Abstract

Purpose – The aim of the “Bhumi Literacy” program is to overcome the decline in education in Banyusidi Village and reinvigorate the literacy spirit of the target participants. Methodology – One of the crucial problems is the degradation of education as evidenced by the high school dropout rate and the decline in literacy. To overcome this, the Ormawa Student Association of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program through the Student Organization Capacity Strengthening Program (PPK Ormawa) carries out community empowerment activities with the "Bhumi Literacy" program. Bhumi Literasi is a program for cultivating and developing children's literacy skills through non-formal education activities. The Bhumi Literacy Program is implemented using preparation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation methods, as well as hearings and partner assistance. Findings – Through this method, five literacy sub-programs were developed which will be implemented, namely sub-programs for scientific literacy, digital literacy, financial literacy, reading-writing literacy and cultural literacy. The five sub-programs produce outputs in the form of local cultural wisdom products in the form of succulent plants, pine hangers, pine bouquets, mugs and tote bags created by the trained participants. Originality – Apart from producing concrete and useful outcomes, the "Bhumi Literacy" program is a service program designed within the non-formal education curriculum to adapt to the educational needs of children in the digital era. The learning process that takes place is very innovative, fun and meaningful.

Abstract

Purpose – One location where the garbage issues remain unaddressed is Abuan Village in the Bangli Regency. The occupation produces household garbage that is improperly managed. Consequently, the goal of the community service projects in this area is to inform the residents of Abuan village about the Bipori technique. Another aims to increase the absorption of groundwater so as to minimize the potential for flooding. Moreover, the biopori method is also useful for fertilizing the soil, making it easy to plant. because there is a biological process that decomposes the waste that enters the biopori hole. Design/methodology/approach - The methods used in this community service activity include the provision of material by resource persons and direct practice which is carried out in one of the residents' houses that have been chosen by the village. Furthermore, there are three preparation method that been used uin these community service which are preparation stage, implementation stage and evaluation stage. The purpose of implementing these three stages is to be able to measure and evaluate the activities carried out. Findings – (1) There are still many people who do not know about household sorting, (2) the emergence of awareness among the people of Abuan village to manage household waste produced by sorting waste into organic and inorganic waste, (3) The community knows the stages of implementing the biopori method and after community service activities there are several people who are interested in implementing the biopori method in their home gardens. Originality/value – In order to decrease household garbage, the service team in Abuan Village is assisted by this Partnership Program in managing the waste generated by the village's houses and providing training.

Abstract

Purpose – This activity aims to provide understanding to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in managing their income and capital flows Design/methodology/approach – This service method is carried out by involving a combination of socialization and education programs that emphasize the importance of investing, providing practical guidance, and supervising digital investments made by MSME participants. Findings – After the service activities are carried out, it can increase knowledge and interest in digital investment among MSME players in the city of Malang so that MSME enthusiasm for investment as a passive income stream increases, while protecting them from fraud in investment Originality/value – Activities focus on the goal of broadening the perspective of MSME players regarding digital investment

Abstract

Purpose – This community service activity aims to carry out training in calculating the cost of production of dry mini pastel products carried out by UMKM Rizki Kanaya. Design/methodology/approach – The method used in this service is by means of training and summaries regarding calculating the cost of production. The training was carried out by delivering material on calculating the cost of production to MSME Rizki Kanaya employees. The next step is to carry out a direct calculation simulation of the cost of production of Rizki Kanaya UMKM mini pastel products. Findings – The community service activities carried out obtained the result that Rizky Kanaya MSMEs still did not differentiate between raw materials and auxiliary materials. This service can help MSME Rizky Kanaya first separate raw materials and auxiliary materials in calculating mini pastel production costs. So you can determine a selling price that is able to compete with competitors in the market. Originality/value – Through this community service program activity, we can overcome the problem of determining the cost of production in terms of differentiating between raw materials and auxiliary materials as components that form the cost of production for MSME Rizky Kanaya.

Abstract

Purpose – Mempawah Mangrove Park is a mangrove forest area empowered as an ecosystem that always attracts tourists. The problem of partners is that this eco-universe does not yet have a website as a platform to provide information and introduce this tourist attraction digitally. Design/methodology/approach – The method of the activity is conducted in the form of initial observation through interviews and surveys at the activity location, followed by the formulation of activities. The implementation of the PKM includes socialization, training, website installation, and activity evaluation. Findings – Dedication activities to the community with the theme Development and Implementation of Website Tourism Mangrove parks have resulted in a significant improvement in the marketing efficiency of this tourist site.The evaluation was conducted to staff and prospective visitors of Mangrove Park in the form of a questionnaire to measure the success of implementation. On the activities there is marketing efficiency through the development of website, as well as the correct implementation strategy.  Originality/value – Initially, the promotion success rate was only around 46.67%, but after creating a Mangrove Park profile website, the promotion success rate increased to 84.89%.

Abstract

Purpose In 2022, Indonesia's Human Development Index (HDI) increased by 0.86 percent when compared to 2020, at which time all countries in the world were depressed by the Covid-19 pandemic. Efforts to increase HDI can be done by continuing improve the ability of the younger generation as agents of change who are believed to be the spearhead of the success of human development. The Postgraduate Study Program of UNAIR participates in improving the communication skills of the young generation through community service activities entitled public speaking training for students. This activity aims to improve students' ability to communicate. Design/methodology/approach – This activity was carried out using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method by building closeness and active involvement of participants. Findings – The results of this training showed an increase in students' communication skills. Students become more aware of the meaning of communication, and they are also more courageous and not nervous to communicate face-to-face with others after attending public speaking training. Originality/value – This activity can have a significant impact for students directly, and the communication skills and self-confidence of students increase. Students will be able to manage their nervousness, especially when they have to face the audience, besides that students will be able to convey their opinions effectively both in internal and external campus forums. Another implication of this activity is the increase in HDI.

Abstract

Purpose – Elementary school students can become agents of change so that education on the concept of One Health. The purpose of this community service is to increase knowledge about the concept of One Health in students and the regeneration of Little One Health Ambassadors at SDN Kalisari II Surabaya City. Design/methodology/approach – The method was counseling on the concept of One Health, and the selection of Little One Health Ambassadors. Activities were carried out in August-September 2023. The educational material was from One Health Lessons and have been adapted for children aged 8 - 10 years. One Health Ambassadors were selected based on the results of the assessment of poster work about One Health, and mastery of One Health material. Counseling activities on One Health education were carried out in the fourth and fifth grades with a total of 80 students. Findings – The results showed that the education provided can improve the knowledge of the target group about the concept of One Health (p-value = 0.003). The first winner of One Health ambassadors was chosen who indicated that he mastered the material about One Health and his work was the most interesting and could present it well. Originality/value – Community service activities produce changes that are by external targets.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Tujuan – Tujuan dari program ini adalah memberikan kompetensi nyata untuk mitra yaitu Sanggar Bimbingan Belajar Surya sesuai dengan keinginan mitra dalam membuat dan melaporkan laporan keuangan secara sistematis dan berkelanjutan. Desain/metodelogi/pendekatan – Kegiatan ini dilakukan melalui tahapan kegiatan sosialisasi, pelatihan dan pendampingan laporan keuangan berbasis excel kepada mitra seusai kebutuhan. Hasil – Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa setelah dilakukan sosialisasi dan pelatihan laporan keuangan berbasis excel, mitra memiliki kesadaran akan pentingnya informasi keuangan yang dihasilkan oleh laporan keuangan bagi pengambilan keputusan dan pengelolaan organisasi. Kegiatan pendampingan juga diberikan kepada mitra setelah mendapat kan pelatihan, meskipun mengalami keterbatasan waktu dan jarak yang jauh antara mitra dan tim pengabdi. Originalitas – Melalui kegiatan program pengabdian masyarakat ini dapat mengatasi permasalahan mitra dalam membuatan dan melaporkan laporan keuangan secara sistematis dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Purpose – This community service activity aims to enhance the understanding of individual taxpayers in the field of taxation, specifically in calculating and reporting their taxes online. The community service activity took place at Bhakti Samudera Maritime School located in Surabaya, and the participants were teachers and administrative staff from the school. Design/methodology/approach - The activity was conducted in three phases: questionnaire distribution, training on the calculation and reporting of Article 21 Personal Income Tax (PPh Pasal 21), and assistance in calculating and reporting taxes online. Based on the questionnaire data, it was determined that the academic community had income below the Taxable Income Threshold (PTKP). Therefore, the community service team prepared simplified materials for tax calculation and reporting. Findings – This community service activity improved the understanding of individual taxpayers, specifically the academic community of Bhakti Samudera Maritime School in Surabaya, regarding how to calculate their tax liabilities under Article 21 Personal Income Tax and report them using online e-filing. Originality/value – The school's academic community benefited from the training and assistance provided, as it resolved all tax-related issues and misunderstandings.

Abstract

Purpose – Badan Usaha Milik Desa (BUMDes) is one of the crucial instruments in advancing villages and enhancing community welfare. The success of BUMDes greatly depends on the capacity of the village head in leading and managing BUMDes. The community service activities aim to enhance the capacity of village heads in the East Java Province to manage BUMDes. Design/methodology/approach – The community service activities are conducted through training and mentoring methods for Village Heads in the East Java Province. Findings – The Village Head, after participating in training and mentoring activities, experienced a significant increase in knowledge and skills in managing BUMDes. This improvement encompasses managerial aspects, planning, and the implementation of BUMDes programs. This indicates that the community service activities conducted effectively enhanced the capacity of the Village Head, which in turn has the potential to advance the overall welfare of the village community. Originality/value – The originality of these community service activities lies in the holistic, integrated, and contextually adapted approach in enhancing the capacity of Village Heads and advancing BUMDes in the East Java Province.
