Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of physical activity (X1) and happiness level (X2), both partially and simultaneously, on cardiorespiratory endurance (Y) in the elderly in Debululik Village, South Lamaknen District. The research method used is quantitative with an associative approach. The population in this study is the elderly in Debululik Village, with a sample size of 75 people taken using purposive sampling technique. Cardiorespiratory endurance was measured using the Six Minute Walk Test (6MWT), physical activity through a standardized questionnaire, and happiness level using a subjective well-being scale. Data analysis was carried out using multiple linear regression techniques through SPSS. The results of the study showed that, partially, physical activity did not have a significant effect on the cardiorespiratory endurance of the elderly (Sig. = 0.503 > 0.05). Partially, happiness levels do not have a significant effect on the cardiovascular endurance of the elderly (Sig. = 0.148 > 0.05); however, simultaneously, physical activity and happiness levels have a significant effect on the cardiovascular endurance of the elderly (Sig. < 0.05). This finding highlights the importance of a bio-psychosocial approach, where the synergy between mental motivation (happiness) and consistent physical movement is a key factor in maintaining cardiorespiratory efficiency in older adults.

Abstract

The development of athletic performance among junior high school students has shown a positive trend, particularly in improving motor competence and physical fitness. Coordinative movement training, such as the ABC drill (Agility, Balance, and Coordination), is widely employed in athletic training; however, empirical evidence regarding its effectiveness in improving 100-meter sprint performance among junior high school students remains limited. This study aimed to determine whether an ABC drill training program significantly improves 100-meter sprint performance by enhancing biomotor components related to acceleration and coordination. The study employed a quantitative quasi-experimental approach using a one-group pretest–posttest design. A total of 15 students aged 13–15 years from SMP Islam Al-Azhar were selected through purposive sampling. Sprint performance was assessed using 100-meter sprint pretests and posttests conducted before and after a six-week intervention, consisting of three training sessions per week based on a combined ABC drill program. The normality test indicated that the data were normally distributed. The paired-samples t-test revealed a highly significant difference between the pretest and posttest results (p < 0.001), indicating that the combined training program was effective in improving 100-meter sprint performance. These findings provide empirical evidence and practical recommendations for physical education teachers and coaches to implement multicomponent training programs integrating coordinative and acceleration exercises in physical education classes and extracurricular athletics programs.

Abstract

This study was conducted based on the consideration that students' learning motivation in Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) still needs to be improved. In addition, the use of technology-based learning media in elementary schools has not yet been implemented optimally to support the teaching and learning process. One learning medium with the potential to enhance the quality of instruction is interactive PowerPoint-based learning media. By presenting learning materials in a more engaging and interactive manner, this medium is expected to encourage students to participate more actively during the learning process. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the effectiveness of interactive PowerPoint-based learning media in improving the learning motivation of fourth-grade students at SDN Inpres O'o.This study employed a pre-experimental research method using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The participants consisted of all 22 fourth-grade students, who were selected using the total sampling technique, meaning that the entire population was included as the research sample. Data on students' learning motivation were collected using a questionnaire administered before the treatment (pretest) and after the completion of the treatment (posttest). The collected data were analyzed using the Shapiro–Wilk normality test to examine the distribution of the data. The results of the analysis showed that the Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value was 0.000 (< 0.05). These findings indicate that the use of interactive PowerPoint-based learning media significantly improved the learning motivation of fourth-grade students in Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) at SDN Inpres O'o.

Abstract

This descriptive quantitative study aimed to analyze the levels of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation among the community participating in aerobic gymnastics at the Karanganyar Regency Studio in 2026, while also determining the most dominant factor. Utilizing a survey technique with a Likert-scale questionnaire instrument, this study involved 30 respondents. Data collection was conducted through the distribution of questionnaires covering internal indicators (health needs, enjoyment, interest, self-satisfaction) and external indicators (environment, peers, facilities, social recognition), which were subsequently processed using descriptive percentage analysis. The results indicated that the community's intrinsic motivation was in the high category at 75.29%, whereas extrinsic motivation fell into the moderate category at 66%. These findings confirm that intrinsic motivation is more dominant in influencing community participation compared to extrinsic factors. In conclusion, internal drive such as the awareness of maintaining health, physical fitness, and fulfilling a healthy lifestyle serves as the primary stimulus for the community to engage in aerobic gymnastics. Meanwhile, external factors such as facilities and group support only act as supporting elements. To maintain and further boost this public interest, gymnastics studios are advised to continuously optimize their service quality and supporting facilities.

Abstract

Tactical decision-making is a fundamental component influencing futsal players' performance in responding to rapidly changing game situations. However, conventional training methods have limitations in providing representative game simulations, highlighting the need for innovative approaches through Virtual Reality (VR) technology. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of Virtual Reality-based training on the tactical decision-making ability of members of the Student Sports Club (UKM Bola) at Universitas PGRI Yogyakarta. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a Pretest–Posttest Control Group Design. The participants consisted of 30 students selected through purposive sampling and assigned to an experimental group (n = 15) and a control group (n = 15). The experimental group received Virtual Reality-based training for eight weeks, while the control group participated in conventional futsal training. Tactical decision-making ability was assessed using the Game Performance Assessment Instrument (GPAI). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Shapiro–Wilk normality test, Levene's homogeneity test, paired-sample t-test, independent-sample t-test, and Cohen's d effect size with a significance level of 0.05. The findings revealed that the experimental group demonstrated greater improvement in tactical decision-making ability than the control group. Hypothesis testing indicated a significant difference between the two groups after the intervention (p < 0.05), with a very large effect size. These findings indicate that Virtual Reality-based training is more effective than conventional training in improving tactical decision-making ability among futsal players. Therefore, Virtual Reality can be considered an innovative technology-based training method to support futsal coaching programs in higher education.
