brilliant achievements as the champion of the 2022 and 2023 Proliga. However, in the 2025 Proliga, LavAni had to settle for a runner-up position. Although dominated by experienced players and competent foreign athletes, observations showed inconsistencies in jump serve techniques that often missed the net. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness and technical errors in jump serves performed by the Jakarta LavAni club during competition in the 2025 Proliga. This study used a qualitative descriptive method through match video observation techniques. The sample in this study were 7 videos from: the final four (6 videos), and the grand final (1 video), which were played by Club LavAni in the 2025 Proliga. The research findings showed that Jakarta LavAni's jump serve ability was in the adequate category. Although the basic technique has been mastered, its effectiveness is not optimal. Jump serves are still easily received by opponents due to limitations in jump timing, ball bounce consistency, and power and accuracy of the shot. In general, this technique has been mastered fundamentally but has not reached a lethal level of efficiency. A more structured and sustainable training program is needed, especially on timing and mental stability at critical points, so that the jump serve technique can contribute more points to the team's future success.

Abstract

Rapid advancements in digital technology have significantly transformed the behavioral patterns of adolescents, including their participation in physical activities. Heavy reliance on gadgets is frequently linked to increased sedentary tendencies and reduced physical engagement. This study aims to examine the influence of gadget use on students' motivation to exercise at SMAN 1 Jombang. A quantitative correlational design was employed, with a total population of 900 students and a sample of 90 respondents selected through random sampling. The research instruments included questionnaires on gadget use and exercise motivation, which were developed based on relevant indicators and adapted from previous studies. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis and simple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS version 27.01 IBM for Windows. The results showed that gadget use has an effect on students’ motivation to exercise, with a coefficient of determination (R-Square) of 0.053. This indicates that gadget use contributes relatively little to exercise motivation. The findings suggest that the influence of gadget use on exercise motivation is not direct but is influenced by the pattern and purpose of its use. Gadget use dominated by passive entertainment activities, such as social media and video streaming, tends to be associated with increased sedentary behavior. In contrast, productive use has the potential to positively influence exercise motivation. In addition, exercise motivation is also influenced by intrinsic and extrinsic factors, such as interest, health awareness, school environment, and social support. Therefore, efforts to improve exercise motivation should not only focus on limiting gadget use but also on promoting wise usage management and strengthening students’ physical activity habits. The advancement of digital technology has influenced adolescents’ activity patterns, including their participation in sports. High levels of gadget use are often associated with increased sedentary behavior and reduced physical activity. This study aims to examine the effect of gadget use on students’ motivation to exercise at SMAN 1 Jombang. This research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational research design. The population consisted of 900 students, and the sample was determined using random sampling, resulting in 90 respondents. The research instruments were questionnaires on gadget use and exercise motivation, developed based on relevant indicators and adapted from previous studies. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis and simple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS version 27.01 IBM for Windows. The results of the study indicate that gadget use has an effect on students’ motivation to exercise, with a regression value of 0.053. The research results show that gadget use has an influence on students’ motivation to exercise, with a regression value of 0.053. This value indicates that gadget use has a relatively small contribution to students’ motivation to exercise. Thus, gadget use does not always have a negative impact on exercise motivation. When used properly, gadgets can also support students’ motivation to remain active and participate in physical activity.

Abstract

This research explores the connection between height and weight concerning vertical jump capabilities (power leg) and flexibility in proffesional female volleyball players. A cross-sectional design was employed, utilizing a quantitative correlation method. The sample comprised 14 athletes chosen through purposive sampling based on their active training status and absence of injuries. Height and weight were assessed using a stadiometer and digital scales, while vertical jump and flexibility ability were evaluated with testing equipment according to Permenpora No. 15 of 2024 standards. The data analysis was conducted using the Spearman correlation test with a significance threshold of p<0.05. The findings indicated no significant relationship between height or weight with vertical jump (p=0.223 and p=0.187) or flexibility (p=0.171 and p=0.258). The mean values for vertical jump (45.0 cm) and flexibility (19.79 cm) fell short of the national standard. In summary, neither height nor weight significantly impacted these physical attributes. A training regimen concentrating on enhancing muscle strength and flexibility is essential to promote optimal performance in athletes.

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of AI integration on the readiness and perceptions of Physical Education (PE) practitioners in Indonesia, a topic not yet comprehensively mapped. A cross-sectional survey was conducted with 352 respondents (undergraduate students, teachers, graduate students, lecturers). The instrument, based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), assessed demographics, AI knowledge, perceived benefits and risks, and readiness. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, non-parametric tests, and Spearman correlation. Respondents demonstrated high AI exposure (86.4%). Perceived benefits (mean=4.15±0.67) and risks (3.98±0.71) were both high. A significant paradox emerged: personal readiness was very high (4.29±0.61), while institutional readiness was low (3.74±0.89). Significant differences in risk perception were found based on respondent status (p=0.043). AI knowledge positively correlated with perceived benefits (r=0.18), personal readiness (r=0.24), and innovation support (r=0.26) (all p<0.01). Indonesian PE practitioners exhibit high personal readiness for AI integration, yet this is significantly hindered by low institutional preparedness. Policy priorities should focus on enhancing infrastructure, conducting mass AI literacy training, and establishing data protection regulations.

Abstract

Although VO2max is important in sports, there is still a lack of research conducted on professional volleyball athletes. Some studies remain limited and exhibit wide variations. The purpose of this study was to determine the VO2max levels of professional female volleyball players and compare them with those of female volleyball athletes in Asia and worldwide. This study used a comparative, descriptive, quantitative approach. The design used was a cross-sectional design, which took measurements at a single point in time. The sample for this study was purposively selected from 14 people. The instrument used to measure VO2max values was the Balke 15-Minute Run Test. The average VO2max of participants was 39.0±4.2 ml/Kg/sec with a range of 33.5 to 43.7 ml/Kg/sec. Therefore, the cardiorespiratory fitness level of female professional volleyball players in this study, as indicated by VO2max, is below the standards for female volleyball athletes in Asia and Europe but still superior to that of the Indonesian university student population.
