Abstract

This study aims to design an optimal Job Mix Design (JMD) in supporting the uprating construction work of the Sunggal Water Treatment Plant (IPA) up to a capacity of 400 liters per second. The research method uses a quantitative approach with the stages of data collection, material selection, concrete composition design, and quality testing. The materials used include type I cement from Semen Padang, sand and split stone from Sei Wampu Binjai, drilled well water, and Plastiment P121R additional materials. The results showed that the optimal composition for 1 m³ of concrete K-250 consisted of 305 kg of cement, 835 kg of sand, 388 kg of 10-20 mm split, 718 kg of 20-30 mm split, 150 liters of water, and 0.92 liters of P121R Plastiment. Tests show that concrete achieves a characteristic compressive strength of 250 kg/cm² at 28 days of age with a slump value of 12±2 cm. The use of local materials contributes to transportation cost efficiency and supports the local economy. The use of Plastiment P121R as an additive improves the workability of concrete and reduces the need for water in the mixture. This research results in a concrete design that meets the technical specifications for IPA uprating construction with an efficient and sustainable approach, and can be a model for the development of water treatment infrastructure in the future.

Abstract

Along with the issue of financial literacy, data security and privacy are also major concerns in online investment. Use of investment apps requires users to share personal data, potentially creating a risk of privacy breaches. Nguyen and Tran (2020) stated that the design of investment applications influences user adoption, including the level of trust in the security of the data provided by the application. Research methods are ways of research that reduce research variables and operational definitions, sample determination, data types and sources, data collection methods and analysis methods used. This chapter also explains that the research used a qualitative approach. This research shows that the Stokbit application has various features that support investment decision making, ranging from technical analysis, an active community, to education through virtual trading. Although this application provides many benefits, transaction results show that investment success is greatly influenced by the user's financial literacy, the strategy implemented and market conditions. Therefore, the Stokbit application is very suitable for use by novice and professional investors while still paying attention to developing investment skills.

Abstract

Swamplands have an important role as carbon sinks, regulators of the water cycle, and unique ecosystem habitats, but their existence is increasingly threatened by climate change and human activities. This study aims to explore sustainable swampland management strategies to support agriculture in the midst of global climate change challenges. The method used is a literature study, which involves the analysis of a variety of secondary sources, including scientific journals, reports of international organizations, and policy documents. The results show that swamplands can support sustainable agriculture through the application of technologies such as precision irrigation and agroecological management, which are able to increase productivity while maintaining their ecological functions. In addition, land zoning policies and multi-stakeholder collaboration are key to the success of swampland management in various contexts. However, challenges such as land degradation, seawater intrusion, and weak regulations remain major obstacles. This research emphasizes the need for a holistic data-driven approach to face the challenges of climate change and support the sustainability of swamplands in the future.

Abstract

The utilization of social media in education has become a significant innovation in enhancing students’ competencies, particularly in English communication skills. This study aims to analyze strategies for leveraging social media as a learning tool to improve students’ English communication skills. Using a qualitative method with a literature review (library research) approach, this study examines various academic sources, including scholarly journals, books, and reports related to the impact of social media on language learning. The analyzed data focuses on popular social media platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok, which hold substantial potential for enhancing students' listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. The findings reveal that social media can be effectively utilized to create an interactive learning environment that supports English language learning. Strategies such as integrating video-based educational content, conducting online discussions on social media platforms, and developing collaborative online projects help students improve their communication skills in English. Furthermore, social media provides broad access to authentic learning materials, such as videos from native speakers, which enhance students' pronunciation and understanding of natural language contexts. However, challenges such as time management and the potential distractions of social media need to be addressed through structured pedagogical approaches. This study recommends that educators strategically integrate social media into the curriculum and provide clear guidelines for students on how to use social media for learning. With this approach, social media can become an effective tool for improving students' English communication skills in the digital era

Abstract

The internalization of moderation values in the teaching of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at public universities is a strategic effort to cultivate young generations with an inclusive, tolerant, and adaptive Islamic perspective in response to global dynamics. This study aims to analyze the approaches used to internalize moderation values in PAI learning processes, focusing on how these values can be effectively integrated into curricula and learning activities. The research employs a qualitative method with a literature review and library research approach, referencing various sources such as scientific journals, books, policy documents, and previous research reports. The findings reveal that the internalization of moderation values in PAI teaching can be achieved through an integrative approach, where values such as tolerance, justice, and harmony are incorporated into teaching materials, learning methods, and assessment processes. Additionally, the use of discussion methods, case studies, and project-based learning on moderation values has proven effective in fostering understanding and moderate attitudes among students. However, challenges include resistance from some groups who do not fully comprehend the importance of moderation, insufficient training for lecturers, and limited literature supporting the application of moderation values in local contexts. This study recommends that public universities enhance lecturer training, develop moderation-based teaching modules, and encourage collaboration with various stakeholders to support the successful internalization of moderation values in PAI teaching. With this approach, universities are expected to produce graduates who not only possess academic competence but also contribute to building a harmonious and tolerant society.

Abstract

The issue of educational access inequality in remote areas remains a pressing challenge in achieving equitable development, particularly in developing countries. This study examines the root causes, implications, and potential solutions to educational access disparities in remote regions through a qualitative approach, utilizing literature review and library research methods. The research highlights the multifaceted nature of this gap, which is influenced by geographical barriers, inadequate infrastructure, limited teacher availability, and socioeconomic factors. Furthermore, the analysis underscores the interplay between ineffective policy implementation and insufficient funding allocations as key contributors to the persistent challenges. By synthesizing findings from relevant academic works, governmental reports, and international case studies, this article identifies promising alternative solutions, such as community-based education initiatives, digital learning platforms, and public-private partnerships. These approaches have demonstrated success in bridging educational gaps in other contexts and hold potential for adaptation in remote areas. The study concludes by proposing a comprehensive policy framework emphasizing inclusive and sustainable solutions tailored to local needs. It calls for greater collaboration among policymakers, educational institutions, and local communities to foster equitable access to quality education. This research contributes to the discourse on education equity by offering actionable insights and alternative strategies for mitigating access disparities, ultimately supporting efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education for All.

Abstract

The increasing public awareness of healthy living has significantly influenced consumption patterns, particularly in the patisserie sector. This study explores the tendencies of the community in consuming healthy patisserie products and their implications for the development of the patisserie business in Bandung. Using a qualitative approach, this research is based on library research and literature review to analyze the correlation between consumer preferences and the growth of the patisserie industry. Findings indicate a rising demand for health-conscious patisserie products driven by lifestyle changes, urbanization, and increased knowledge of nutrition. The study also identifies challenges faced by patisserie businesses in adapting to this trend, such as the need for innovative ingredients and sustainable practices. Furthermore, it highlights how these businesses capitalize on consumer preferences through product differentiation and marketing strategies. This research contributes to the understanding of consumer behavior in the context of healthy food trends and offers insights into strategies for patisserie businesses to thrive in an increasingly health-conscious market. The findings underscore the importance of aligning business strategies with consumer needs to achieve sustainability and long-term growth.

Abstract

PT. Elizabeth Hanjaya is a retail company that provides various fashion products, PT. Elizabeth Hanjaya is a retail company that offers a variety of fashion products such as bags, shoes, accessories, and fashion supplies for men and women. This study uses the Technique for Order Performance by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method to build a decision support system in determining employee bonus recipients in this company. The purpose of the study is to design a system that can assess the feasibility of receiving employee bonuses based on the TOPSIS method. This method works by choosing an alternative that has the closest distance from the positive ideal solution and the furthest from the negative ideal solution based on geometric principles. The system is designed using Unified Modeling Language (UML) and developed with the PHP programming language. The results of the study show that the assessment system is able to produce accurate decisions. Based on testing with four alternatives, the TOPSIS method determines alternative 1 as the employee who is most eligible to receive a bonus with a final value of 0.675360. In addition, user evaluation results showed a high level of satisfaction, with 92% of respondents giving a "strongly agree" rating.

Abstract

The research using the PIECES Framework method aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of Android-based online assessment using the RDev ExamBrowser application at SMKN 1 Kotabesi. The student sample, selected randomly, consisted of 50 respondents. Questionnaires distributed to the students were analyzed using a Likert scale. The findings revealed that this online assessment was effective in improving student performance, providing easy access to information, saving time and costs, and ensuring good control over the exam process. The researchers suggested that implementing online assessment technology could benefit the learning evaluation process at SMKN 1 Kotabesi and recommended its broader adoption in other educational institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the writing assessment techniques employed by seventh-grade English teachers at SMPI Al-Abidin of Surakarta and evaluate how these assessments reflect students' writing abilities. Using a qualitative approach with content analysis, data were gathered from teacher interviews and document analysis of student work. This research adopts the theoretical frameworks of Zhang and Wildemuth, combined with Braun and Clarke's thematic analysis, to systematically examine the teacher's assessment methods and effectiveness. The findings reveal that the teacher predominantly utilizes the Cambridge International mark scheme for writing assessments, ensuring consistent evaluation based on content, organization, language, and communicative achievement criteria. Results show that students generally meet satisfactory performance levels across these criteria, demonstrating proficiency in content clarity, grammatical structure, and coherence. This study contributes to the broader understanding of effective writing assessment practices in secondary education, highlighting the alignment between international assessment standards and local teaching practices to support students' writing development.
