Abstract

This study aimed to improve the agility of extracurricular students using a combination of plyometric exercises, where several plyometric exercises were combined into one drill. These plyometric exercises consisted of single leg hops, lateral jumps, tuck jumps, and squat jumps. The participants in this study were 15 extracurricular basketball students from SD Islam Al- Azhar 52 Sidoarjo, consisting of 6 males and 9 females. The students will undergo combined plyometric training for 6 weeks, divided into 2 cycles, with each cycle lasting 3 weeks. Before and after each cycle, an assessment was conducted using the Z Sprint Test. The study results showed a significant improvement in the plyometric exercise intervention. In the first cycle, the improvement was not yet sufficient, with the average score increasing from 6.14 to 6.08 (standard deviation 6.5, percentage increase: 0.98%, and p-value = 0.003). In the second cycle, a significant improvement in students' agility development began to be observed, from a score of 6.08 to 5.37 (standard deviation 30.6, percentage increase 11.68%, and P- value < 0.001). The overall results of the intervention process showed an impressive improvement from 6.14 to 5.37 (standard deviation 30.5, percentage increase 12.54%, and p- value < 0.001). Other factors, particularly facilities, also contributed to the significant improvement in the second cycle. In essence, plyometric intervention over 6–10 weeks has been proven to enhance athletes' agility, particularly among younger individuals.

Abstract

The study conducted by Nurul Mawaddah Al-Mursal (Student ID 2220002), entitled “The effect of using a book Al-Qawā‘idu aṣ-ṣarfiyyatu fī al-lughah al-‘arabiyyah on the results of learning Sharaf at the Islamic Education School in Pasia”, investigates the impact of using the Arabic grammar book Al-Qawā‘idu aṣ-ṣarfiyyatu fī al-lughah al-‘arabiyyah on students’ learning outcomes in the subject of Sharaf. The research was motivated by the difficulties students encounter in studying Sharaf due to the complexity of the instructional materials, which in turn leads to lower academic achievement. The main objective of this study is to assess whether the use of the mentioned book can serve as an effective alternative resource to enhance student performance in Sharaf at MTI Pasia Islamic Boarding School. This research applies a quantitative approach with an experimental design, specifically a quasi-experimental model. The design involves both an experimental and a control group, with tests administered as the research instrument. Findings reveal that the application of Al-Qawā‘idu aṣ-ṣarfiyyatu fī al-lughah al-‘arabiyyah significantly improves students’ outcomes. This is evidenced by hypothesis testing results showing the calculated t-value exceeds the critical t-value at the 5% significance level (5.390 > 2.021). Consequently, the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. Moreover, the effect size test yields a value of 1.28, which surpasses 0.8, indicating a strong effect. These results confirm that the use of this book substantially contributes to improving students’ learning achievements in the Sharaf subject.

Abstract

This study aims to conduct an integrated review of the basic concepts of sociology of education and the thoughts of key figures in sociology (Durkheim, Comte, Weber, Marx, Simmel) as a theoretical basis for understanding the function of education in contemporary society. The method used is a descriptive-analytical literature study with data collection from two main papers that are combined with supporting literature; the analysis is conducted through content analysis techniques to examine themes, similarities, and theoretical implications. The results of the study show that the basic concepts of educational sociology include the relationship between education and social institutions (family, economy, politics), social interactions in schools (teacher-student, student-student), the curriculum as a social construct including the hidden curriculum, and the dual role of education as an agent of reproduction and an agent of social change. The thoughts of these figures enrich the framework: Durkheim emphasizes integrative functions and norm formation, Marx highlights the reproduction of class inequality, Weber emphasizes social action and the bureaucratization of education, Comte provides a positivist methodological foundation, and Simmel highlights the dynamics of micro-interactions. In conclusion, the integration of basic concepts and the ideas of key figures produce a comprehensive theoretical framework for analyzing education policy, curriculum, and practice. The limitation of this research is that it is only based on literature, so the recommendation includes empirical field studies to test the relevance of the findings in the context of Indonesian educational practice.
