Abstract

Community Service activities have been carried out by several service teams from the Jamiyah Mahmudiyah Langkat Islamic Religious College, at Amir Hamzah Medan Junior High School class VII. This activity applies the reciprocal teaching method of mathematics learning, which is in the form of improving the mathematics learning model by increasing students' critical abilities and learning independence. The learning outcomes of students who apply the reciprocal teaching learning model have significant differences in learning outcomes. This learning approach is proven to contribute to the improvement of critical thinking and student learning independence. In addition, there is a reciprocal relationship between learning independence and critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The objective of this community service is to improve community income through the application of crossbreeding technology between male wild chickens (Gallus gallus) and local female native chickens. The main problem faced by the partner community is the low productivity of native chickens and the lack of knowledge regarding poultry breeding techniques that can enhance genetic quality and market value. The implementation methods of this activity include counseling, technical training, hands-on assistance in crossbreeding practices, and monitoring of offspring results. The results of the activity showed that the partner community was able to understand and apply crossbreeding techniques effectively. The offspring resulting from the crossbreed displayed superior physical performance, faster growth, and a higher market value. However, not many people are able to breed wild chickens due to the difficulty in obtaining pure wild chicken stock. This activity has had a positive impact on improving the skills of local farmers and has opened up the potential for increasing household income through the diversification of wild chicken breeding businesses. It is hoped that this activity can be continued independently and sustainably by the local community.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology has significantly transformed various fields, including education. This study aims to optimize the utilization of AI to enhance the quality of Islamic education learning at Islamic Boarding School Hatyai, Thailand. The methods employed in this community service initiative include training teachers to use AI applications for designing more interactive and adaptive teaching materials, as well as implementing AI for personalized student learning experiences. The expected outcomes of this initiative are improved learning effectiveness, higher student engagement, and enhanced teacher capabilities in utilizing AI technology optimally. Therefore, AI implementation is expected to provide innovative solutions for improving the quality of Islamic education in technology-based boarding schools.

Abstract

Financial management is something that must be taught from an early age, where this knowledge is very useful for every human being in managing the finances they have. There are many people, who are constrained in managing their finances, such as not being able to manage their expenses and income. This problem is not a new problem, but a problem that often occurs in the midst of society. Therefore, it is important to teach financial management from an early age so that they can prepare their finances well for the future.  It is hoped that with financial management through savings, it can increase early childhood understanding in managing and saving money so that there is no waste that can harm oneself.

Abstract

The integration of AR aims to create a learning experience that is more interesting, interactive and easy to understand so that students are more focused, motivated and actively involved in learning and memorising the Quran. and actively involved in learning and memorising the holy verses of the Quran. Method methods used in this community service activity are socialisation methods, training teachers and students, AR-based learning implementation, mentoring and monitoring. The results obtained are an increase in students' tahsin and tahfidz skills, increased student interest and enthusiasm in learning the Quran, increased digital literacy of students and teachers. in learning the Koran, increasing digital literacy of students and teachers. Conclusion from This service activity is the integration of Augmented Reality (AR) in learning the AL-Quran at Amir Hamzah Medan Junior High School is proven to be effective in improving students' tahsin and tahfidz students.

Abstract

This Preaching Strategy Training is designed to improve the skills and effectiveness of preachers in delivering religious messages in a relevant and adaptive manner amidst social change and developments. The objectives of this PkM are (1) Mastering various effective preaching techniques and methods, (2) Understanding their role as agents of change in society and playing an active role in building a better Muslim community through wise, dignified, and effective preaching, (3) Making a real contribution to educating and improving understanding of Islam in society, both on campus, in mosques, and in other social environments and (4) Preparing participants to compete in the 2025 Indosiar Action event by developing creative and effective preaching strategies. The methods used in this study are Lectures or Presentations, Group Discussions, Simulations and Role-Playing, Questions and Answers, Evaluation. The results of the study showed that the participants were very enthusiastic in participating in the training so that it could provide information, knowledge, motivation to participants in developing their talents and interests in the world of da'wah, one of which was participating in the 2025 Indosiar Action audition. Our great hope, the PkM team, after carrying out this training activity, is that the participants can implement what they have learned to produce da'wah works that are beneficial to the community.

Abstract

This article is the result of the Community Service (PKM) activity of the Dikti Grant which aims to provide quality education to PkM partners, especially in developing the artistic talents and interests of students and teachers. The activities carried out are 1) making traditional musical instruments gordang sambilan based on virtual reality (VR); 2) conducting training to improve teacher competence, especially in the use of VR-based tools, and 3) creating an art center that can be used by partners which is a space for students and teachers to express their artistic souls. The stages or steps of implementing this PkM are; 1) socialization; 2) training; 3) application of technology; 4) mentoring and evaluation, and 5) program sustainability. The expected results of this PkM are an increase in teacher competence and capacity in utilizing technology-based learning media, in this case the traditional musical instrument gordang sambilan based on virtual reality. The provision of these tools can be useful as a learning tool for students in channeling their artistic interests and talents.

Abstract

This community service initiative aims to raise awareness about the importance of peer counselling. It is expected to help adolescents solve their problems, particularly within school environments and surrounding communities. The program was conducted through training sessions to prepare students to become peer counsellors. Additionally, SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Yogyakarta, through its Guidance and Counseling (BK) teachers, has developed a method called the House of Care (HoC) as a peer counselling approach. The outcomes of this program include increased knowledge and understanding among students regarding adolescent issues and the formation of peer counsellors. The activity was attended by 80 students from all grade levels who registered voluntarily to participate in the HoC program. The results showed high enthusiasm from participants and a significant improvement in their knowledge and skills related to the material, successfully forming 80 peer counsellors. Through this program, it is hoped that peer counsellors can serve as a viable solution to address various student challenges within and outside the school environment.

Abstract

Banjir merupakan bencana alam yang sering terjadi di Indonesia, terutama di wilayah dengan curah hujan tinggi dan sistem drainase yang kurang memadai. Kabupaten Kolaka Utara adalah salah satu daerah rawan banjir, terutama selama musim hujan. Kondisi ini diperburuk oleh perubahan iklim dan kerusakan lingkungan yang mengurangi daya serap air tanah, menyebabkan banjir yang berdampak pada kerugian material, kerusakan infrastruktur, dan korban jiwa. Dalam upaya meningkatkan kesiapsiagaan daerah terhadap bencana ini, kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dilakukan untuk memberikan edukasi tentang pentingnya penyusunan dokumen rencana kontijensi banjir. Kegiatan ini menggunakan metode partisipatif yang melibatkan masyarakat dan pemangku kepentingan dalam proses sosialisasi dan penyusunan dokumen, serta pelatihan kesiapsiagaan bencana. Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukkan prosedur dan pemahaman serta kesiapan masyarakat dalam menghadapi banjir serta perbaikan koordinasi antar instansi terkait.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to enhance the understanding and skills of teachers at Tadika Al-Fikh Orchard in designing and implementing educational games as tools for active and joyful learning. The activity was carried out through a two-day participatory training consisting of theoretical material delivery, interactive discussions, and hands-on game development practice. The results showed a significant improvement in the teachers’ comprehension of educational game concepts and their ability to design games suited to early childhood learning contexts. Evaluation indicated high levels of participant satisfaction and enthusiasm. The program was complemented with the development of a simple educational game module and post-training online mentoring to ensure sustainability. Thus, this initiative has positively contributed to improving learning quality at the Tadika and can be replicated in similar educational institutions.
