Abstract

This study aims to examine the quality of the school well-being scale for high school students..This study used a quantitative approach with Rasch model analysis. The validity, reliability, and differential item functioning (DIF) assessment are all part of the psychometric examination. The 165 high school students in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara province who took part in this research were 40 males and 125 girls, ages 11 to 18 (mean age = 15.87, SD = 1.39). The findings of the Rasch analysis show the instrument passes the validity test but has weak reliability. The statistical analysis of the Cronbach alpha reliability coefficient of the instrument is 0.43. More detailed results are shown by the Rasch model analysis reliability of person on 0.47 and item reliability of 0.98. This result explains the good quality of the instrument, while the reliability of the instrument needs to be strengthened by controlling the demographic factors. The scale can be used by school management to understand well-being of the students, and further for the improvement of school quality.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the essential entrepreneurial skills required for students to tackle challenges and capitalize on opportunities in the present circumstances. Additionally, it provides information on how educators can utilize technology to create conducive learning environments that enhance students’ entrepreneurial skills. This study employed a systematic literature review method adapted from PRISMA 2020 guidelines. Qualitative data collection techniques were employed, followed by thematic analysis for data interpretation. Studies were retrieved from the Scopus database that published between 2018 and 2023. The findings revealed three key aspects to enhance students’ skills: personal, interpersonal, and digital aspects. The personal aspect encompassed creativity and innovation, initiative, self-efficacy, and resilience, as well as risk-taking. The interpersonal aspect included leadership, effective communication, collaboration, networking, and a positive attitude. The digital aspect comprised digital awareness, digital literacy, digital content, digital communication, digital creativity, and digital critical thinking. The study also found that experiential learning and project-based learning have been widely used in entrepreneurship education. This indicated that the effectiveness of entrepreneurship education for students can be achieved through learning experiences, problem-solving, and practical applications in an entrepreneurial environment. By employing various creative, innovative, and technology-based teaching techniques, educators can capture students’ engagement and provide added value to their learning experience.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the phenomenon of student suicide in Indonesia in 2023 from the perspective of developmental psychopathology and suggest its implications for school counseling. This qualitative research employed a phenomenology approach. The data sources were secondary, obtained from suicide news articles on national and regional online news sites, and analyzed using reflexive thematic technique. The research results indicated 15 cases with 5 themes depicting the phenomenon of student suicide, including 1) accessible places and methods, 2) leaving messages or signs, 3) the severity of family conditions, 4) internalizing many things, and 5) dangerous peer influences. The concept of equifinality could be illustrated from the analyzed phenomena. The internalizing problems experienced by the victims may stem from the relationship patterns between parents and students and/or students and peers, which appear to dominantly underlie these cases. The research findings recommend implications for strengthening holistic counseling programs involving various members in the school environment.

Abstract

This research aims to design a profile of needs for basic reading teaching materials, especially at the tertiary level. This study used a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Research data was collected using a questionnaire. The profile questionnaire for the need for teaching materials for the basics of reading was displayed on the Google form platform. The research data was in the form of questionnaire results distributed based on the needs of students in the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program which was available at 3 leading universities in Riau Province, namely Riau Islamic University, Riau University and Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau State Islamic University. After getting the questionnaire results, data validation was carried out using interviews. Next, the data analysis technique was carried out using reflective techniques with the help of TagCrowd. The results of the research showed that the profile of the need for teaching materials for the basics of reading required by Language and Literature Education Students in Riau Province was based on four factors, namely factors (1) the content needs of students who want to understand the theory of reading skills, of course in accordance with real life and mastery of skills, (2) ) students' linguistic needs want popular vocabulary with complex information using simple sentences to make it easier to understand, (3) students' graphic needs want a book display with Times News Roman letters, 12 and A4 size paper equipped with pictures, audio and video, 21x29 cm using frames, and (4) students' learning media needs require teaching media in the form of printed books/e-books with interactive material containing public facilities such as tourist attractions and entertainment.) in the form of dialogue texts.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the co-occurrence of several topics linked to factors that influence student learning success and explore the motor themes related to factors that influence student learning success. This study used the literature review method with data analysis using R Studio and VOSViewer software. Data analyzed were exported from the Scopus website from 2013 to 2023 of 383 documents. The research data analysis techniques used network mapping analysis of VOSviewer results (network visualization) and content analysis within the keywords and studies. The findings of this study presented the keywords (most frequent words, trending topics), co-occurrence network (thematic map and thematic evolution), and discussion of topics related to factors that influence student learning success. The basic themes identified were higher education and Covid-19. Meanwhile, gender and self-efficacy are motor themes that could be researched further as those can influence student learning performance in online learning. The findings of the bibliometric analysis were intended to reveal unique insights into the factors that determine student learning performance in distant learning and contribute to previously unexplored issues.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the extent to which teachers' technology literacy skills contribute to their ability to implement innovative teaching methods through computational thinking. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a 2x2 factorial design. This research used 84 samples of prospective teacher students from the Educational Technology Study Program. The instrument used questionnaires to assess the level of instructional innovation demonstrated by aspiring teachers, utilizing three indicators: the utilization of interactive learning media, the incorporation of information technology, and the diversity of learning resources. The statistical method employed to examine the hypothesis is a two-way analysis of variance (two-way ANOVA). The results of this study showed significant correlation between the level of students' Instructional Learning Innovation skills and Computational Thinking; the statistical analysis reveals a p-value greater than 0.05. Additionally, the research findings indicate that the level of Technological Literacy Skills has an impact on Instructional Innovation Learning skills. This research made significant contributions, such as the introduction of the Computational Thinking Level, which enables teachers to enhance their capacity to create effective learning strategies that align with the most recent advancements in technology. Technological Literacy Skills assist educators in incorporating digital tools and resources into the educational process, fostering a cutting-edge and dynamic classroom setting.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the interaction role of cognitive flexibility and teacher self-efficacy in teacher innovative behavior in the context of curriculum change in Indonesian schools. This study used a quantitative survey method. Three instruments were used, namely the Teacher Innovative Behavior Scale, the Cognitive Flexibility Inventory, and the Teachers’ Sense of Efficacy Scale. Data were collected from 322 teachers from three educational levels in Jabodetabek. Descriptive analyses, correlation analyses, and moderation analyses were conducted. The findings revealed that cognitive flexibility, as a whole construct, and each dimension (the control and alternative dimension), positively predicts teacher innovative behavior. Specifically, only the alternative dimension that significantly interacts with teacher self-efficacy positively predicts teacher innovative behavior. In other words, teacher self-efficacy is significant as a moderator. The findings highlight the importance of addressing cognitive flexibility and teacher self-efficacy, which were not extensively researched before, in enhancing teachers’ innovative behavior. Innovative behavior is crucial for teachers, especially in the current era of change.
