Abstract

This research aims to design a model of animated video-based Arabic language teaching materials that are integrated with 6C skills to face challenges in the 21st-century era. This research used a mixed approach using the Research & Development method. This research used the Borg and Gall model as an analysis procedure. This research was carried out in the 2022-2023 academic year at the Arabic Language Education Study Program at Jakarta State University. The participants were teachers, experts (Arabic language materials, curriculum), and students. Data collection techniques used observation, questionnaires, documents, interviews, and tests. Data analysis techniques used qualitative data from assessment experts and peer reviewers. Data was presented through statistical descriptions using percentages and means. The quantitative data was taken from the test result in the model's large trial test to determine the product's worthiness. It was done to determine the student's achievement in Arabic speaking skills. It used the t-test. The research results showed that students need classroom teaching materials to learn to speak Arabic, which involves the development of digital technology, namely animated videos. The topics used in the Arabic-speaking teaching material model were related to the achievement of 6C skills, which are relevant to character education values and appear in learning instructions. The content of teaching materials was also combined with reading skills as a source of information for students in carrying out speaking practice in class. Various forms of speaking practice refer to the concept of an oral test. Meanwhile, the use of animated videos is in the instructions for carrying out exercises so that students can use the videos as a reference for speaking practice. These findings also provided an understanding of the demands for the quality of educators' digital competence in designing class materials.

Abstract

The research aims to analyze the correlation between motivation, learning quality, critical thinking skills, industrial work practice quality, and vocational readiness of Industrial Chemistry students at vocational high schools (SMK). The research employs a quantitative approach with a survey method. The research used purposive sampling from industrial chemistry students in Central Java, with a sample consisting of 63 students in grade XI. Data collection is done through questionnaires and tests, then analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling - Partial Least Squares (SEM–PLS). The research results show that vocational readiness is directly influenced by learning quality and industrial work practice quality, while learning quality influences the quality of industrial work practice. The results of indirect influence analysis show that the quality of industrial work practice mediates the influence of learning quality on vocational readiness. In this study, the motivation and critical thinking skills of students are not proven to have an effect on vocational readiness, both directly and indirectly. Schools are advised to optimize the quality of learning and the quality of industrial work practice through industry collaboration and cooperation with higher education institutions (HEIs). The motivation and critical thinking skills of students should also be considered to play a role in their vocational readiness.

Abstract

This study investigates Indonesian teachers' responses to curriculum changes over the past twenty years, involving four curriculum changes. This study employed a qualitative approach, conducting a systematic literature review conforming to PRISMA 2020 guidelines. Utilizing databases such as Scopus, ERIC, EBSCO, ProQuest, Taylor & Francis, Science Direct, and Google Scholar with selection criteria focused on empirical studies capturing Indonesian teacher's responses toward curriculum changes within the last 20 years (2003-2023). Screening and quality assessment resulted in 26 studies for detailed content analysis. The findings showed teachers’ general openness and acceptance of new curricula, yet this does not translate into effective implementation and reliance on traditional methods. Persistent difficulties include struggles applying student-centered learning, developing learning material, authentic assessment, digital proficiency, and tailored curriculum. These challenges were attributed to inadequate training, resource constraints, student difficulties, cultural factors, and teacher practical competence. This review implied the need to shift schools and local government towards hands-on in-service teacher training and for policymakers to enhance effectiveness through a system of monitoring and incentives. It also suggested a re-evaluation of pre-service training and teacher recruitment criteria, ensuring teachers were equipped for transforming educational practices in Indonesia.
